@Friendo:
Against Momo:
- He isn't stronger than Ussop, Oda has mentioned in the past that Ussop will remain the weakest crew member implying that he is also the bravest crew member; fighting despite his lack of strength. This would alter Ussop's character too much IMO.
We know nothing of Momonosukes strength or ability. This is something you can't underestimate, especially when you look at the DF ability and the uniqueness of his fruits origin. Right now his power could be practically limitless, and hasn't been capped by anything in the series.
One thing this series should have taught you; is that you should never underestimate characters that have been highlighted so much. Its pretty much a running theme for everyone in the series that do the same towards luffy and crew.
- There is no time to train him to be stronger. What would the point of the timeskip be if they spend a few years training him up? It doesn't make sense. This is the New World: if you aren't with a Yonko, you have to constantly fight against everyone, implying that if somebody can't hold their own-they'll be killed regardless of how strong of a crew you are with.
And yet we have buggy, shanks and sabo still alive, despite all being among some of the most wanted people on the planet.
- It would be annoying if some Strawhats had to constantly baby him when the shit hits the fan; it is a cheap tactic to keep characters on the sidelines and would become extremely tiresome after a few arcs, let alone sagas.
Luffy has protected everyone whenever they are outclassed. You only need to look at Nami, usopp and chopper in the early days to know how this never really held the crew back.
I also think they crew fight at their best when they are trying to protect someone, which would make momonosuke a great catalyst at bringing out their potential.
- The kid's ambition is to be the Shogun of Wano, he can't very well do that if he's off gallivanting in the most dangerous sea in the whole world. Plus he'd probably end up dead if he sticks around Luffy & co. too much longer, can't be the shogun of anything after that.
This is such a poor argument I don't know if to entertain it with a reply or not.
Its like you are saying that being part of the strawhat pirates would hinder him, and prevent him from developing into someone great enough to rule a kingdom. Just think about how dumb that sounds in your mind before responding. Also look at how the people in the crew have developed since joining, and ask yourself why that kind of life experience would be detrimental to his ambition.
If that doesn't convince you then maybe a list of every island, town and kingdom that still stand just because of the crews presence.
- He's too young to be a cabin boy, I mean, he hasn't even begun puberty, you have to be decently strong & fast to be a good one, and Momo is not either of those two things.
I wonder how old Ace, luffy and sabo were when they defeated the mountain lion (tiger). Or how old Sabo was when he became part of the revolutionaries. Or how old franky was when he had started to make powerful weapons/warships. The point being that age is not a restricting factor in this series.
Even Lucci was pretty infamous as a child. Oh and robin; who in her own right was able to translate a language that could result in the downfall, or shaming of the government. And then we have Nami, who again was able to draw accurate maps that could have led to arlong ruling a good portion of east blue, has it not been for Luffy.
The point being… you shouldn't use age as an example.
I don't actually hate Momo as a character, but he quite simply isn't a fit.
I think you need to come up with another list bro. lol
