Anyone knows if there is still an online store who has Kuroko (Megahouse figure) in-stock or will be getting it in-stock soon?

!For what I gathered, it's made of resin and scheduled for March. The sculpt looks to be from some Taiwan person that's working with AForce. Airos did the base to complement the figure. They are selling the figure, the base or both bundled.

Resin, ehh? That means it's going to cost an arm and a leg.

…and his arm and leg might break XD

Is resin that fragile? I never got a resin figure, and I was contemplating getting him…. His price is about the same as limited Salome, which is roughly 70 USD. But if he is going to come broken, I should just pass....

Well, resin is usually packed in a styrofoam casing… A big one. I've had resin figures break (during shipping), and I find their paint isn't usually to my liking (I think resin has to be primed first, but PVC doesn't? So resin has an extra layer). Resin can be sanded and have better angles/edges which is why garage kits are made of it. It's easy to use in molds and make small production runs. It's just my preference, I'm sure there's pluses and minuses on both sides. Someone like Sensui who has a fair amount of resin I'm sure could give an educated opinion.
For me I draw the line with garage kits made of resin, and leave purchased figures to PVC if I can help it.
For me, it's just not my thing.
-
Personally I consider POPs a thousand times more fragile than resin. Best choice for both materials would probably be to just leave them alone after displaying them.

I'd love it if I actually got the figure and some little kid walks into my room, sees that figure on display, and asks me with an innocent expression "They forgot to sculpt his penis!". I'd totally crack up.
-
Heh…..good thing I'm not into the Titan series so much....wouldn't exactly want to explain a naked man figure on display if buddies ask (they already ask about plenty when they see the displays lol).
Regarding the resins.....most certainly very fragile. In fact, everytime I have resin shipped I expect breakage of some kind (I have that mentality going in to not be disappointed). As long as it's a clean break and something easy to fix with glue, I don't worry about it too much. Resins can be packed with boxes/styrofoam that looks it could survive nuclear blasts (ala Art of War) but if it sustains a good amount of shock during shipment...it's going to break no matter what. POPs are PVC figures that will basically never break in transit.....but like all pvc the material becomes brittle over time as it gets old and it becomes easy to break......also beware of POPs with the popping type connectors (at the heads etc of recent POPs)....those tend to not be so strong as well. I broke a couple heads taking things on and off and had to buy another POP to compensate....but at least it's not glass like fragile like a resin....u drop a resin on hard floor during assembly and you are f***ed guaranteed. Be very gentle during assembly is the best advice. Hope this helps.
-
^ugh I find that PVC comment unsettling since RAHs heads are a severe pain to pull off the joint.
-
Personally I consider POPs a thousand times more fragile than resin. Best choice for both materials would probably be to just leave them alone after displaying them.
There's no way polyvinyl chloride is more fragile than resin O.o Just no way. I mean, it's an entirely different material. Sure, you can break things off POPs or scratch them, especially if they are kept in low temperature, but many of mine survived falling down from high shelves with no consequences. If a resin figure drops off the table you can kiss it goodbye, it will shatter into pieces.
-
Well, any good collector should keep in mind what the stuff is made off. If you break something it's probably because you where an idiot in the first place or the model is flawed in production.
In my experience both don't break that easily if they are hollow. However what I do find is that resin is simply a harder and heavier material that doesn't flex at all. If the statue is hollow you see that the damage is not that huge (much like PVC/POPS) if dropped but if the statue/figure is solid the details chip, arms break off etc. This is most likely because of the weight and hardness of the material.
Much like Sensui mentioned the advantage of resin is that it doesn't age as fast as PVC, having said that PVC also doesn't age that fast if you consider the conditions for your PVC statue/figure. In short, just don't drop both, keep them out of direct sunlight/heat, smoke and keep them dust free.
-
So fragile…..but the details possible on resin statues.....so worth it.
-

Isn't that what your supposed to do with these types of figures. There not action figures there only purpose is to sit there and collect dust.

Yes!! I'm very excited to see all the new stuff!! I must admit I'm not usually, but since I like Kill la Kill so much I suppose I'm more invested!!
Ohhhh my goodnesssss I LOVE CLEANING LEVIIII!!! Someone on MFC asked if he could come off of his base and I just assumed he couldn't because he was packaged attached to it (and I never ever see that). But he can!! I immediately put him on the mess of papers, empty figure boxes, etc that had accumulated his week on my desk (I clean on weekends when not at work FYI! It's not always this way!!).
It's brilliant.
I almost want it to become a thing, where people put Levi on a mess and take pictures. It's so much fun. My boyfriend says he's going to move my cleaning Levi around the house and if I see him, I'll know I need to clean haha!!

"Clean up your sh*t, Maggie!"
Love his cleaning version face!
Normal face vs cleaning face. Shading is really different! Interesting how much it changes his face.[/hide]I consider the quality to be very good. Maybe not Max Factory but perhaps Kotobukiya/Yamato. Paint is great, barely any flaws (I only see one, it's that the straps on the back of his legs aren't quite painted fully where the crevice is for them on one strap. Arms are attached perfectly with no gapping or glue. The paint on his tiny pocket emblem could maybe be a bit cleaner, there is a faint mold line down the middle front of his bandana. The base is kind of messy but whatever.
What's really interesting is the neck joint! The ball of the joint is in his neckline/jacket! So it's a rod that sticks up that you put the head on. It's like butter. I can't tell you how many figures make me break into a sweat/nervous wreck when I try to take heads on and off. I hurt my hand because 90% of the time they have spiky hair, and it's just so hard to get the heads on and off. Not Levi!! I'm a big fan of their take on a head joint.

I am overloaded!! Annie RAH, Eren RAH, Levi RAH with hair blowing back AND CLEANING PARTS WHAT!!, Ryuko RAH!!!! 2 x Kill la Kill Figmas! Nendoroids (though I don't care about those as much), and picture of lots of Titan scales that I will not be buying because I think they are all off. I seriously am starting to think that buying a RAH makes me totally satisfied and not want for anything else of that character.
Plus nothing is really impressing me with these Titan scale figures.More Dragons Crown figures! Woo!!
Sailor Saturn Figuarts!!!! <3<3<3 BRING ON THE OUTER SENSHI
Also card captor sakura Nendo? That will make SO MUCH MONEY.
Edit: I am thinking about it, and I should start buying cleaning miniatures for that Levi now. I realize I already have the right size cleaning stuff for the Figma. I'm going to need a 'Titan RAH' money jar that I can put money aside in every week hahaha. Alternatively, I could just sell my Sasuke RAH LOL! Noooo shhhh Sasuke I didn't just say that shhhhhh

Your love for RAH makes me want to get them all. I never liked action figures like Figmas or Nendo's, but RAHs look really good… My heart says need, but my mind and wallet say can't. However, I like Sentinel's Eren a lot. His face is just epic. I hate Koto's and I'm not convinced on GSC Mikasa. I'll wait and see, but if I end up wanting a more dynamic figure, maybe I'll have to succumb to RAHs.....
P.D.: More Dragon's Crown figures? I haven't seen any....
P.D. 2: I don't know Louis.... Maybe Crease can help you.... -

P.D. 2: I don't know Louis.... Maybe Crease can help you....I was honestly never an action figure fan… A local friend of mine LOVES them and we'd always have the static vs action debate. However, somehow I got the Bakuman RAHs, and a Figma, and something clicked. I could have fun with them, and pose them, and make photo shoots a lot more interesting! Yes I didn't have the beauty of a truly masterful sculpt (except for the face ^_^;;), but I got something that I could pose and make into the character I truly knew, in a way. I don't get bored looking at them, ever. They look sooooo good. Even when I get one and think I'm not a fan, I start posing with it and fall in love. My Bakuman RAHs are pretty much my favorite items in my whole collection. Roy Mustang RAH is hot on their heels. For RAHs I never do the 'open them->look->meh->put on shelf' that I do with many static figures. When I go to look at my figure display, I always stare at the RAHs first. Admittedly, some figures I can't see looking amazing as a RAH... like TS Usopp for example. It's hard to get miniature clothes to fall right sometimes, and naked torsos don't look the best in action figure form. We'll see how that Ryuko RAH looks and how they will sacrifice pose ability for aesthetics.
Figmas are similar in a way, I can certainly be more rough with them and take them outside to photograph moreso than a RAH. A RAH I keep the overall value in mind and try to treat them carefully enough. Figmas are wonderful for me because I have lots of miniatures, so when I'm in the mood I can take them out and do a huge setup, re-discover the figure. The quality is top-notch on the few (but growing) figmas I have, and the sculpts are nice. I think my boyfriend has more fun posing them than I do, whereas I find myself enjoying posing the RAHs more.
However! I think RAHs are addicting so be careful. When you buy something top-of-the-line/high quality you tend to not want to go back. coughniceshoesandhandbagscough
I think there is a different kind of love for static scale figures than for items you can pose.
Dragons Crown has new photos of the Alphamax Sorceress and colored photos of the Megahouse one and Tiki. So, I suppose not 'new,' but I feel like it's something good at least.
-
Thanks for your explanation. It was really not helpful, because now I want them even more…. Arghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
However! I think RAHs are addicting so be careful. When you buy something top-of-the-line/high quality you tend to not want to go back. coughniceshoesandhandbagscough
This is soooooo true. After my first non One Piece figure, Kataneko, I haven't looked at POPs the same way. In fact, I have a really hard time getting excited by them, and the poor character selection is not helping either. Thankfully, they have become cheaper on the second market, so buying them has become quite easy for my wallet, so no 2nd thoughts has come in the way, besides what to do with the redos/repaints.
SnK is the only show, besides OP, that I could see myself getting into (if that hasn't happened yet, which by the way I reacted when I saw the new stuff, I'm affraid it's too late already….). But this time, I want to be carefull and picky. There's so much merch that you could easily get broke. I wanted dynamic figures, but as I said before, non of the ones shown are appealing to me but Sentinel's. I'll wait and see what else comes up.
Meanwhile, I'll keep an eye open for the RAHs.

Armin is definitely getting a figure, and if I'm right in my assumption, Erwin is as well?
I'm cautiously optimistic about this development. If both of their final products (I don't know much about this company, so I'm not putting much stock in the painted prototypes) are amazing to me, I'll definitely get them both when they're in stock. The strategists need more love, and I'm glad they're getting the 1/8 scale treatment!
-
But this time, I want to be carefull and picky.
That is my thinking as well. Titan is going to have a mountain of merch!! No telling if X scaled figure that is released next month will be outshone by some amazing figure that is going to be revealed 3 months later, which will be dwarfed by the awesomeness of the figure coming out in 2015. At least if you stick to a line… RAH, Figma, you know no other poseable figure will outshine them ^_~ Can't get much better than a RAH when it comes to poseable anime figures.
For scale figures, it's such a crapshoot. There's no way to know, and even then, the final product could be different. And Titan figures are selling so fast you don't even have time to make up your mind after release. Titan collecting is going to be very dangerous, indeed.
AnimeFTW if you look at pictures of Sentinel's Levi that was just released, you can get a good idea of the quality of Armin and Erwin. I'm pleased as punch with my Levi, a few tiny flaws but nothing crazy. He looks EXACTLY like the prototype to me. It's refreshing.

I took your advice, and am now just coming back from Sentinel's Levi's MFC page. You're absolutely right- the prototype and the final product are near-identical. This makes me really want Armin and Erwin now! Depending on when they're released, they'll make great college graduation and/or birthday presents.
-
You just won…. I had to order Mikasa.... I hope I'll have the money to spare in July (and December)
Hahaha you don't have to get her, I'm just telling you my point of view. I definitely don't want you buying figures you can't afford! I find it worrying the comments on MFC of people who want the RAHs but they are out of their price range. Even I question the prices, as they are heavy-hitting. I justify it by only purchasing the Figmas and the cleaning Levi. I found after I got the Alchemist RAHs I wasn't very interested in the IK figures I had of the same characters.
First release RAHs sometimes come with a bonus, so if you want them a pre-order may be warranted. However, Mikasa already has a second release slated so you can take your time if you don't care about the bonus. A good way to get over a RAH is to let it be released and then resist until it's out of stock and the price goes up. EVA-01, I should have preordered you. But now your price is too high and that's that.
For things like this you do need to think hard about the purchase as you could get 3-4 scaled figures for that price. I apparently also just convinced someone on MFC (unless that's you as well LOL), and I almost feel bad. People in this hobby tend to get excited and swept up in it and make orders they're not fully committed to. Having figures is great, but if it's costing you more than money and affecting your lifestyle it's unhealthy and problematic.

That was me on MFC. I placed the order just so I don't regreat it later. Maybe once she's in stock an amazing scaled figure has been reveled and I decide against the RAH. But as you say, prices tend to skyrocket with them. I don't want to find myself wanting her once she costs 500USD.
Good thing is POPs are on pseudo-hiatus and I'm almost done with hunting old missing ones (I can't believe the day is getting closer only 6 left!!), so it's probably a good time for me to expand my collection to my next favourite show. The key factor is knowing when and where to stop. Right now I think I have it under control.
