just being indoors gets me. And I have trouble breathingI love this kind of weather.but everything bad happened today.first something got in my eye and I was doing hell wink for one or two hour. Then I couldn't see a friend I haven't seen for more than year. Just because I forgot he would be there.

<–--- Guess who has to work on Thanksgiving?!
I guess I shouldn't be surprised. The movie theater is a different venue than retail. Plus I didn't ask off because I figured tons of people would want to do the same....and apparently, that was exactly the case. So the odds wouldn't be in my favor anyways.
Oh well. This year was only going to be my immediate family, plus I've been itching for more hours.

Sorry to hear that Meta.
Pardon the question from a naive european who has no thanks to give, but if that's the case then can't you ask them to postpone until you come back/have time ?
-
Its snowmaggedon where I am, 2-3 feet of snow over night. My sister had a ticket for the new Hunger Games movie and tried to trudge through it to get to the theatre but apparently it was up to her knees and she couldn't make it. Just crazy.

So close to finishing this research paper. Aaagh.

Postpone what? Cooking and eating? That's all we do, not like we play football or some other tradition. I wouldn't want to be such a burden, nor (probably) would my family want to wait for so long. I've told both of my parents and while they both seemed surprised, they haven't shown any major opposition.

Today my friends with whom I am currently staying took me to Halesowen roller disco to teach me how to skate, after having watched them at roller derby two weeks ago. Skating as it turns out is much harder than it appears in Pokemon X. As a dyspraxic person, I don't know where my limbs are most of the time, and my previous experience with ice skating was absolute hell, so I wasn't particularly expecting to do well.
I managed to survive the experience! I wasn't very good though. Two hours after putting on skates for the first time, I was able to head around the track at walking pace but only really using my left foot. Using alternating feet felt very beyond me. I only fell over twice however, and the second time was more of a very slow lie down. Apparently I did quite well for my first time, but it still feels frustrating not being able to do that smooth skating that the others at the disco were doing all around me. Once or twice I did something that impressed my friends but on the other hand I sometimes forget how to move at all and just wobbled a lot.
I can definitely see the appeal of it all, but I'm frustrated at myself for not being better. I want to be. This is something that, on paper, I should be absolutely terrible at and should not even attempt, and that is exactly why I want to do this.

Just keep practicing. Roller skating can be a lot of fun once you get the hang of it; I sure loved going when there was still a roller derby nearby. You can do it!

Thanks. It's going to take a while, and while I probably have roller discos near me in London because London, I'm not sure how regularly I'll be able to go. I'm also pretty scared of being annoying, flopping all over the track like a penguin on wheels whilst all the experienced skaters (and kids) have to avoid me. Hard not to feel patronised when people tell me I'm doing well when I can barely go faster than walking pace and wobble a lot. As I said, in theory, I shouldn't even be doing this because of dexterity fail. I still struggle to tie laces at 26, for reference. But I can ride the tube on one leg, and apparently that's a good sign in terms of skating balance?
-
I was woken up at 1am by endless phone calls from an unfamiliar number. It was a local number so I know it wasn't one of those scams where a China number rings you and if you accept or reject the call, your number will be saved as being in use and you'll start getting spam and whatnot. After like five minutes of ringing I picked up the call but kept silent, there was a guy on the other end but his voice wasn't super familiar and he didn't say my name so I hung up. I figured that if it was an emergency I would have gotten a text or someone would be screaming. XD After that I turned my phone to silent mode and went back to sleep~
Today begins the six-day work nightmare I'm about to have. Hooray!
-
Today i woke at the crack of dawn to do my much needed laundry at the only avalible time for the next three weeks
I awoke then having gone to bed like 2 hours earlier. Thus i've been in a constant sleep deprevition state and grumpy as all hell.
Sometimes i hate being an irrresponsible adult who still has enough of a feeling of responsibility to actually get the shit done.

And you know this because …
-
And you know this because …
I had to grow accustomed to riding the tube without anything to hold on to due to rush hour commutes, and I sometimes perch on one leg for no good reason (indeed, I sometimes stand in a 4 position with my legs just because I can) so I eventually put the two things together.

Today was a gloomy day, but I managed to schedule my big trip around Brazil. It will happen in january and I will be back in February…I´m anxious.
Before that, there is christmas, and we (me and my mom) don´t like christmas.

And just like that, everything in my life became awesome.
You can never underestimate the power of finding your self esteem after losing it for several years.

Going on the train to get to school, sitting down watching some Anime and listening to music. The train driver announces we are stopping at the station I get off. I watch an AMV of One Piece, I look out the window and I notice the train driver drove past a few stations. Everyone gets out the train and is like "WTF?". My friends come out and tell the driver he is a fried cunt.

I am actually not sure, i'll ask my friends tomorrow. It seemed to be their phrase of the day.

You know you're starving when "fried cunt" sounds delicious. Like I'm imagining fried fish tacos and chicharrón for some reason.

i know this all too well.
but yeah to elaborate why….
...I was offered a job in my profession, which admittedly I gave up on when it fell through during the industry collapse years ago in England. The businesses pulled out of all the projects the company i was subcontracting for when the market looked like it was going to flop, thus I couldn't afford my awesome flat or anything anymore. I had to sell half of my stuff and give up my career , which lead to me doing loads of random and cool jobs, before finally giving up on England and moving to Australia.
And now after several years I've been given a second chance. A friend of mine knows a guy running a business over here, and managed to get me a job. The first day went really well, even though I'm rusty as hell. But by the looks of things I might have a full time job again, and in a profession I LOVE!.
Two days in so far, working tomorrow and possibly all week. I'm getting back into the swing of things, as well as got some great feedback about my work.
I just pray to god I'm here at least a month or more. At least then I'll be back in the game and have a second chance. Heck even if I don't stay their long, I'll get to a stage where I'm confident enough to do this full time and at some stage open my company again.
It's going to be hectic as hell getting back on my feet, but with a bit of luck I will have a future again.
plus the money is just unreal. Fuck I wish I had this cash flow the past several years. Now I can buy junk again!

Augh! Stupid math class is full. The whole set-up made it sure I would be off Thursday and most of Monday, just like this semister. Oh well….that was the only hiccup. At least there's other calc II classes open....
So now, with the changed addition…..I'll have class Monday through Friday, with all except Wednesday getting out...relatively early.
(Just have 23 hours and 59 minutes before I can enroll....)

these days suckA cold seems to have been going around my friends too lately. I guess that's pretty common for November. Hope you feel better soon!

Yeah. Cold and general onset-of-winter-itis has wreaked havoc on my productivity over the past few days. I've been extremely lazy and anti-social in general. Not helping that the weather around here is going to be far from ideal for the next few days. I hope it clears up by Thanksgiving, as I don't want to catch a worse cold waiting in lines on Black Friday.
I shrugged off some inactivity and went to the gym yesterday. I probably overdid it as I was feeling pukish and faint after my workout. I measured my blood pressure and my systolic was in the nineties and diastolic was in the fifties. Not good.I also bought a new lens and lent some money to a friend this past week. A pretty big dent on my student budget. Super-saver mode has been activated.

Yeah the negative side of the cold is that it makes you lazy and unproductive, but I've been like that my whole life, so since i'm staying home today, it doesnt affect me that much.
P.s. Hope you'll get well soon -
So I kinda officially have a boyfriend now.
Last night he walked me home after a long evening at school and before I could go in the front door he said there was something important he wanted to tell me. He said he was madly infatuated with me and went on about how food tastes better and the wind smells nicer and how he'd like to watch every single movie he's seen all over again with me since my company improves their quality even more. He ended this incredibly rambling and sweet monologue by saying that I'm the best thing that has happened to him in quite a while. At that point I cut him off, buried myself in his arms and told him that I fancy him back just as much. We stood there in silence for a long moment before finally letting go, but the encounter wasn't over. I didn't go in and he didn't walk away, and I said: "Come back here a bit" and proceeded to kiss him. It was slightly awkward and he started laughing, but it was really nice either way.~

Staring my new job on Monday, which is Audit heavy. My current co-workers gave me quite a good bye party, it's going to suck leaving but you can only exercise your people skills so much until you want to start going on murder sprees. Left me with 200 bucks in cash which actually took me back, I expected them to throw a party (IF THERS AN EXCUSE FOR ONE IT SHALL BE THROWN), but the money made me tear up :(.

Well it's not like I got fired, it was a promotion lmao. Esentially my current job involves dealing with all forms of taxes at the customer level, in a give, give, give mindset. Phone calls, walk ins, emails, I deal with it all, with light adjusting over the phone, and review here and there.
Now I'm an auditor for questionable returns (audit like 60/600 preparer returns) to determine if they are a questionable business or not. It's awesome because we get laptops as our general computer so we can work at home anytime we want, travel to business' if necessary, and just gives you a lot more flexibility. I'm going to try to work 4 days a week and take fridays off :B

I've spent over 2 hours on lecture of 5 pages of book, taking notes, writing comments - the text is so have in information. Whit any given fragment of the text, it is so that every time I wish to move further I see more things I need to include. Ahhh… I'm going crazy. I have no idea, how I'll be able to produce notes from 50 pages by next week. Well at least I'm reading interesting stuff.
