Is that Hakuryuu on the last page?
Looks like Judar.
Is that Hakuryuu on the last page?
Looks like Judar.
Yep, but would you kill yourself, if you were her, in the hopes that Solomon would revive you?
Yes, but only if I knew that I'd get revived. It's possible that she didn't know though, that's why I was simply bringing up the possibility.
Anyone know of a site that does a recap of these last chapters? I am so lost.
Magi wiki maybe?

I wish I could give a damn about Hakuryuu. Sucks that he doesn't have a badass uncle to act as his mentor.
Anyway, I found adorable that one panel with Kouha and Alibaba fighting over Aladdin.

I knew Hakuryuu reminded me of someone (except Hakuryuu went good to bad and Zuko isn't as much of a panzy)
Just caught up with this series and damn it definitely deserves the large amount of praise and sales it has been getting, up there with OP as one of the best shonens for me, looking forward to the new arc.
A few sketches have been released on Magi's Urasunday website.

01. **M**agi #18 (311,414)
02. Magi Sinbad no Bouken #1 (145,212) Magi is going strong as usual. But I didn't expect Adventure of Sinbad to do so well right from the start. That's pretty awesome both for the manga itself and the franchise in general.
Oh. And this too. Are you ready, Alibaba?
You better be.

we're what, two weeks from Magi 2nd season?
If we get ROACH TITUS I'm going to punch walls. Not a wall, walls.
All the walls in the vicinity will have a fist mark.
Roach Titus? What?

I wouldn't be surprised to see A-1 do that. But if they touch any of my beloved Fanalis, blood will be shed.
Roach?
Come to think of it, since we're so close to the 2nd season, anyone willing to peruse their memory and do a quick review of how the 1st season adapted things for those of us who decided to just skip it?

I did make a longer post when it ended a few months back, listing the major differences to the manga. Should be somewhere in the thread if you're willing to look it up.
Gotcha
Hmm, so the two biggest things with longterm repercussion would be Alibaba's character getting screwed over with a senseless falling into depravity and the subsequent survival of it, and Alibaba seeing the Alma Toran flashback when he should have no idea about it until he comes back in the war. (and thus how he feels when the gang splits up should be very different from how it was; it's also gonna put a dent in the impact of their reunion)
Roughly when was your post about the Balbadd arc?

Huh, so if the Isnan-Snake bit Alibaba, then what's the anime explanation for Hakuryuu's arm falling off? Or did he still have both arms when the artificial arm appeared?
Thanks

iirc the snake bit Hakuryuu as well, and the fallen arm turned into black Rukh and eventually into Isnan himself. The artificial arm wass created during the Pirates/Mother arc; in other words the anime has yet to get to it (assuming they even bother).
What do you guys mean by "roach"?
What do you guys mean by "roach"?
Oooooooooh
That makes sense. I don't think it could happen to Titus though since he has Scheherazade's rukh, and therefore can't become a djinn or w/e.
So, now that the arc is finished, what are people's thoughts on it?
Well I have a feeling Hakuryuu will fall to the dark ruk (if he hasn't already)
Very good. We got to see a war between two factions, we got plenty of character development, a new cast of fairly interesting individuals, and lastly we ended with an all-out battle that featured a visual display of awesome high class magic, that without forgetting the big revelations in the final chapters of the arc.
So, now that the arc is finished, what are people's thoughts on it?
In short, I'd say:
-very good until the medium;
-clumsy fight against the medium (fights are Ohtaka's (Achilles) heel);
-back to a good level after the medium.
Really good arc IMO. It seems that I'm one of the few who enjoyed the medium fight so I didn't mind that part.
Not really a fan of the war part (lack of interesting strategies).
My only problem is the skipping of Alibaba and Mor respective adventure. Hopefully, we will have some flashbacks about those parts.
Good arc except that they were to many characters at the end and the fight with the medium was too long.
I loved the arc. If there's anything I'd have to say, it's that the author really does seem like she has quite some ways to go before doing a huge scale battle with on big powerful enemy again. I hoenstly don't think she would, but who knows? It just really seemed like it was her first time attempting something of this magnetude, and the art and composition really suffered because of it.
Still. It's around a volume of that content. I can forgive wading through the Black Spot.
So, now that the arc is finished, what are people's thoughts on it?
It was a solid arc, not one of my favourites in the series thus far, mainly because I felt it dragged a little in some parts and some of the battles were slightly confusing due to the art, but other than that I enjoyed it.
A bit late to answer, but whatever
1. The alternative would be getting slaughtered by the forces present. And why would Ren Kouen, of all people, be so dumb and throw away not only his life, but the lives of his family so easily? The man is seeking knowledge about the world and doing that is kinda difficult if you're dead
Ku hasn't been said to be the strongest. Just one of the top. And even back in Balbad they accepted to negociate. So now that a alliance have been strike between Sindria and Reim they really can't do much. Also Sinbad and his force are fresh while Kouen and his siblings have been fighting fr quite some time.
-Kou isn't the strongest. It was a shitty nation a few years ago and just recently became a big player. It is the only nation conquering other nations atm. All of the Kou king candidates are weak as shit right now. Sinbad has 7 fucking djinns, Kouen only has 3. Sinbad has 9 metal vessel users (Sinbad, 4 kings, 3 Reim, Alibaba) and a magi. I can go on and on about how much stronger Sinbad is.
Okay, didnt remember that Kou was only a young nation. Maybe it had something to do with me reading most of the series in one go only a couple of weeks ago, but its still fresh, how Kou was supposed to be the major antagonist, before they were overtaken by Al Thamen and now Sindbads machinations.
Just seems strange how they reacted (or did NOT react) to being put into their places. No, that doesnt mean that they attack the 7-sea-alliance and reims right on the spot, but do not just wave it off nonchalantly.
2. Magnostadt has no leader at the moment. The man who has been leading them for the last 20 or so years has died mere moments ago and they're all in shock and in mourning. Give them a few minutes to actually process what was said and to then decide as to what to do. Also, they don't have many alternatives either. They can either accept the protection offered by Sinbad's Alliance of the Seven Seas or get forcefully taken over by the Kou empire
-Magnostadt is post-WW2 Germany. They went crazy with Eugenics, lost, and now are forced to sit and listen while USSR and Allied Powers decide their fate. They lost, they're weak, and no one gives a fuck about them. Welcome to diplomacy.
That is exactly my problem. They are a defeated nation, that just got more or less annexed and forced into an alliance with their worst enemy, but all the magicians are just staying around acting as if nothing bad happened. They are not even traumatized in any way. Most people seem to have forgotten, that before the medium, it was a huge reims-magnostatt war.
To be fair, both these complaints could be addressed in the next chapters, even if the arc has officially ended. Will wait how tomorrows chapter goes.
4. Ahem, you did see what happened in the sacred place? Ugo- doing so for Solomon himself most likely- offered Scheherazade to return back to life since she's still got a bunch of bodies lying around in the Reim empire. But instead of doing so- and considering the fact that she's lived for over 200 years- the former Magi decided to let Titus, essentially another clone of hers who has a reason to live, take her place as Magi instead. So where's the problem?
-Titus' revival sheds light on how magi are chosen and where they go after they die. It also notes Ugo's function as the 73rd djinn.
People who die should stay dead, simple as that. Otherwise it creates a dangerous precedent.
Bashing for the sake of bashing? Not in my Magi, buddy.
Well, that all doesnt make Magi bad per se. But I thought Magi tried to be something special, something a little bit above the rest, so it has to meet a higher standard.
–-----------------------------
So, now that the arc is finished, what are people's thoughts on it?
Did start with an interesting premise, got a little stale and dragged out further in, reached its peak in the middle with the ethical problems with the 5th Level Authorization District (by the way, was that ever adressed in the last chapters?) and the initial start of the reims-war, but got pretty bad in the last third.
god, that was a lot of edit and cut&past

There's a difference between the Kou Empire and Al-Thamen. The Empire itself isn't that strong. They have DO however have 6 dungeon capturers. But still, they're weak and lacking a strong army. They've only gotten strong by cheesing small countries around them - peaceful people like the Kouga natives. Al-Thamen has a lot of influence in the country - they're the main power behind it. But there's a struggle between the kingdom and Al-Thamen; Kouen vs. Gyokuen. Hauryuu doesn't see much of a difference between Kouen and Gyokuen though.
Kouen knows how much he is lacking compared to the Seven Seas alliance and Reim respectively. Sinbad and his crew have more djinns and are more experienced. Sinbad's crew also has those hhad theave merged with their djinns.
Reim on the otherhand is a huge country, has a strong and killer army, has alchemy, etc.
Kouen was also hurt more than Sinbad, and he even notes that he could easily be killed. HOWEVER, since Sinbad states he doesn't want to kill him, Kouen goes with the flow. Also, all he really wanted was info on Alma Toran.

They're so overwhelmed by what happened, they can't process it. Their army lost, their leader was killed, they found out about what was happening to the goi, etc. It is LITERALLY what happened to Germany after Hitler died. They fucked up, they know they did, they know they exist by the mercy of two other forces, and they just want to survive. Maybe it's not illustrated properly, or it hasn't been shown yet, but they're overwhelmed. The story hasn't progressed past the single day where the war started, finished, and the core turned into a black spot.
People who die should stay dead, simple as that. Otherwise it creates a dangerous precedent.
Yunan has been reborn with his ego intact.
Aladdin is more or less Solomon since he has the same power as Solomon and has inherited his powers, memories, etc.
I don't see what the issue is given it hasn't had any negative repercussions on the story. It's also something that can only be done for magis apparently. This isn't Dragonball.

Sinbad is talking with Kouen about what he's most likely going to do. The magicians still don't know what's hapenning so we don't know how they will take it. And worst enemy? The 7-seas alliance isn't their worst enemy. That would be either Kou or Reim.

Enjoy the new chapter.
I had a massive grin on my face for the entire end portion of the chapter.
Other than that, not a lot happened.
Edit: I did not remember Toto having such large breasts …..
Oh how Olba is even taller than Alibaba now and I like the "new Olba, the Camul clan sounds a fun clan to meet.
And speaking of Alibaba.
ALIBABA YOU FUCKING IDIOT!
-a bunch about the after-events of the war and the situation in Reim and Magnostadt
-the upcoming summit
-Olba and the other guys (I'm still not sure what gender he/she is)
-Toto+Alibaba's former master being there
-little Alibaba having a girlfriend (who's taller than him which makes for a hilariously cute couple)
-NTR'ing my sweet Morgiana
"Not a lot" is the wrong term to describe this chapter.
woo boy you could practically feel Morgiana's heart being broken.

You're right. Plus the shipping hints between them were much stronger than I remembered.
She's probably closer to Alibaba's age too, than Morgiana.
