What's the most beautiful music you've ever heard and why?
I don't care if it's Chopin or Papa Roach, it could all have different meanings.
Me personally? There's a lot but I think there are two which really stand head and shoulders above the rest. The theme 'Summer' from Kikujiro is unbelievable, I've never heard anything like it and I don't expect to in this lifetime. It is the only piece that after literally countless listenings, can still make me cry without even a single lyric or image.
The other, 'Death on the Snowfield' from Final Fantasy 6. Oh man. You can throw anything at what the SNES managed to pump out of that miniscule cart and it will bounce directly off. That theme is incredible. Everything Square did prior to that, nothing they have done since and I doubt nothing ever will touch it. Forget SE, I dare say any game.
I know it's just clunky 16-bit bleeps, but that's nothing to keep it from being accepted as the masterpiece it is.
For me, that is beautiful music.
