This was a good chapter, I really liked the comical bits to it, especially the whole Barto thing.
Luffy's power has grown, I'm happy to see that.
In regards to the Aokiji situation I think the idea of Aokiji being recruited in the BB pirates has reached the ears of many. I mean think back to Punk Hazard, Doffy said he has been hearing rumors about Aokiji and that they weren't to good. Now, it could be possible that Aokiji may have been approached by the BB pirates to join their crew but on the other hand I think they would just be wasting their time because Aokiji doesn't role like that. He said to Smoker he's still the same man he was back then (another PH reference).
I just can't believe how calm Burgess was when Luffy was right in front of him, I honestly though something was going to erupt and all hell would break loose. I guess it is to early for that. The amount of confidence that Teach has in Burgess is truly frightening, just how strong has he become that BB himself claims that he will defeat Luffy and obtain the Mera Mera? Also, that line, when BB said " As if Ace has joined our crew" gave me chills down my spine, BB really knows how to irritate people.

That was HI-LAR-IOUS. Bartolomeo, man. Going back and rereading his bits in previous chapters only makes it better. It makes sense for Luffy to have more than one fan, too, since he's been making headlines for a while. And Hancock was more like a lot of folks that became a fan/friend of Luffy's AFTER he interacted with them, so….but anyways, what an amazing chapter.
My biggest issue with the Nami (and Robin) clones is I always get really excited to see Nami (or Robin), followed by a slight twinge of disappointment :)

You might just be playing, but just an fyi about swordsmanship. You know how Zorro kind of sucked at sword-fighting with one sword when he was facing the meow brothers of captain kuro? That's because defense takes a nosedive when you go to one sword. Offense goes down a bit too, but not as much. Just because someone is good at fighting with two, or three swords doesn't mean they're just as good with one. It goes more so for moving from one sword to two or three. A swordsman needs to do a shit ton of training in order to use two swords, let alone three. Being able to fight with one doesn't mean you'd automatically be stronger with two or three. For example, I use two swords. I spent years fighting with only my left arm, then only my right until I was good with both. Only then could I begin to combine them effectively. Otherwise they would just get in each-other's way. Haha, and yes, briefly, I did try (because I was curious) to use three. As you can imagine, it didn't end well;)

You know, I think I've found internal peace and acceptance regarding MS. They clearly understand just exactly what kind of sacrilege they're committing (i.e. they're not pretending that there's anything legit about it. That would require subtlety), and if it makes people smile…? Whatever! And no institution could misrepresent OP as bad as 4kids did, so at least MS can't take that prize.
Besides, it's really closer to "Ca_betch_," the valley girl variation ;)

DD can lose factory, lose kingdom, and lose SB. But as long as he has Caesar, he can still thrive because he wont lose his Underworld prominence. Also, Caesar fears Kaido more than any SH, BB, or any admiral. So his main initiative is to get Caesar back. Oh and kinda implied but I'll state it explicitly: With prominence in Underworld as Joker and Caesar he can still supply SMILES to Kaido and still thrive just like any other pirate, and although he may have planned to retain all the mentioned attributed from the first sentence, he can still survive without them as long as he has Caesar.

But is not only about Rebecca. The problem is how women are being portrayed so far in the series.
I'm on the fence in this issue. Yes, I cringe when I see so many frail women, but honestly I haven't met that many women who could kick my ass. Hancock is surely very strong, but I guess the feminists would say the fact that she's puddy in Luffy's hands makes her less powerful. But then again, the same thing could be said about Sajnji and women. I lol'd when Violet called him a "manwhore" in one translation;) Jewlery Bonney definitely wasn't a weak women, but she decided to take on Black Beard, who is probably the main powerful villain in the series. So in short, yes I'd like to see more badass women. But no, I don't think Oda is going out of his way to make the ratio unrealistic and chauvinist.

O god u gave me the memories :D Back in early 2000s it was brought in greek tv from Alter-net and it was my first touch with one piece. A weird one though. Luffy was Drake, Zoro was Blackjack and Sanji was Sonny or somethink. The story make it as far as alabsta and then it got canceled due to "Extreme violence". Ohhh greece…..

I really don't like the fact that Rebecca looks A LOT like Nami. I mean c'mon. This seems to be a recurring thing with female characters. Hopefully she'll look different colored in or animated. Anyway this was an ok chapter. I'm REALLY interested in what Kuzan (Aokiji) is up to. I thought Luffy would be a little more angry at Blackbeard and challenge him straight up. I wanted to see more of an exchange between enemies with such a deep history but whatever. Barto is so weird, but hilarious nonetheless.
Yeah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who frequently does a double take because many of the woman in One Piece look like each-other.

Yeah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who frequently does a double take because many of the woman in One Piece look like each-other.
All this talk about Rebecca looking like Nami and how Oda keeps using the same cookie-cutter designs for his female characters has got me thinking: does it really matter if two or more characters look alike so long as they have strong enough personalities to differentiate the two? I mean, if Oda or some other author twins that are identical to each other, yet have completely different personalities, would we even care? I mean, the design of a character should and is an important factor in creating a character, but is it more important than that character's relatability?
Of course, this begs the question: are Nami and Rebecca different enough in terms of personality? Personally? I think so. Nami's a greedy, hot tempered, yet kind and calculating individual, whereas Rebecca's personality hasn't been fleshed out enough, although from what we can now tell, is a determined individual trying to risk it all for the person she cares about. Now, like I said, Rebecca's personality isn't fleshed out enough to have a genuine comparison between her and Nami, but I think she'll be different enough to have a difference between the two.

Sorry, thought I repied with a quote. It's the first time I'm using the forum. Someone had said Cavendish might have gotten the better of Luffy if he had two, or three swords. I was just making the point that if your specialty is one sword with two hands, you can't just grab two and be better.

My gosh, i'd never thought that i could be so thankful for the Hebrew dub of One Piece in my life. I am so sorry for you and anyone who started the series with that version. The Hebrew dub was very fateful (only difference was Ussop's name which was Yuzupa, and it was fine since it is more like a Zoro-Zolo thing) though it did stop on episode 52.
but, that drake seems like a small fish in comparison to Goldfinger Roger and Garp Bond.

Awesome chapter! The only problem for me is that it seems more and more likely that Rebecca eats the Mera Mera. Though we haven't had her back story yet, she's not a terribly compelling character and her fighting ability seems quite weak. Whoever eats the fruit, good or bad, should at least compare to our memory of "Fire Fist".
Well it should atleast be going to someone who will be relevant to the future of the story, and I dont rly see rebecca as this, shes just like vivi or any other arc plot character. Ill admit it seems like its headed this way, but prty sure thats not how itll turn out. Atleast i hope thats not what will happen..

Worse than those two? I don't think so, but the Italian version has some shit as well. Luffy is Rubber for the first 400 episodes or so, then turns into Monkey D. Rubber and lately in Rufy D. Monkey AKA Rubber. Usopp is pronounced Asop. The Devil Fruits are Sea Fruits ('cause, you know, being so close to the Pope doesn't let you talk about the devil). The Grand Line is Big Blue and the All Blue is the Heart of the Seas. Nezumi is Rat, Hacchan is Octy and Chopper is Rennyrenny Chopper. Iceburg is Iceberg and Ace, Garp and Dragon don't have a surname. Almost no character has its laugh as in the manga. Also, at some point they censored Sanji's cigarette with a lollipop. Yeah.
