Fantastic chapter. The Barto bits were hilarious and I'm looking forward to rebeccas sad backstory. I think it's safe to assume that she is not gonna join the crew, because of the simple fact that she looks pretty much exactly like nami, lol.

Meh, to be honest, I'm getting annoyed by people cheering on that random chick Rebecca becoming the next nakama. I don't see what's so good about her to justify her joining SHs.
If SHs are to get new nakama then he has to be shikibukai level at least, not just some side character with tits and pretty hair.

Anyway, the chapter. D Block is about to begin, only the arena's in kind of shambles. But hey, now Chinjao doesn't hate Luffy anymore! Neat. Oh, and Cavendish tries to kill Luffy, but that's nothing new.

What is new, is that Barty admires Luffy. His survival at Loguetown is what inspired him to sail the seas…..holy shit, that's awesome. I mean I saw the theory of Barty being a Luffy fanboy and I didn't really get into it, but now I love it. His faces were gold!

So now Luffy has the hate of Cavendish but the adoration of Barty. Lol why does Luffy make allies of the strangest people.

Rebecca drags Luffy away, only for us to see Burgess speaking to Blackbeard on a Den Den Mushi. Man, you could just feel the hate from Luffy's eyes as he glared at it, the question is now….how far will Burgess go to stop him and take the fruit for his boss? The BB Pirates clearly aren't above cheating, you know.

Speaking of Rebecca, she attempts to kill Luffy, as we learn she a) wishes to help the Toy Soldier with Franky and b) she's one of the contestants doomed to continously fight in the tournaments in a vain attempt to earn freedom from Dofla. Interesting....

I'll be rooting for her in D Block. In the meantime, give us more development for her, Oda!

Great chapter and i agree pretty much with everyones opinion about it.
Very important information was revealed and it was also one of the funniest chapters i have read since timeskip!
I dont know but it seemed to me that most of you were focus on the bartolomeo incident rather than the blackbeard-luffy dialogue.
First of all, there is a tiny flashback were luffy remembers blackbeard telling him in Impel Down if he should be here since at marineford they are starting ace's execution. ( This clears up the translation errors i think ! )
Second of all, Blackbeard mentions shiliew and aokiji. I believe that probably Blackbeard is going to try and recruit Ao Kiji into his crew (yeah mindblowing !!!!i know !! ) and burgees was having second thoughts because he is an ex-marine(former admiral to be clear) but Blackbeards backs up his argument,that they should recruit him, by refering to Shiliew who is a member of the crew and was a former jail warden kinda like involved with marines and WG,not a pirate at all.
If my assumption is right, THIS WOULD BE SO UNEXPECTED and it would have a great effect on they story and making BB's crew pretty strong, more like overpowered :P !
It is to soon to consider this a fact so lets be patient ! :)

So I don't sew Bartoloneo being a fanboy forever, his personality (cutting niggas tongues off just for talking shit) might clash. Also in the spoiler thread I was the first person to predict that Bartolomeo might pull a Syndrome from the incredibles on Luffy if Luffy rejects him for some reason. And then him and Bellamy rematch and bellamy pummels his face in.

Great chapter. Also helped that i missed the spoilers yesterday, so it was all new for me.
Really, the Dressrosa arc is amazing so far. If Oda keeps the quality it can turn out to be one of the best One Piece arcs so far.

by strong i meant the level of Barto or Cavendish…she freaking attacked Luffy(though i felt it as a half-hearted attempt) while everyone else were holding him...unlike for a strong char to make such fighting 'debut'(in the story)...off course to be fair she deserve benefit of doubt at this point..

anybody who says Chinjao is a fodder is nut..he gave Luffy a decent fight...but Luffy beat Rebbeca with his two feet,holding on to a Bento box...

1. Wait for a real translation and not mangapanda for Rebecca's line.
2. Nothing is going on. Samurai are tough warrior people, they don't eat food offered by enemies. Kinemon recognized the Strawhats as friends.

I can already see Doflamingo walking towards the colliseum after beating Law, to collect a beaten Luffy. Only to see the colliseum sinking into the ground, because the factory underneath was destroyed and out of the rubble comes Luffy together with all the allies he made. Insert Doflamingo WTF face

Yeah but Luffy actually clashed with Chinjao, he beat Rebecca after being tired and while eating food. That said she wasn't really into it but she hasn't shown any promise as a good fighter like Chinjao (500m bounty), Barto (beating a VA), and Cavendish (having a named sword and 200m bounty). Maybe I'm wrong but I was hoping and still hope she shows promise as a powerful fighter but atm she seems to be pretty weak.

He's not some super plan OCD person, he's the guy whose reaction to literally every twist during the Whitebeard battle was to laugh and get excited about the new chaos.
He's that kind of villain.

While aokiji joining Blackbeard would be epic it would still not fit with his decision to quit the Marines (even after what happened) and see what's justice in his eyes the Blackbeard Pirates clearly aren't up to anything good so it would be the complete opposite the revolutionaries would still fit best for him or a SH like crew in the sense of not being evil.

For me it's something like:

Elizabello/Chinjao/Lucy > Bellamy ( He is kind of a new person )/Gats/Hack/Funk brothers > everyone else.

Damn, I'm enjoying this tournament a lot. I like Cabbage, Bartolomeo and the dwarves too, but I'm waiting for them to do more.

I didn't think the chapter could get any better after Barto's starstruck reactions to Luffy but man…the interaction between Luffy, Burgess and Teach made my jaw drop.

This is making me wonder just how strong has Burgess become in the past 2 years?

Teach will have believed that Luffy was alive and surmised that he would be training to take on the New World over the past 2 years. Yet he is stilll completely confident that Jesus will defeat Luffy in the tournament. I can't state how much I am enjoying this arc, and it just keeps getting better.

After looking at stream's version of the chapter- and occasionally laughing about their wording- I gotta say that I do like Rebecca. In terms of combat strength she may be fodder compared to Luffy and the like, and she also looks like Nami 2.0, but she still seems like a cool girl.

Good chapter, funny but had good info at the same time. Glad Bart kicked that guy who was mocking Luffy
for not saving Ace in the War ass, I wanted that guy killed for doing that, like any of them would even
survive in the War or last a long as Luffy did, they'd have been dad the first day

Bart has become my new favorite character, if he doesn't join I can at least see him joining the crew for a bit like Vivi with some sort of an excuseXD I want a fight between him and Hancock over Luffy now HA.

BlackBeard really knows how to get under Luffy's skin, I knew he wanted the devil fruit right off the bat.
I'm not sure if Luffy will be able to save it though, I think hey'll have to chose between that and defeating

I feel like Barto being too nervous to talk even talk to luffy will have a role lter in the tourny. I also don't see rebecca becoming a Nakama unless she eats the Mera Mera somehow. I see her more as a vivi Where as after the dressrosa arch she will stay behind and help rule dressrosa since dolfa will have been taken down.

I don't know what the Ao Kiji stuff is all about, I don't think it's to do with him joining the BB pirates unless he's thinking of going deep undercover because his personality and sense of justice has already been given to us. Aokiji is the last of the original 3 admirals who'd join up with BB honestly.

Cavendish doesn't stand a chance against Luffy if he's blocking his sword thrust in base like that while tired and Cavendish is fresh & enraged...

The Don Chinjao gratitude was predictable but only because of the last chapter so it's not so bad, and Oda kept it short but exciting. Now Luffy has powerful allies in the NW who we should definitely see again in the future.

Epic chapter. Barto made me laugh, a LOT. That was a good twist. A guy that strong acting like a schoolgirl for Luffy haha. Luffy just gained Barto as an ally and Chinjao's army without even knowing it.

I cant forsee this tourny coming to a fair conclusion, that just wont happen. I believe Luffy is STRONG(obviously) probably as strong as Dofla. But for the sake of the story he cant own Burgess at this stage.

ps. Oda really does suck at drawing female characters. Rebecca looks like Nami's twin. She definitely wont be joining the crew.

Just when you think one thing, Oda throws more stuff at you. This was an excellent chapter. I'm glad that Barto is not some punk ass guy, but instead some giant Luffy fan, that's an interesting development, and I look forward to seeing where it goes.

Rebecca as a Samurai? Wano seems it might be the next arc, but right now this arc is just getting better and better.

Luffy has become quite overpowered how easily he stopped cabbage his sword nice to see. Overal great chapter Bartolomeo being a fanboy is so funny hahahahaha he looked so evil at the beginning and i don't think Kuzan has joined blackbeards crew that would be kind of weird and really overpowered
