Well, Law says he needs sniping and recon abilities from Usopp and Robin, so, idk, perhaps recon = CoO ? You guys do know you can have one and not have the other, right? It's not like I'm ignoring Luffy not saying Robin has it, but we have panels just to show Robin realizing certain things (the explosion, only she kinda knew where the dwarf was) that hint her having CoO.

No Robin's recon comes under the fall of her being able to sprout eyes and ears anywhere, as with the limbs, she still has senses in those so she sees and hears what her bloomed eyes and ears do. That and there is many recon specialists in the world, they do not need CoO, when they got experience and training to notice things. Robin's experience running from the W.G./Marines gives her that.
-
She simply scattered her arms in the area the Marines were attacked.
In that case, then why Oda made Law ask for Haki in general instead of CoA specifically? Or insert a throwaway line about Robin only having CoO? I think Oda would be careful with his wording in order to not confuse the readers, especially because that scene was only there to let us know who had Haki and who hadn't.
in general, they were dealing with a logia, I thought it was made clear when Law said that those who don't posses haki should no go around CC, it clearly that Law was talking about CcA and not CcO also she clearly stated is too fast to follow but she clearly followed their next step and scatter her arm in that way and not all round the area the marines were which will be the only way of catching one If you can't follow their movements but instead she used in a single area because she new their next step like I mention above, this thing is so fast that Zoro had to use CcO to follow them because none of them noticed their movements at the restaurant.

though I agree with you I'm not sure this is clear, the area does seem quite big.
-
though I agree with you I'm not sure this is clear, the area does seem quite big.
the area is big but still, she only scatter in front of her and not on the sides (marines) but the she clearly followed them with CcO, which is the point we're trying to make but we gonna have to wait next chapter to see If the scatter is all around the place or just in one area as I suspect
-
So will we ever seeing fans/former fans from Brook in the new world?
It would be kinda funny that a bigshot in the new world was a Brook fan.Something I've been thinking about as well. Although I wasn't clear on what Robin (+ any others) mentioned about how well known he was in either the GL/ NW, or the entire world? In fact I was expecting him to have flocks of people on every island so far (except not PH, for observable reasons, (Oh, and Dressrosa since he hasn't really gone into Dressrosaโฆ yet)) . A bit disappointed on that front.
-
I don't think Robin has to have CoO Haki to catch the dwarf in this chapter. By logic alone she knows that the beings will run away from the marines. Then she has perhaps sound to genralize the direction and then she can let all those hands bloom. No need to know where exactly the Dwarf would be. And If she did know that then she would use less hands.

Why would they run from marines who had already run away? And there is no use in going again with the "if she knew where they were she would use less hands" VS "it's no use just knowing when you don't have the speed to actually catch with just a few hands".

Sound what sound, did you see any sound effect that we didn't see, does Dwarf doesn't even make a sound they just disappear in an instant and cannot be followed by the naked eye, so you have to use CcO in order to follow their movements, why use less hands when you're trying to catch something that will be moving at a high speed and you need to slow him down a bit, not that she was trying to slow them down though
-
Well i didn't see sound effects. But I also think that no author includes every sound the people in the manga make. I mean even normal walking makes a sound and we don't see that in every panel. And there is one effect right before she uses her hands but as it is not translated i don't know whatit means.
If she did have CoO she definitely would have used less hands as she doesn't need to use more. The thing about robins hands is that she can make them bloom anywhere and as such nobody can beat her with speed when she knows how they will move. Even if she tries to comensate for evasive maneuvers she could do that with fewer hands than she actually used. Just a concentrated wall of hands around one spot. It would be easier for her and less chance that something unrelated injures her hands.
And the dwarves even if not wanting to run away from the marines they would want to get away from the "crime scene" just to prevent a stronger marine superior to find them. I just included that to make a point about how the dwarves would go into the forest and away from the marine battleship unlike the marines (at least that is what makes the most sense, if it isn't like that then there would have to be a good reason)

stuff
ive seen you do this all the time and well, now im just plain ol curious, why is there a c in the middle? (CcO, CcA, CcC)

We've been seeing skulls quite often in the series. Your post says nothing.

sorry in advance for the ratass scanlation but was best I could find. You know that's pretty cool! It really does look like Brook and could have just been an early nod to him.
Jinbe's face appeared in Thriller Bark long before his reveal, maybe they are purposeful and connected?

Are you goofballs saying that any depiction of a human skull is a nod to Brooke lolllll.

Well it looks more like Ryuuma to me.

This has probably been discussed already but I did not see much of it in the first few pages of this thread, so . . .
Theory: Oda modelled the SH pirates after his heroes/literary heroes in general. He seems to do this a lot to create his characters. Laboon and Crocus are probably drawn from Moby Dick. Another example:
Usopp: Aesopp the writer, in name
Robin Hood, marksman & dishonesty-used-for-good
PinocchioThe OP mentioned Doctor Jekyll Mr Hyde for Chopper. So what of the rest of the SHs?

There is a thread about stuff like this. Oda's inspiration for One Piece or something.

It's pure fear of death that made Monet like that, Zoro even explained that after doing it. Also hurting his leg while underestimating Vergo, who has super strong CoA isn't so much limiting Sanji rather then hyping Vergo. Sanji still won the battle and we haven't seen the full force of anyone in the big 3.

What's the likelihood of BB pirates killing Diamond Jozu, and feeding his fruit to Shiryu, purely so that Zoro can have the chance to cut diamond?
-
I'm not really sure BB can give the DF to anyone. My guess is that he uses his yamiยฒ to suck the DF in (a stronger version of his DF-nullifying move), reason why he had to put the cover on WB (to have maximum darkness). There are just so many questions and so little answers it's hard to say.
But it would fit Zoro's theme of "I could never cut this but now I have to and I will or will die trying".

prty sure bb wont have like 7 fruits, there as to be a limit or else itll suck rly badly, therefore, im 90% sure he can ''steal'' fruits by killing the user as he did with wb, and then give it to his nakamas, there would be no point in chassing for demon fruit users if he couldnt give them to his nakamas imho. So id say its likely that we will see some fruits that have been seen earlier, used by some of the bb crew. But there are no clues as to which one. It's complete speculation for now, none of them as said something like ''oh i like this fruit'' or ''ehmm that would be useful''. But yea if id be them, id get jozu's fruit and give it to a swordman

I agree with you, but I think the diamondยฒ would be better suited for a melee fighter rather then someone who'll only use it for defense.

mhm yea i guess ur right

@Aedai:

You're probably refering to the panel in Alabasta after Mr. 1 is defeated when he said something along the lines of what are you gonna do next cut diamond and Zoro said if I must; that being huge forshadowing for it to happen. Shiliew is the most likely candidate for Zoro to fight in Blackbeard's crew, and I can't see him fighting Jozu so it is very probable to me.

so little question real fast, in the manga, did luffy use red hawk once or twice? Cuz in the anime, he uses it twice, once underwater, and once while being bitten by hody, the former looking alot more powerful then the ladder. Can we assume that a full health luffy, not underwater, can produce a much stronger red hawk?

As far as I remember,Luffy only used in once . But I certainly think red hawk will be stronger when isn't underwater
Luffy had already stated it before that the sea drained his power, which makes his power weaker than usual -

Luffy had already stated it before that the sea drained his power, which makes his power weaker than usualso from your answer i assume you dont watch the anime, he uses it on the noah while hody's bitting his shoulder, ill go ahead and re-read it to see if it also happens in the manga, prty sure he only uses it once tho. And im prty sure redhawk will be alot more powerful the next time we see it.
After re-reading, it was indeed anime only, so yea next time we see redhawk, itll mostlikely be outside the water, and itll be goddamn epic

I got pissed once I re-read that chapter, they made Hody faster than Luffy in the anime, I was like WTF is going on while in the manga Luffy just beat the s*** out of him in less than 2 seconds

I don't watch the episode (LOL why would luffy aiming at noah even though there's hody biting? ) Well if it was anime-only, I think it's not really trustable
Anime often makes a little glitch ,just like (I'm going to talk about anime a little,so sorry if anyone get spoiled a little) luffy vs shuzo ,luffy looks really incredible weak (shuzo looks like on admiral-level) then luffy goes giant. After that, luffy only needs about 1-2 attacks to beat Shuzo (Damn, that way even I think luffy will be ready to beat admiral without hard struggles) -

Anime is an adaptation of the manga, so it's only worth for colours prediction. -
Or, just like how we're going to get to hear the voices of over-shadowed characters and maybe lend weight to certain underground brokers. coughLuccicough

I'm always wondering if SHP havent's been fully exposed of their potensials
Of course the trio monsters are already strong, but how about the others?Let's just say Nami.I actually think Nami can be made into an admiral level .By looking at her power to control weather, she can use techniques such as ice age, advent of thunder โฆjust imagine the power .And even she can takes advantage of the fighting field ,ex: fighting in sea, she can use advanced tricks to make tsunami)

Nami can be made to admiral level. What about the monster trio. will they be 'gorosei' level at the end of the manga?
Facepalm

I only say the potential
And I think the most highest level in OP is yonkou, not gorosei (gorosei is just normal people with high power in government ,in my opinion)
It's just that Oda always try to keep the same level-gap from each SHP-s ,while I actually think Nami can go stronger than now -

Okay others are just face palming, with good reason, but not yet say why Nami can not be made admiral level.
I'll try;
Power & Skills =The admirals is more than controlling so ass-kicking elements. The admirals can fight without that, Nami can't. She used to use a quarterstaff to fight mid-to-close range, but once Usopp gave her the Clima-tact, she stopped using a staff for combat. Now she only uses the clima-tact. While its powerful, she uses it to maintain distance and no longer uses a staff to beat her opponent. Now they are in a region that she is outclassed, the only hope she has to use a staff in the classical sense to beat up an enemy is if they are lowest of fodder. And she doesn't have hope to 'catch up' before reach Raftel. Two other huge elements are experience and haki. Nami lacks both and never will compared to the monster trio.

She'll probably get some haki though and gain experience by the end of the series. The whole crew will have haki

I highly doubt the Shichibukai and Yonkou are all the same level of strength (actually screw it, we KNOW that's not the case now that Buggy's a Shichibukai).
And I think it's a really really bad guess to not only think the Gorusei are weak, but normal. I think it's pretty clear those five are very very abnormal. -

Being serious though, my guess are the Goresei are as powerful as the admirals individually or a bit stronger. -
I would love to see Zoro get a bit out of place to the point that him and Luffy have a legitimate fight which will establish the power gap between the two and set him straight. It'll be even more tense seeing as how Zoro is usually level-headed and has some sort of Pirate's code of honor that he understands.

That already happen in Whikey Peak and I don't think it will happening again, Zoro knows how strong Luffy is and he's loyalty to Luffy is the best one in the crew in my opinion

I don't think he has ever actually shown any indication that he thinks he's stronger than Luffy, except maybe the very first time they met where he threatened to cut him if he got in his way. In fact didn't he claim Luffy was the only one who could beat Lucci, and that if they tried to help, they would die? I'm pretty sure all this superiority talk is a purely fan made conundrum.

About combat skill ,I think could be covered with weather-tricks (the advanced one) ,experience can be gained through half grand line
I really forget about haki though well maybe not admiral-level ,but seeing the potential to use admiral-scale attacks ,..maybe sichibukai-level?
