I can only imagine whatever left obssesed Naruto fans trying to crap One Piece cuz of its doing now, silly people =/
Yah know, for a show that hasn't been on TV in ages its been doing pretty good in my opinion. Bleach has been on adult swim forever so its understandable why fans of that time would stay tuned. Newbie Naruto fans likely should be happy for a while, part 1 was fun.

One piece got a million views this week!!!!
-
Saw the ratings list myself as well.
I really like how while still in 3rd, One Piece is still staying on Naruto's tail, even into the millions. Maybe one of these days it'll actually push ahead of Naruto, but we may have to wait until Water 7 for that to start happening.
-
Its more due to the timeslot. And lets not get into "ONE PIECE HAS TO BEAT NARUTO". Lets just BE HAPPY that it gets the desired ratings to stay afloat,ok?
-
"Naruto" is more popular and it's in an earlier timeslot, I wouldn't jump the gun.
-
Sheesh, figures the one day I miss OP on Toonami is the one day it doesn't even need my help. :p
(Don't have Neilson or the like, I'm just sayin'.)

Well I never said it has to, just saying it'd be nice to see if it ever happened, but alright, nothing to start shouting over.

8. Sym-Bionic Titan - .88
9. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - .85
10. Inuyasha - .83
11. Cowboy Bebop - .80What these indeces indicate is a show's ratings relative to Toonami's average ratings. One Piece's premiere was 140% of Toonami's average ratings for the night. So far, it's pulling about 116% of the ratings, which I think is a pretty comfortable position. I do however worry if One Piece every goes below a 1 for an extended period of time. It's not in any real danger of that yet, but it will not bode well for the show if its index goes sub-1 while being in the first half of the block. If it stays somewhere around 1.1, we should be more than okay but of course we want better relative ratings than that. :D
This week, One Piece overtook Soul Eater on the index! Overall, Toonami was up exactly 200,000 viewers on average to its best results ever One Piece was up about 260,000 viewers from last week too. However, every show but Thundercats this week outperformed One Piece last week but it's not much to compare. Regardless, this was OP's best week since premiere week, so hopefully the trend continues to be upward.

..I'll bring the campfire and the s'mores, and we can all join hands and sing "We Are" by the fire.
But yeah, at the end of the day, great ratings, no matter what "place" it's in. You're right about that.

i love ONE PIECE thats why i came

Wow, this was OP's best showing since premiere week, easily. Nice upwards bump on the index, thanks to its retention out of Naruto, no doubt. (retention as whole does not matter, but raw numbers that are also high do ^^). I don't want to start celebrating yet, but man, OP's doing incredible so far. We may not be far off from a Naruto overtaking.

Best showing since premiere week? Did you not see the ratings from last week?
-
Try and actually READ my post before you question my analysis. One Piece's ratings relative to the average are far more important than raw ratings. Everything was up last week, not just One Piece. While everything fell back to earth THIS week, OP fell the least, and thus, its average skewed very high. That makes this week's numbers significantly more impressive than last week's.

But One Piece also got higher ratings on it's first week, which is what makes me question your post. I'm not trying to offend you or sound rude, just saying One Piece has been getting good ratings the past 4 weeks and you've seemed to forgotten about the first week.
-
But I said in my first post this was OP's best week since premiere week. :unsure:I haven't forgotten anything, considering this is all strictly data.
-
SIGH.
I think Kitsune Inferno means in the demographic Adult Swim wants. Which is 18 year old people and older.

No, I'm fairly certain that he just means that, based on the Rating Index – which, really, is the best measure to use, since it adjusts for Toonami as a whole doing better or worse in any given week -- last week's One Piece was the best showing since the premiere; 'since' being used in the non-inclusive sense here. Basically, the premiere is sort of an expected anomaly, since of course a lot of people will look into the premiere of a new show, but not all of them will stick with it. So, disregarding that, One Piece has been on a steady improvement every week since, which is great. That's really all he was trying to say, as far as I can tell.
-
But the week before last week scored one million while last week didnt. Unless he means in the demographic, he's spewing nonsense.

I wonder how many new people have become One Piece fans just from discovering One piece from the TV broadcast? Too bad there is no way to get good data on that.

Checking the collection's recent sales would be close enough.
-
All the collections are in the Top 100 best selling anime dvds, with Collection 1 being #16. This is Amazon data only.
-
I've been checking Amazon regularly for a while now the sales don't seem to have been affected since the Toonami airing. The show's ranking on Hulu is much higher than it was before. Still as fans this isn't enough to gauge how "One Piece" has really been doing since coming back to T.V.
And "One Piece" is a slow build show. It's only been back since May, give it time to pick up new fans.
-
Haven't the collections always been on the amazon top 100 thou? Soul eater was a great example of not being on the chart but when it showed on toonami the dvd skyrocketed into the top 100 on amazon.
-
"Soul Eater" was in the top 100 regularly when it was fairly new, but it just sprung back on and at a really high ranking once it came to Toonami. We can't say the same about "One Piece"

This isn't that big of a thing, but for those of you who were also noticing this problem, they finally fixed the episode titles on the DirecTV guide (and presumably other cable guides). Round 3! the Round-and-Round Roller Race! Coming this Saturday.

We fell back down to Earth this time, but this IS the second week above 1.2 in a row. Keeping that up, there's still a positive trend and that's a very good thing.

i would not be surprise. ONE PIECE is very good and.

Maybe…maybe that was his point!
One Piece is very good...and that's all that matters to the viewers. Period.

Was merely joshing him, was all. :D
Didn't mean anything offensive by it.Anyways it warms my heart to see one piece doing so well, now I know it's gonna be just OK.

Oh I know you were. Was hoping the exclamation point and dramaticism gave it away.
It's so awesome to see OP doing consistently better than Toonami Swim's expectations so far.

Wait where was it stated it's exceeding expectations?
-
it is right up there with NARUTO an BLECH.
-
I was expecting it to be up there with those two series speaking for myself, I just want to know if it was actually stated it exceeded the expectations of the people running Toonami.

When asked if that one ratings dip where One Piece went down to around 700,000 was worrisome on the OPP, didn't Jason Demarco say that around 700,000 was in line with their expectations for the premiere, and when it got more than that, they were surprised?
Though that doesn't really mean that they have the same expectations for the premiere that they have 5(?) episodes in, but that's the only time I recall them stating their expectations.
-
The thing is everyone always says the real battle in ratings start with the second episode, because the first one is usually expected to get great ratings due to more viewers wanting to tune in to check out a new show. I figured them expecting the premiere to be that low meant they weren't thinking much more of the series as a whole. So the ratings managing to consistently be above that was what I was talking about.
Yeah they never explicitly said they were expecting to be in that range every week so I know that's speculation on my part.
-
With the ratings sitting around 1 million, I wonder how much of a jump (if any at all) we will see when we get into Water Seven. I think it has the potential to take the number 1 spot above Naruto/Bleach.
-
I think it has the potential to take the #1 spot too, especially if Naruto and Bleach don't have much going on during the beginning of Water 7. I'm very excited to see the how ratings dynamic will be affected when we hit Aokiji's appearance.
