I'm sure I mentioned this last time when Lucci 1.5 was announced, but seeing Mihawk Ver.2 & Vivi NEO-DX really hit it home. How many of the existing POP's are going to get replaced/updated/re-released and what impact does it have on your collecting habits?
The way I see it, the following have all been shown post time skip and are sure to have Sailing Again's at some point:[hide]Smoker
Tashigi
Jinbe
Bonney
Kid
Killer[/hide]These guys have all been seen post timeskip, and whilst their designs may not have changed dramatically, minor changes in their appearance both now and earlier in the series could warrant re-sculpts. Some are also now quite old, a la Shanks and Mihawk:[hide]Bon Clay
Carue
Kuma
Crocodile
Hancock
Garp
Rayleigh
Akainu
Kizaru
Doflamingo[/hide]The remainder have not yet been see PTS, with 2 being deceased, however they could all see new versions being produced in the future:[hide]Bellemere
Ace
Marco
Vista
Enel
Moria
Arlong
Shiliew
Sadi[/hide]As I own the majority of these figures, bar Enel, Arlong, Kid, Killer & Shiliew, it does annoy me to think that MH are holding out on me, and every 2-3 years they'll release an "improved" version. Whilst I appreciate that the sculptors skills are always improving, it makes me think 2 things.
- I'm no longer going to hunt down expensive POP's as the likelihood is a better version will supersede it.
- I'm no longer going to buy figures solely based on whether I like the character if I think MH could have done a better job (Akainu, SA Luffy)
