Impel Down was mentioned for the first time in this set. Of course, Nami's pronunciation sounded strange to hear in English, but it was probably correct. I seem to make up strange ways of pronouncing words I've never heard before.
Yeah, it was correct. I'm curious though, what other way would you have thought of pronouncing that? 'Impel Down' always seemed very straightforward to me.

Yeah that's how I say it but I know the proper pronounciation is "Impel". It's just the way myself and those in my area speak I guess that determines which way I pronounce it.

I pronounced it as though it rhymed with pimple. When I heard "Im-pell", my jaw dropped. lol

FUNi pronounced Impel Down right. "Ihm-Pell". Like a caveman pointing at the character from the Alabasta arc and going "Him Pell" without the "H". The "Pel" part is even spelled in Japanese exactly the same as the Character Pell.
Technically it should be "In-Pell" with an N, however this is another Jinbe/Jimbe situation.
I think Oda may have written it with an M somewhere too, but I'm too tired to look it up.

Huh. I always pronounced it right. I thought it was fairly straight forward, lol. I guess I can see how some people would say it differently though.

I see what everyone means about the names sounding funny. It's not that I think they're being pronounced wrong, it's just the first time I'm hearing these words out loud in English (I don't read the manga out loud, of course), and that's a weird moment.

I know that there's a discrepancy between the n and m oftentimes, just like with Jinbe/Jimbe in Japanese-English translations. But why would it "technically" be Inpel? Impel is an actual word in English (though rarely used, it seems), and I figured that's where Oda got "Impel Down" from.

I don't know why people keep mentioning this, Right Stuf has always kept the season 4 voyages(and now season 5) at 23.99$ ever since the MSRP change when S4V1 came out.

-The latest opening for the Catalan dub in Spain (Kaze wo Sagashite) was subtitled and not dubbed.
-On the other hand, ending 4 for the Russian dub was released today:
I really would like an official explanation as to why Toei's being so difficult in licensing their theme songs for everybody,except the Russian dub a pass. It's all pretty confusing…

From my understanding the Russian dub has never had an official DVD release or anything tangible,that's the tradeoff I believe. Unless Im thinking of something else.

Sure, but those are classed under Weekly Special deals, and those don't apply for the Got Anime member discount like company-specific deals do. It's an extra $5 I'm saving, which isn't a lot, but every little bit helps

I'd say it's good to have this news too, it could help us see how our situation will be or if there's a decent chance of any change.
I'm not expecting songs to get dubbed again but it's certainly interesting to see how this problem is affecting other countries, and how the Russian dub (for now) manages to avoid it completely for, as of now, unknown reasons.
I would guess that the Russian dub will soon succumb to this policy as well at some point.

Ugh, I hate the Funimation player. If it's not stopping every 2 seconds, it just outright stops for over 5 minutes before stopping again! It's currently stuck at 0:23 for me.:getlost: So yeah…YT FTW! XP
Also, they decided to go w/ "Second Gear" over "Gear Second"? Okay, that is something I, personally, am not okay with. That's like reversing the way one says Kaio Ken times whatever. The Kaio Ken part always needs to be first...not the amount of times it's multiplied...same w/ SSJ lvls. So how is that gonna go in the dub when Luffy hints at Gear 3rd? Is he gonna say, "Third..." even though the Japanese VA clearly says "Gear..."? It's heavily implied, but it still kinda kills that little suspense.
As for the box art...I like it!

Don't worry, I saw your edit, and thanks for adding it. I saw it after I posted hence why I added my YT comment in my post. XD
And after seeing the whole trailer. It looks solid. I do like the way "Second Gear" is said, and I think I'll get used to it, but I still think reversing the wording was a taking a step backwards…albeit a small one.

If you're talking about Unlimited Adventure for the Wii, then that was not the case. Luffy did say "Gear Second". So yeah, I don't think Funi can fall back on it being for consistency.

Nah, it's cool man. I don't know either. Maybe Toei did have a say in the matter for all we know. But either which way, it's gonna be interesting when/if Funi does OP Movie 9…since during the scene where Luffy goes Gear 2nd...he really pronounces it clearly (mouth flaps and everything) as "Gia Secando!", so trying to fit in "Gear" at the end will be amusing. XD

It's not something that'll ruin the set for me, but it's still very unsettling for someone who has gotten accustomed to hearing and reading "Gear Second" for years prior to the Funi simulcast.Trailer's still great nonetheless.

Just curious, but how does it not make sense? Luffy's "Gears" are comparable to Goku's "Kaio Ken" or "SSJ lvls", as in the name of the "power up" comes before the lvl of strength behind it. For example, it's Kaio Ken X 3, not 3 times Kaio Ken. In this case, the "Gears" are like the "Gum-Gum" in Luffy's attacks. The "Gum-Gum" comes first, or else, it sounds awkward. At least, that's how I always viewed the "Gears" being utilized in their word placement.

Gear Second is something Luffy uses consistently after Enies Lobby.

Grammer be damned. XP If Unlimited Adventure did it, then grammer wasn't something that was being actively advocated. I gave my 2 cents why it made sense for "Gear" to come first. I'll live w/ Funi going w/ "Second Gear" 'cause there's nothing I can do about it, and I was okay w/ Sogeking being Sniper King (mainly due to it being a literal translation…slap on a subtitle on the Wanted Poster saying "Sniper King" and it's all good).

I guess. I just looked at "Gear Second" in Japanese as English words being used. Sogeking, to me, was using a Japanese word w/ an English word. Whatever though. I'm still curious how it'll translate to other scenes, like when Luffy first teases Gear 3rd.

The only way I see it working is if Luffy goes "Now…" instead of "Third..." Seeing as sometimes to fit mouth flaps Funimation has Colleen go "Now Gum Guuuum-" instead of "Gomu Gomu Noooo-" That way the audience still doesn't hear Luffy say "Third," and isn't spoiled.

I've already made peace with how incorrect "Gear Second" is grammatically, so I'm perfectly fine with "Second Gear".
That was probably one of the better trailers for Funi's One Piece that I've seen. Super pumped for July.

Well, a majority of the set focuses on them being fought, and then won over by Usopp, and then going on to fight against the Enies Lobby staff, so I'd say they're pretty significant.
