I don't really mind the whole Fairy type thing. I'm gonna have to get used to it anyway since it's basically confirmed lol
And I want a Ghost/Normal type >_>

I hope we get a Fairy-Ghost type Pokemon
If Fairy type turns out to be true (which I think can be likely at this point), I hope it will get translated to a more general name that reflects the folklore nature of the type. In swedish, we have the word "väsen", which is used for all supernatural creatures in folklore. I think this will be necessary because "fairy" is too much associated with "tinkerbell-like" fairies, even if fairy can be used to describe everything between goblins to nymph-like creatures and sometimes even demons!
Type names have gotten changed in translation before (such as esper -> psychic, or more famously, evil -> dark).
I also think that the fairy type's weaknesses makes sense. Fairy type represents nature and its spiritual manifestions and its weakness to poison represents pollution. Its weakness to steel can be linked to how many mythological creatures are weak to various types of metal (silver is common). Both poison and steel could also represent the negative effects on nature by industrialization.
@RobbyBevard:
Yeah, it resists dark and does double damage to it.
It's easy to overlook cause there's four other things it hurts and four things it doesn't.
Dark does the same thing to ghost and psychic types, while psychic destroys fight.
So fight/dark/psychic is a trio, like grass/water/fire is. Which is why its all the more interesting if these starters get those secondary typings, particularly in an order that still leaves them weak to the same starter they begin weak to.
It's not a perfect trio like G/W/F because while Psy is resistant to Fight and Fight is resistant to Dark, Dark is outright immune to Psy; that immunity or the other two's resistance would have to be changed to make a perfect loop.

But the term Fairy already exist ingame, its one of the egg types.
The Electric/Normal thing leads me to bleieve it might be a glass cannon of sorts. Like, it somwhow loses its electrical properties due to some gimmick.

This made my day
So Serebii put out some more info
The Karos Pokédex will be separated into three areas: Central Karos Pokédex, Coastal Karos Pokédex and Mountain Karos Pokédex
I guess the dex will be pretty big, not sure it will be that big new pokemon wise but we probably will get a lot of old pokemon in there.
I would love if they actually reorganized the "international" pokedex and made the families, instead of Electabuzz in Kanto section, Elekid in Johto and Electrivire in Sinnoh for example, they do that in the regional dexes, I guess they don't want to change the numbering.
Maybe there's a plot reason why the dex has three sections? The region is in self-conflict?
I'm just wondering why. Maybe it's just that big.
Black adn White 2's dex was also divided like that. Land, sea, and fishing. Any given spot could have one or all three.. sounds similar to that.
Or we just have a messload of critters at this point and the thing needs to be broken up for mini-objectives. It's going to be 700+ monsters after all.

But then it wouldn't be obvious which gen they're from, which is the only reason I want it to stay how it is lol. But I was thinking about that too =/ Maybe when they're done making Pokemon? so never

That was just an option, they seem to be meaning that its actually divided here.
More new stuff zoomed map.
Am I the only one that finds it weird that where Spain is supposed to be there is just sea lol, when the first trailer showed, Pikachu in France but the rest of Europe was there.

That seems to be the reasoning yes but I would like to see maybe have an option for an organized version atleast.
Seems like we can walk diagonally now, not just left, rigth, up and down.
There would always be the option the to order the dex by number.
Apparently, WPM's source is attempting to prove his validity by providing the English names for the new Pokes.
Gogoat = Gogoat
Yancham = Panchum
Yayakoma = Fletchling
Elikiteru = Helioptile
When the international Pokemon website is updated, we will finally know if this guy is legit.
It will be updated today 14, 15 in Japan.
WPM called Serebii and idiot for posting Mewtwo new forme saying it was fake, that guy has acted like an idiot for years and he always posts rumors from his trusted sources that are always wrong, if he somehow comes through with it this time I'll be surprised.
He has a pretty bad rep, I trust the Spanish guys more since they actually revealed the entire BW dex before the gaming came out, names and descrptions and even game info.

But didn't one of those guys also believe in Fairy type?
But didn't one of those guys also believe in Fairy type?
Yup but the Fairy Type thing has been discussed ever since we know Sylveon is a Nymph or based on one, they just made theories based on that(or someone else did) and try to pass it as inside info, still like I said yes if I have to trust someone I trust more on the Spanish guys then him.
I still remember him saying he had a reliable source that told him Belle was the league champion.

Welp, I have far less hope for the Pokebeach rumor, then.
At least we're getting a new type, regardless.

Well yeah, at this point I'm starting to believe the Fairy type theory or atleast a new type yeah.
I'm starting to hope Masuda actually reveals something that isn't on CoroCoro next Saturday, CoroCoro comes out Wednesday in Japan, the website should update on the same day, so that info is already out, I would mind yet another new pokemon that they saved for Smash but I would prefer that he would just get rid of the speculation and reveal Sylveon type/Mewtwo Forme but it seems they might be waiting for next month, well they have to reveal it next month for sure since the movie is in July 13.
Well official site just updated and afterall I was wrong and Pokebeach spoiler was rigth.
So basicly everything else the guy spoiled to him should be confirmed, Fairy type, etc.
Here is the rest of the spoiler.
- Fairy will be a new type. It is weak to Poison and Steel, immune to Dragon, super effective against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting, and Fire and Psychic-type Pokemon take half damage from it.
- Sylveon is Fairy-type. Some older Pokemon will be reclassified to Fairy, such as Mawile (Steel/Fairy).
- Mewtwo has two new formes, not just one. Both are activated via items.
- The professor's English name is Patrice.
- The Starter final evolutions are Fire/Psychic, Grass/Fighting, and Water/Dark.
- The first Gym is Bug, the second is Fairy, and the fourth is Fighting.
- A few attacks will be dual-typed.
- There will be a new type of battling style that Flying-type Pokemon and Pokemon with Levitate can participate in.
- You will be able to see a Pokemon's EVs at a certain in-game facility. You will be able to boost the EVs through mini-games. It will take about two hours to get one stat to max EVs.
I'm guessing moves like Muddy water will now be ground/water, lets see how the implement that it just seems confusing and birds battles seems to be the new contests/musicals I gues.
I guess he is going to post more stuff later since he said if the source info was confirmed(which is now with te names being exactly the ones he said) he would put the rest of the info.
–-----
Also the info is on Serebii site, we will be able to get diferent clothing ingame awesome :D so more costumization besides hair and skin color.
Haha just noticed the japanese site didn't update I guess the international sites just didn't give a crap and updated earlier since its spoiled already.
!Fire/Psychic starter? Yessss . . . . . .
I was so sick of Fire/Fighting types. But that Fox is going to be my new best friend.
I definitely like the new Fairy type, although I really do wish Ice and Grass would get some damn love for once. The big question now, of course, is how does Sylveon evolve?
Well poison and fire needed it more imo, I like that poison is strong against it and fire resists it.
So… What you're saying is... Mawile went from one of the weakest Pokemon, to having the ability to bring down Rayquaza, Giratina, and the like? lol
Mawile's Steel-typing still makes no sense.
I think X and Y will be the best Pokemon game since original Gold and Silver versions
The boxart looks rad. I hope the towns in the final build won't look as desolate.
What other Pokemon do you think will gain Fairy type? With Mawile apparently gaining Fairy type, I think A LOT if possible. lol
The Chansey line probably (oh boy if Blissey loses its Fighting weakness…), definitely the Snubble line (it's even called the Fairy Pokemon) and probably stuff like Clefairy, Jiggleypuff, and the like.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Every trainer's getting full-on splash vs. shots now? They were just window-dressing, but I don't mind that.
@The:

I'm guessing it will be pokemon from the egg group mostly, here is a list.
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Fairy_(Egg_Group)
I could see Togepi/Togetik/Togekiss losing the normal typing and becoming fairy flying or losing the flying typing instead.
Where was all the spoilers confirmed?
Where was all the spoilers confirmed?
The guy that sent the rumors/spoilers to Pokebeach gave him the new pokemon and moves english names and they match now that the website updated.
Well thats pretty cool.

Well, it still sucks in terms of stats and goes down with flamethrower easily.
By the way, doesn't the source know what the Fairy type resists?
Super-effective: Dragon, Dark, Fighting
Not very-effective: Fire, Psychic
Weaknesses: Poison, Steel
Resistances: ???
Immunities: Dragon

16 characters of maybe ice?
Wow awesome new news! I love that we can customize the trainer more~ And Fletchling is just an adorable name.
So the dual type attacks are confirmed now? That will make things a lot more complicated..I still don't know the type weaknesses by heart xD I'm not complaining though, I think it will be more fun and challenging, and I definitely need a challenge in Pokemon haha.
good riddance to 5dragon+magnezone teams
at least you get some reprieve instead of thinking what to sack to the next outrage
As for the new pokemons…..the goat looks pretty swag, but there isn't too much info yet which I'm cool with. Hope to go into this game as blind as possible.
New Fairy type is awesome and all, but…
The Starters' secondary type will be advantageous over the Starter they already have an advantage over? Weak. I thought the idea was that the starter you chose would eventually have an advantage over the starter your rival chose (or at least be on par). Eh, whatever. At least we don't get another Fire/Fighting starter.
So glad that the latest rumors seem to be coming true. If the Fairy type chart isn't true my heart will be broken.
Every generation I wish for more tools to get Primeape a little more viable. This gen isn't any different, give me an evolution, a great new ability, a physical priority move, or any combination of the three. Just give me more for my favorite Pokemon!
At least for my 2nd favorite Pokemon, Druddigon, I know his Gunk Shot in combination with Sheer Force and Life Orb will be absolutely brutal next gen. Well as long as faries are weakened to it that is.
Koffing/Weezing and Grimer/Muk will rise again!
I've always wanted to use a Koffing/Weezing before, and now, if these rumors are indeed true (which seems highly likely), I'll have an incentive to.

I feel your pain. Mine is Sandshrew. For a decade I wanted a secondary type (Preferably steel), a new ability, better stats, and to actually learn a ground move or two in its natural growth.
Then along comes Excadrill that does ALL those things, thus forever screwed Sandshrew. Sigh. (And even sandshrew's hidden ability is only sand rush, and not sand force. Meh.)
At least in BW2 it FINALLY added dig, earthquake and swordsdance to its natural moveset… but I've already played with those exact tm-ed or bred in moves so many times its meaningless now. (Not to mention they're at the end of its learn tree.)

Thats what we all hoped and would be much cooler.
Oh well, maybe next gen.

So it can lose it's poison resistance and become weak to steel? So it can fight dragon, dark and fighting, which it doesn't have a weakness to? That really wouldn't help it at all.
Though, since they're adding a new type and rebalancing old things that way, maybe there's hope some of the older inferior stat monsters get their stats rebalanced a bit. (though I doubt it, those didn't even change with the physical/special split.)
Also, according to Pokemon Smash, it seemed to have a disadvantage against Rock.
Also, according to Pokemon Smash, it seemed to have a disadvantage against Rock.
So it would lose its rock resistance too? Geez, that typing would only screw it up.
@RobbyBevard:

Rock could just resist it. Not Super-effective against it. Ground would still screw Rock.
Which is good, as Rock is my favorite type, but is terrible defensively and 80% of Rock Pokemon are defensive by nature.
So based on secondary typings of their evolutions, Fennekin is the OP starter of this generation and the easiest to start with. The thing gets to obliterate a bug gym, resist (x4 if evolved) a fairy gym, and obliterate a fighting gym.
Meanwhile chespin will struggle in the first gym, second if evolved, while froakie struggles in both second and fourth gym if evolved.
Also, hoping we have the elite four representing the water/fire/grass/electric types. It's still possible.
