Happy for Soma's success. And it could have done even better without the stock issues.
It will probably exceed my 200k after 1 month prediction.

What makes it more awesome is that it was, compared with Bakuman and AssClass, from debuting mangakas. Not if you consider tosh's past works in which he should at least formed a fandom.
I really do hope some new aspiring shounen authors learn from this and realize how much an author makes all the difference in the world. Tosh seems to be aware of it and look how he's faring right at the start of his shounen career.
It is quite notable, that two of the top three are pairs of a good artist and writer.
I mean, imagine if Bulge or Akaboshi, two example of great art, had an actual writer behind them.

What's Akaboshi??
Akaboshi - Ibun Suikoden, a manga loosely based on Chinese epic Water Margin. The precursor of Barrage on the throne of meh.
Judging by its latest chapter, HJ should be ending pretty soon (probably when they have enough material to fill its 3rd volume).

Your comment made me wonder about something.
Can you give me an example of a manga where the mangaka who imagined it in the first place decided to only do the art when serialized ? Like "Rabuta & Peace" in Bakuman.
I guess the opposite can frequently happen but cases where someone actually give up the story he created to someone else must be pretty rare.
^No idea, I'd have to research interviews and such to find out.
The creative process of specific manga isn't really out in the open unless the authors talk about it.
So anyways… Kiruko-san and Hungry Joker obviously has maybe a few weeks to go, either of these could end any chapter now.
The wrap-up speed, especially on HJ, is insane fast. It was almost like reading a digest LOL.
Cross Manage is the hardest one to tell. It's like it can end here, or it could go on.
If there's only two series ending, CM may have narrowly escaped the axe... again. Hopefully that's the case here.
Man, with Sket Dance and Medaka wrapping up, there's gonna be so many vacancy this year.
Good thing Jump was able to scoop up AC, HQ, Soma, and Saiki, that's going to help Jump a lot in the upcoming generation changes.
EDIT: The one-shot was freakin' hilarious. This one short one-shot is 100x funnier the entire run of Edison.
It had Joshikousei (Girls-High and Girls-Live) and B-gata H-kei vibes all over it.
I loved B Gata G Kei! I'll have to keep an eye out to see if this oneshot gets scanned…
Sket Dance is wrapping up?
Sket Dance is wrapping up?
Yes, and it has been for like a year now.
It's taking time giving closure to every single major characters one chapter at a time as the graduation draws near. This week reached one of the manga's major plot closure, so it's getting closer and closer to the end.
I loved B Gata G Kei! I'll have to keep an eye out to see if this oneshot gets scanned…
The entire one-shot chapter took place in the hallway of a school, with two girls chatting about superfluous friendship and tiers of school social scene, how to avoid being a loner, and wiggling into pre-established social circles. LOL
Having finished reading today's chapter, I now very much doubt Medaka Box is really ending.
Medaka Box has been fucking with us for ages. I don't even know what to think. Sket Dance though, I'm inclined to agree with Aohige that it's close to the end.
The fake endings must be how Justice League Unlimited did it, they set up the arcs to be functional series ending, and then when they got renewed, just did it again.
Yeah well um, I don't think it's fake this time.
Judging from the spoilers, it's pretty much impossible lol.
Seems like Koisuru Edison is higher than Gintama, Sket Dance and Beelzebub this week…
The only thing i have to say is: Wtf Jump voters!?

My speculation is that the author FINALLY noticed his ranking, freaked out, hired a bunch of people to vote for his comic and…yeah that's about it. Honestly there's no way Edison could EVER surpass Gintama...ever...EVER!
The gender swap arc of Gintama was freakin' hilarious.
Ginko = prettiest woman in gintama history LOL
I bet in a few weeks, when this arc is reflected in the polls, Gintama is gonna soar up.

I guess the next issue is coming out on Tuesday?Since the double issue comes in Japan on Saturday 27th.

Aohige, as a native Japanese yourself, you probably don't pay much attention to that, but why the hell is Gintama so hard to read? lol
I've been using manga to study Japanese for a couple of years now and I'm able to read One Piece, Jojo and even a few seinen without much problem, but I have no idea what's wrong with Gintama (or rather, what's wrong with me). It's like the vocabulary is on a completely different level. I'm about to give up here lol
It's not only a problem with the cultural references. Maybe it's because it's a gag manga or because it's too text-heavy.
Well, have you ever thought how hard it would be to translate complete in-the-gutter comedy?
Imagine translating a standup comedian who constantly utilizes puns, toilet humor, and utterly tasteless genitalia references, to another language.
That's pretty much Gintama.
Hahaha, yes, that's probably it. I don't know how Sorachi can get away with some of his jokes while running in Jump.
I think the historical setting doesn't help my vocabulary comprehension much, either.
Nice to see Kuroko's Basket on top. With the current arc, it will probably stay there for a while.
I like the fact that Medaka Box, despite not being very popular, got a natural ending. At least, IMO it doesn't feel like it was canceled.
I will look forward to the duo's next work if they decide to do another manga together.

That makes me sad, actually. This arc is useless and just a lame excuse to do fanservice showing the generation of miracles together. Nothing that has been shown so far was new information. Just get this Winter Cup over with and finish the manga while it still has some dignity.
What an immense top eight we have this week. (would say top ten just to annoy people who dislike Edison, but i'm not that hot on it either right now).
But who cares about any of that, I'm just gonna bask in that Kochikame cover. Mmmmmmmmmmm yes, that's what I like.

Well, I don't agree with you at all.
On-topic, according to Zeromcd, the one-shot from Kishimoto that was planned on SQ will also be printed on the issue of Jump next week. Looking forward to reading it.
Is Edison ranked yet ?
Word I hear on the Mario stuff in WSJ is that it'll be a bangai-hen. like a bonus to the main story. I'm having trouble keeping up though, as Moon Walker seems to be hopping between the two, and I can't tell if either is the old one-shot, or both are the same or if it's actually two new stories. It's all a bit of a mess.
@no maam: it has been for a good few weeks now.

Could I ask for….all of the details ?

most of it's been scanlated you know. You could just read it yourself. But yeah, it's been absolutely hilarious

Maybe 10-year-olds just have really bad taste.
Medaka Box (END)
Nice to see Kuroko's Basket on top. With the current arc, it will probably stay there for a while.

I think it's great that it got a natural end when so many people have vocally wanted this to get cut since day 1.Was it a perfect series? No.But stuff like the Minus arc and the Treasure Hunt were really great moments that i really enjoyed.
So Sket Dance is supposedly ending, Medaka is ending…there will be two open spots left which does not also include any potential axing that might occur soon looks at HJ and Kiruko. There's going to be a lot of holes open for new series. Wonder if this will be any help in keeping CM afloat for another volume.
So Medaka box ended? I might read it again just to see the ending, got tired of the manga back when I was reading it.
My weekly "how the fuck does Assclass still stay on top3" comment…
Kuroko no Basket is a baskelball manga? not sure I wan't to check it out, is it just normal basketball or is there anything else to it?

Kiruko's axe should fall pretty fast. I mean, they're literally facing the last boss now. LOL.
Hungry Joker should follow its end by like an issue.
So there will be three spots to fill very soon.
Guys who is the author manga Assassination Classroom
and Does he has done previously Manga
He's Yusei Matsui, author of Demon Detective Neuro Nougami (or however people want to say it this week), which was its own sort of big deal back when it was coming out.
Matsui Yuusei is his name, and you can find a list of his works by clicking the link…
BTW, 22/23 double issue is confirmed Saturday 4/27 release.
Double issues usually covers the following week.
This chapter (705) is published in issue 20.
Issue 22/23 will probably be published the Saturday of prior week, meaning the 27th. Is what I'm guessing. So,
issue 20 - 4/15 (One Piece 705)
issue 21 - 4/22 (One Piece 706)
issue 22/23 - 4/27 (One Piece 707)
issue 24 - 5/13 (One Piece 708)Is my guess.
Unless Oda takes a break separate from WSJ's schedule, but let's hope not.
I'm just good.
Thank you Maxy B & Deviant_Mugen
He was also sawaii chika (aka bobobo guy's) assistant which is where you can see some resemblance in his early artistic style (furious line work, wonky face faults, odd looking character designs in general).

It's pretty fun. A bit exaggerated, but nowhere near as much as Prince of Tennis (as far as I've read, at least).

funny to think that the two have gone such different directions now. Yoshio is doing (incredibly) cute kids comics with great proportions and soft lines, while Yusei has just taken that furious scratchy style and made it more consistent and suited to the shonen dynamic.
Both Kiruko-san and Hungry Joker entered the last boss phase in the same issue.
I can't tell which one's ending first lol.
OH GOD.
The Jump-characters Koro-sensei stickers are like the coolest thing ever.
The one with Gon is rly creepy and disturbing..
The Luffy one looks like he could be one of the Mr. Men lol
@Don:
The one with Gon is rly creepy and disturbing..
yeah!…and Gintoki looks like...exactly himself..
