Says you and everyone else who magically knows how Oda would develop a Logia Sanji right?
The fact is none of us know how his abilities would be effective in a Logia state , which is why I stopped arguing about it.
BUT what I do know and is obvious since he started doing it , is Sanji uses Heat/Fire to enhance the attack/power of his kicks,
which would obviously be enhanced by the fruit..The Intangibility would just serve to boost his defense.If you're gonna tell me now that Sanji's passion burns hotter than the Mera Mera's flame then idk if we should continue this discussion.
Personally I think Sanji is different from Luffy's case or any df user for that matter since he already uses Fire as his Weapon.
I'm fully aware he would have to refine these abilities , but I'm of the opinion that it's one of the appealing parts of him eating it: Developing df user.Hmm…well how exactly do you see it working out? Sanji has trained the way he fights for years, he's not just going to give it up. Lets see...the strongest Mera Mera move we saw Ace use was the Sun yeah? Condensing the flame into a 'sun' of bright white fire. Sanji's Diable Jambe is colored the exact same way when it's used. Is it as hot? I dunno, I have no clue whatsoever, there's nothing to base it on really. Same color flame doesn't have to mean = temperature, but is making the fire a few degrees hotter really going to improve Sanji much?
I agree, the appeal of the Mera Mera now is to see a developing Df user. That's why I want to see it go to a new person.

…blue flames? Really, that all you got for me when Sanji has already been using WHITE flames? Least that's how his Diable Jambe has been colored. Point is it's already close enough, blue flames would only be a visual thing by this point. how does Mera Mera make Diable Jambe hotter? He already incases his leg with very intense heat, he picks up the fruit and it'll just be...intenser? "He can throw suns to people or burn down islands"...do you know the character we're talking about here? The curly chef guy who's a physical fighter, uses his legs, good guy with no reason to burn down an island? Logia defense, because Haki isn't a thing. More durable to heat? Dude he wraps his body in fire already, without any harm at all.
You're wrong on this count as well, Shuusui IS a stronger sword which Zoro admitted himself. It's heavier for one, and brought forth a stronger pound huo when Zoro used it against Orz. It's a legendary sword for a reason, and Zoro has always cared about his sword, why would he NOT chase after one that was stolen?
I don't want Sanji to eat the fruit, I don't think it will be a good move by Oda if he do that, but saying that it won't make him stronger is kinda going too far with the defense. And a copy of Ace... For sure there is no way to use it on his own... And it is just long range like Akainu or Smoker... Cuz it is very effective against haki users as shown int he manga

I felt like it was kind of implied by Luffy that none of the crew would eat the mera mera. After Franky says no, Luffy becomes frustrated, which I took as Luffy thinking the otger 4 fruitless members wouldn't want it. I'm not saying that's the case but that's how I took it.
There are still a few ally characters to be introduced yet, I'm sure, so if I guessed I'd say one of them would eat the fruit. There's still Law's crew, Kinemon's friend, Violet, the one legged puppet, and maybe Momo if it turns out artificial fruits don't have "devils" in them.
Also any of them could be nakama or Sabi ;) -

Hey, others might think that but I don't. I want it to go to a new person, if anyone. :/ Course, Coby's 'style' right now is Garps/the seemingly default marine Rokushiki I don't want him to get the fruit either, but to anyone who would support that i'd say it'd give him some individuality.
I'm not saying there aren't different ways to use it either, the guys I quoted were literally saying he should throw around suns. That's not to Sanji's style. I'll admit though, I don't see any way of Sanji improving his style with Mera Mera, that's why i'm so against it. (His leg being a flamethrower? Fireball 'rankyaku'? Maybe.)

To those of you who've been asking me for my chapter reviews, my apologies for not doing them recently (and not responding to the requests too, no offense intended). I've never thought they were all that special, rather just large thought dumps, but I'll try to get back to it, starting now.

Cool color spread. Oda must be getting back into his comfort zone since he didn't include the entire crew. I love how Brook is being used as a clothesline.

We got the simple and logical answer for what happens to DF's after the user dies. It almost felt like it wasn't even worth mentioning, but it was still needed. And now we can go back to not caring anyway since death is so rare in this series.

I wasn't completely sold on the idea that Luffy would care that much about Ace's fruit, but in hindsight I should have known better. It elicits emotions from the reader, so it's only natural that Luffy would reinforce those. I'm surprised there isn't a little variation in his thinking to what Dofla expected, though. The guy managed to anticipate Luffy's thought process perfectly. I saw that mera thread was like 90 pages, which confirms that the fate of Ace's fruit is a huge topic of debate around here lately. Before this chapter, I had guessed that Luffy would wind up with the fruit and carry it around like Shanks did with the rubber one. But him asking Franky to eat it in this chapter really makes that seem a lot less likely. It seems like he'd be happy if anyone in his crew ate it, and it's hard to imagine all of them refusing. Nami especially doesn't seem like the type who'd give up a chance to be immune to most injuries, and Usopp to a lesser degree as well. But one of them getting it doesn't seem right at all. I also can't imagine it getting wasted on someone's weapon, like Zoro's "fire sword" or Usopp's Kabuto. So I guess I'm of the opinion that someone who isn't in the crew will eat it in this arc with Luffy's blessing.

I'm really liking the way Franky was handled in this chapter. Simple dialog that's not about cola or robots, well analyzed and logical, and still thoughtful to Luffy's feelings. Well, Franky never struck me as the type who'd avoid a trap anyway.

On the Zoro/Sanji/Kinemon side we have Kinemon completely vanishing for the entire chapter for some reason. I hope he got lost or something, because it'll feel like a small mistake if he's back with Zoro next chapter like nothing happened. No real updates with Zoro, who just keeps on chasing. Major plot development with Sanji, though. I don't really mind the whole nosebleed bit as long as it's not a threat to his life, because he's always been putty to a pretty girl flirting with him. Rather, I'm completely fascinated by this development. It's hard to get a definite read on Violet, but she has all the makings of a vixen. I really hope that's the case, because it would really test Sanji's values and could give him some much needed development in that area. I can't help but feel that Oda will take the easy way out on this, though. Making Violet a good person, deep down, who's stuck in a bad situation and having Sanji solve her problems in a better way than she had even imagined. But if that's the case, I at least hope Sanji doesn't do things the way she wants him to. He'll also probably need to get stabbed a couple times. Either way, she's going to be very important.

I almost didn't expect Luffy to reach the colosseum so easily and on time, but he did (thanks Franky!). I was also curious on whether or not Franky would participate (and likely surrender when he eventually had to fight Luffy), but that ship has sailed, thankfully. He's much better suited to work behind the scenes on this one while Luffy acts as the front stage distraction. I'm hoping that while Luffy competes, Franky can gather the intel and maybe even bust up whatever trap may have been set up for Luffy. I'm crossing my fingers for him fighting with the seat of spades or something behind the scenes to pull all this off. And with this, the 4 monsters in charge of destroying the factory are now all operating individually. This is probably how their total domination of Dressrosa begins, as they'll luckily wind up hitting it from all angles.

The one legged toy soldier is awesome, but the fact that he was compared to Diamante doesn't bode particularly well for… Diamante. He's probably going to be really important, but I have no idea how. At the very least, I really want to know what his crime is. He seems very polite and all.

Lucy. Hahahaha wow. That's gotta be the best gag since the timeskip. I died laughing. He couldn't have come up for a worse ending to the name if he tried. And then seeing Luffy destroy one of the strongest fodder guys with the Roshi beard gave me a huge smile. I feel like this tournament should introduce another major contender. Luffy and the Donquixote guys don't seem like enough for Oda. The tournament will really need another wild card or two that are actually participating. Of course, it has Franky, the old blind guy who seems to be Fujitora, the toy soldier, and possibly Dofla's other seats acting as wild cards who aren't participating, so the usual array of characters is there. Still though, the tournament itself could use a wider array as well, and I expect that it will. And the question isn't if Luffy's identity will be revealed, but when. My bet is on 2-3 chapters from now (that actually have tournament content).

Sure Sanji is the best swimmer in the crew and can also use Blue Walk (and become as fast/faster than Fishmen)…
Sanji can also use Diable Jambe underwater. He used it against the Kraken and will use it again unless he gets the DF then never again. Even if he used a coating bubble, the fire ability from the DF would only boil the water.
Him creating and learning Diable Jambe, working on it and his fighting style for two years only to eat a the flame fruit, (to me) would be quite ridiculous. It would be like; oh wait, had a good analogy but now it's gone, oh well. Anyway, Sanji getting the DF would suck, end of.Pertaining to his dreams. Sanji is the type of person to not just want to achieve his dream but also embrace it.
Say Sanji ate a DF before Fishman Island, he would've missed out a hell of a lot when it came to embracing his mermaid dream. Sanji's dreams alone should be the main factor against him eating any DF (except Absalom's :ninja:). His dreams are water based (for lack of a better word) and when it comes to that, Sanji values swimming and the ability to do just that.
So say Sanji eats the devil fruit and goes on to find the All Blue,
- how is he supposed to know its the All Blue (not every single species of fish will be jumping out of the ocean or will be close enough to the surface for Sanji to see them all).
- how can you enjoy fulfilling your own dream by just looking at it? How can you enjoy it that way? I know Sanji will be happy at seeing other people fulfilling their own dreams and enjoying them but what about himself?

Sanji doesnt need to use DJ inside the water ever again and if he does i am pretty sure he can pull it off , i mean even with all the boosting you gave to Sanji it was Luffy who fought Hody so what does it matter anyway .

Its actually good for Sanji that he learned to control flame which also foreshadows that he will eat Aces DF , now sanji is so strong without the DF so imagine him with it the difference would be like jimei in and out of water . As you see all your claims are worhless , i dont know if sanji will eat a DF or not but i am pretty sure he doesnt want to become a fish and it would be cool if you guys try to make sanji a cook instead of fish which he cooks . You guys are denying essence of sanji and trying to turn him something he is not , maybe inexperienced Sanji fans may buy your BS but i wont .
Also luffy is the one who has a dream about swimming ,he was pretty sad about it in fishmen island so wait for a development in that direction .

The mera mera fruit, IMO, is perfect for Sanji. I mean, he's a cook! Cooks play with fire! And he already have fire based techniques, which gives him experience in using the ability. Its not like he'll 100% depend on the DF, he's a good fighter without it but honestly he's not that strong. I think he needs a massive AOE attack like Luffy's giant elephant gun! Zoro have long range 3 swords! Franky's laser beam + General Franky! Robin's gigant mano or watever that's called. Nami's thunderstorm! Usopps black kabuto is kick-ass already. Brook is a rockstar! Even Chopper have monster point!
Oda should give him more asset aside from a kicking boots.
Flame Leg Sanji sounds good to me. :ninja:Though I honestly think that it's awkward for Sanji having a DF. But there is a 50% chance, I think.

I Always enjoyed reading these discussion threads and it gets pretty weird sometimes and it’s even more enjoyable that way but this thread went beyond that.
People now talk about rape, murder and reference other people’s religion figures in a joking manner, in a Shounen manga discussion thread no less, I’m not jumping to conclusions here but all I’m saying is it’s easy to insult and make fun of people, but it’s just as easy for other people to return the insult with a big grin on their faces, but lets just not do that in an OP forum. -

I still think it is Possible for Sanji to upgrade his Diable Jambe and turn into into a more powerful Butane Blue version without him needing to eat the Mera Mera no Mi.
I swear I was thinking the exact same thing, you beat me to it. But maybe it would be very dangerous to use and could even burn him if he uses it for too long.
