My friend and I watch one piece, and I made him watch it and he's caught up. However he will never admit the show is good just to bother me, he says it's mediocre instead. Lately he has been saying "Naruto is so much better than one piece, Sooooo much better" where then I cough up blood. Just note he knows naruto sucks which makes it even more spiteful.
Nardo and Bleh Thread III: Naruto is a terrible terrible manga

mind to explain? I was absent a long time from this forum and never really got it.
Basically it's a simple color-coded rating of just how bad the new Naruto chapter was. Anything above purple is some threat made upon our sanity.
The current flashback just makes me feel like I'm reading nausea itself. I get nothing out of it except a vague feeling that I'm going to vomit while reading it. I've lost track of time and place within Naruto. What is even happening? Is Hashirama recounting his secret love and regret from not killing himself sooner- especially since he can just be revived via ninjavoodoo- so that Sasuke doesn't destroy an empty, already destroyed village? How is this even relevant to whatever's happening in the war? Where did we even leave the war off?
The best you could say is that now we sort of know just how retarded Madara's motivation is (as with any other lovecancer Uchiha), which seems irrelevant from this whole eye in the sky ploy. MY BROTHER DIED AND SO DID I SO LET'S HYPNOTIZE EVERYONE INTO THE MATRIX.
This entire flashback is no less than sharingan red. Especially since actual sharingan is involved.
-
Because I don't take Naruto very seriously anymore, I have to come up with amusing things as I read chapters. Whenever I hear Hashirama I can't help but think of Futurama and those hilarious openings. Hashirama- now with bigger wood!
-

It's fairly self explanatory.
-Raikage Belt Gold is reserved for those exceedingly rare chapters that are actually good, or perhaps even awesome.
-Passaple Purple, of course, means the chapter was passable.
-Why Neji, Why? Blue means it was mostly passable, but with a few noticeably dumb momentsAnd so on. The closer it gets to Glossy Black, the worse the chapter is.
As for 600 Billion Rainbow Penises, that ranking is reserved for chapters that contain something so unbelievably bad and/or ridiculous that it becomes an instant meme. And The Heart is the only one we haven't used yet, as that ranking is reserved for when Sasuke makes his inevitable "redemption" and everyone forgives him.
-
reminds me of the rating system in Conans' "Clueless Gamer" Reviews.

Why is Sakura in the image for Passable Purple

I like how everyone trivializes the death of a person to a villain just to make their reasoning feel cheap.
People breakdown from less than that, why is the death of a close family member somehow "nothing and retarded"?
To make matters worse, he did WATCH HIM DIE. It would be very hard for him to jump sides now.
I'm not saying the Moon's eye plan isn't retarded though (how will people eat? Are you just going to sit there and watch them? etc, etc).
I do get the reasoning behind it though, Madara thinks any attempts at peace are in his own words "a childish dream".
The war broke him and now he's a giant buzzkill. Actually the biggest buzzkill the world has ever seen.
-
The problem as I see it is that theres very little to seperate the villains misfortunes from everyone elses. So in that way yes, their problems are trivial.
- Hashirama loses his younger brothers in a war and becomes the saintly super-hokage ninja god awesomeguy.
- Madara loses his younger brothers in a war and becomes the worlds biggest buzzkill.
Nothing EXTRA happened to Madara. Who knows how many people have experienced the exact same thing as him in the Narutoverse.
Its the same with Itachi: the entire reason given for his retcon-saintliness and Uchiha double-crossing is "he was a child during a war, so he doesn't like war". But that applies to almost the entire fucking cast of the series, so by that logic, everyone should be an Itachi.
Its not that bad things didn't happen to these people, its that the same bad things happened to everyone else, yet
- nobody else went crazy whackjob villain on the world
- The bad things happening to the villains are treated as special, deeply unique character forming events.

To be fair, the idea Kishi is trying to convey is that these dudes are looking beyond their own misfortune at the whole shitty world.
-
But still: What made just them do that, and not Ninja With Lost Loved Ones #1 through 21234?

Presumably, they're the ones with the power to do it.

Pretty much. The character actually sucking is another matter.
-
@The:
Good points about Uchihas and Nagito.
The problem with this is that it's completely logical, but not everyone thinks that way. This is why you have some soldiers with PTSD and go mentally unstable and some who come out with no issues at all.
They are the former. Except when someone tries to help them, they put their fingers in their ears and just start yelling "DARKNESS" really loudly.
And then do that flaming skeleton thingy and kill them. Then they somehow say it's Naruto's fault just because he was optimistic.
I'm noticing a pattern here.
-

I think the problem is that they aren't looking past their own desires/misfortune. They are forcing their ideal world on everyone instead of going off into their own little dream world and not adding to the kill count.
-

Well yeah. That's what makes them villains.
-
I had some time to spare and decided to look up some Naruto stuff. Now I wonder, why were all the other Jinchuuriki killed off-panel? Why were only Yugito (2), Naruto, Gaara and Bee shown before the whole zombie revival? Utakata (6), Roshi (4), Han (5), Yagura (3) and Fu (7) were all killed silently by the Akatsuki and nobody cares about it? Or why was Yugito killed in the first place given the protection of the Bijuu the Raikage holds so dear? He only protected Bee from going outside but let the village's other Jinchuuriki get captured? It's just sad to imagine that Kishi started to ignore other characters so early in the manga…
Edit: And why were we never shown one of Kisame's fights outside of the Konoha-related ones? He's referred to as "The Tailless Beast" yet we've never seen what that title's based on.
-
Presumably, they're the ones with the power to do it.
…So the world would be full of Madaras if the average ninja was stronger?
@pyromonki:The problem with this is that it's completely logical, but not everyone thinks that way. This is why you have some soldiers with PTSD and go mentally unstable and some who come out with no issues at all.
This is true. It is kind of amusing that since every villains past isn't worse than other peoples, every villain is basically a giant weak-willed pansy in comparison.
And thats the major issue: Kishimoto writes their pasts as if they're deeply profound and tragic. Its not "bad stuffed happened to this guy, and since he was emotionally fragile, it hurt him more than it would everyone else", its "Look at how awful this stuff he had to endure was! Much worse than everyone else! No wonder he's like this!"Or basically
@pyromonki:They are the former. Except when someone tries to help them, they put their fingers in their ears and just start yelling "DARKNESS" really loudly.

Yeah.
-
@The:
…So the world would be full of Madaras if the average ninja was stronger?
I guess the shitty world of Naruto isn't very geared towards emotional stability. So you have the crazy fucks like Orocihimaru and what have you
-
Well yeah. That's what makes them villains.
I think my issue with it is that Kishi tries to make it seem like every villain has a sad past like he only wants us to feel sorry for them. I like straight up villains. I don't always need them to have a tragic backstory to find them interesting. I like Hisoka, I like Medusa, I like Crocodile. They don't necessarily have any super sad backstories. But I like them all the same for their sadistic selves. I think it makes them better villains.
All these back stories have done in Naruto have made their current selves seem ridiculous. Yeah I get that the theme is war bad, love blaah and whatevers. But practically everyone had a childhood that mirrored Naruto or Sasuke's life. Just sweet kids warped by fighting. Or something.
If a good shrink existed in this universe there would be far less wars and horribly mal adjusted children.
-
@The:
…So the world would be full of Madaras if the average ninja was stronger?
Well, essentially yeah. I've seen people abuse their power while ordering some food at McDonalds.
Because the average ninjas are essentially weaker, the stronger ninja can just hit them with a "rolled-up-newspaper no jutsu" and tell them to sit back down.
I guess in hindsight, it would explain why the shadow clone technique is forbidden since it made Naruto ridiculously powerful in less than a year.
If a good shrink existed in this universe there would be far less wars and horribly mal adjusted children.
The adults doing fucked up stuff to children doesn't help.
"Hey, I'll get Gaara's uncle to try to kill him. To help him BUILD CHARACTER".

All this talk would've been fine and dandy, had the author not told us a couple of chapters ago, that all of their actions are actually a result of whimsical love juices sending a high concentration of chackra right into the contents of their thick skulls, which gives them magic eyes and makes them want to destroy everything in a fit of emo rage of DARKNESS.

That the Hyuuga are Konoha's strongest.
Looking at the mess that is Uchiha, one comes to appreciate villains like Kisame and Hidan who are merciless beasts and batshit insane respectively.
-
Maybe the Hyuuga really are the strongest!…in stability, at least.
-
Cheat at card games and doesn't drive you bat-shit insane! Maybe the Byakugan is the strongest…
-
Guys,I just remembered.
Back around the time when "Tobi!Obito!Tobito!" was finally revealed,we joked,JOKED that every Uchiha was doomed to become an angsty pile of darkness and that biological processeses occured within Uchiha boys when they hit a certain age.
FUCKING HELL.

The catch is that the awesome x-ray eyes come with an oppressive and dysfunctional caste system and if you're born two seconds after your brother you're branded with a tattoo that lights your brain on fire
-
I wonder how Kakashi got the Mangekyo sharingan when he's not an Uchiha given this explanation. And no, arguing that since its Obito's eye and Obito got the mangekyo in unlocked it in both is bullshit, since if it was brain chemical shit, the state of one eye can't affect the other, and Kakashi's sharingan has no contact with Obito's brain anymore
-

But does the awesome x-ray eyes cause the oppressive and dysfunctional caste system?
-
I think that the initial gush of radioactive chakra did a permanent mutation of the sharingan into mangekyo. I don't recall Tobirama saying anything about a continual Chernobyl-like leak.

He obtained it through training like Madara and Izuna did. From what I understand, the normal Sharingan activates due to too much love or a lack of love- not sure what it is- and the Mangekyou one when you either betray a dear friend or, like any normal individual, train.

Pffft.clearly micro-Kamui teleported necessary chemicals over to Kakashi's eye!

Danzo somehow had TEN magic eyballs embedded in his ARM. ANd they worked at undoing reality.
Somehow.
(But not at helping to count.)

Nope, pretty sure Obito had normal Sharingan unlocked before he transplantation(which is werid, where was the ANGST necessary for the love juice secretion?),and it was infact the Mangekyo that angted it's way into existance that fateful day when seeing Kakashi put his body part into Rin made Obito so excited.

what? Dude, Obito was right there when Rin died, that's why it activated.

He specifically means the eye in Kakashi's eyesocket.

Wait, we're talking about Kakashi right? He got it over the timeskip. I've no idea when Obito got his one, or rather I don't care; just talking about the good old copy ninja here.

Alright I'm talking crap here. Kakashi got his Mangekyou after Rin's death as well.

No, it was stated that too much love mutates the normal sharingan into the mangekyo. If what you're saying is the case, explain how Obito's unlocked when it did in the first place?

http://www.mangareader.net/naruto/605/4That´s another plot hole. He was not using the Mangekyou all this while until Kishi thought in part 2 "let´s start the Sharingan fest"

The ultimate eye techniques are definitely one of the worst things about Naruto, I mean the first two I could deal with
1. Tsukuyomi - The ultimate genjutsu that can actually completely distort time….. if you look into my eyes
2. Amaterasu - Black Hell fire that destroys everything it touches and can't be extinguished..... but you have to be in my vision
3. Susanoo - I grow a gigantic tengu armor that can't be broken!!!!! (has nothing to do with eyes!!!!)
plus it has a shield that can deflect anything
and a sword that once it pierces you once your sucked into an illusionary dream world
and it can summon giant meteorsoh wait there's more
4. Izangi - can undo reality!!!
5. Izanami -…... lets not even get into this one
5 ultimate eye techniques that have little to nothing to do with eyes!!!!
-
I liked the flashback until this chapter. The Madara change is way to fast. He just change from being good friend with Hashi to a "you're just a Senju" way to fast.
-

And it's all so unnecessary! Just having the ability to read opponent's movements, use occular genjutsu and copy any jutsu you see already makes the Sharingan ridiculously powerful.
-
Not to mention that the Rinnegan allows the user to have ALL the chakra-natures but all anyone ever does with it is the six paths jutsu (except Madara used fire style but he already had that).
-

(But not at helping to count.)This is still the DUMBEST moment in Naruto history.
It would've been clever for Kishi to use the illusion of Danzo having one left to make him double-take giving the opening.
But for him to completely forget… wow.
Let alone the sheer stupidity of dying 9 times in one fight and still proceeding. I guess the 10th time is the charm?
