I hope franky joins the tournament and kicks some asses
Yes, and his giant general is nowhere to be seen. Great.

you know, its just a bet in which if im not right i say "sorry i was wrong, you guys were right" and if i win it's the opposite :)
@Monkey:
well,i think its him,i just have a feeling,i forgot to add "in my opinion" in my previous post, sorry.anyway,my bet is on gabban :)
If you are fault will you change your avatar for a month to a message : "i was wrong", and if your are right, ill change mine to whatever you want for a month
nah, i he is several times stronger withouth the general.
So the blind man seems to be Fujitora after all. Not too surprising I suppose.
Now what I DO find surprising is the trap being in the form of a tournament since we had a thread discussion about Oda doing a Tournament arc and now all the sudden this is turning into one. How…....awkward.
It's like as if Oda was watching this forum, saw the thread, sees it as an neat idea, and took it upon himself to make it happen (or it could just be a coincidence).
nah, i he is several times stronger withouth the general.
That's what i meant. I don't like the general and im truly glad he will fight without it.
ah lol, ok. I want him to defeat his enemies with nipple lasers.
@Portgas-D-Ace:
The announcer said something about the tournament rules being "fighting to the death". Is that literal?
That was actually the toy soldier shooting at the little kids outside, who said that. The language was literal, but if you're asking if it's time to break out the "3rd Important Non-Flashback Death in One Piece" celebratory cakes and party decorations, I'd say that you're being a bit hasty.

Well, I don't think that thread was started until after Diamante and the Colosseum were mentioned, so it's more like Oda put the idea in our heads rather than the other way around.
So Zoro and Sanji will enter coliseum fight, Zoro to get back his sword and Sanji tog get Mera Mera no mi, while Franky and Kinemon will go search for Factory and Kinemons comrade.
Idk what Luffy is gonna do and DF users are probably prohibited from entering battle on colliseum, since prize is DF and winner probably has to eat it.
Just an guess.

That's what I was going to say…
The cover story, those revolutionaries came to Kaido's island to fetch Gaburu, so are the revolutionarys antagonising a yonkou? Or was Gaburu a revolutionary kidnapped by that very same yonkou? Doesn't make sense that the old lady was eager to let him leave if she suspected him to be an important figure.

It's not coincidence, there was mention of colloseum in a chapter before so that what gave an idea of tournament in One Piece, the topic was created as a speculation and the speculation came true ;) Not that weird xD

Franky and Luffy are the ones going to the coliseum, while Zoro, Kinemon and Sanji are after the fairies…

well, there are 5 members of doflas crew in the tournament
And we have..
franky
luffy
zoro
sanji
kinemon
Not hard to guess that everyone of the group will postpone the search for the factory for some fun in the arena
The water around the arena will be a serious disadvantage for DF users like Luffy. He seemed stunned to the point of cold sweat in that last panel.

The cover story this week says, "Captain Gaburu has returned [literally: come home]." Seems more likely that this island is the original home of Gaburu and these particular revolutionaries, but Gaburu has been gone for a while. Maybe killed by Kaidou for trying to get the factory workers to rebel?
Maybe the tournament doesn't start yet, or they can come in late… or maybe there should be teams of 5 and Franky with Luffy will fight with only 2 people in team so they will be handicapped. That won't be a problem at start, but later on when they will got to fight Flamingo's guys it will be hard and in last moment Kin, Zoro and Sanji comes to help them out!
Well, I think it's pretty obvious that Marco and other Whitebeard pirates will come by at the end. Every arc needs some awesome moment, otherwise it's boring. This will be the moment. Oda is really predictable at the moment, in my opinion.
Well, I don't think that thread was started until after Diamante and the Colosseum were mentioned, so it's more like Oda put the idea in our heads rather than the other way around.
Well now that you mentioned it, I went to check ch.700 again and checked the day the thread started and you're right. I guess my memory was a little off. So yeah, forget what I said then. lol
Thank you CC, Redon, Aohige
Coverpage
Hahaha, Caribou Guevara.
I must admit that this really caught me off-guard, even if the revolutionaries were bound to make an appearance sooner or later. Makes me wonder what they will do if they find out about Shirahoshi. We already considered that the Government or the Yonkou would be after such a "weapon", but the revolutionaries make sense too. After all there is no black and white in One Piece, and Dragon could turn out to be a major dick if it helps his cause.
Chapter
Alright, at this point there should be zero doubts about wether the blind guy is Fujitora. On top of all the evidence from 2 weeks ago, we now have him telling the shopowner to send the bill to "somewhere" (I wonder where to :getlost:) and his actions are perfectly in line with Akainu's orders. I treat it as a confirmed fact now, if it wasn't already.
I thought that Kinemon's and Zoro's little "clash" on the Sunny was just the logical consequence everyone would expect, and that it would have been weird if Oda didn't show any reaction from Kinemon. But it seems that this is really a huge deal for Wano in general, a plotpoint that needs to be resolved in some way. I doubt that they will fight for it, but I wonder how Zoro would react if the denizens of Wano simply demand the sword back. Taking this swordsman-mumbo-jambo-honor thing into consideration, Zoro never "rightfully" earned the sword. He fought the defiled zombie body of it's former owner, with Brook's shadow being responsible for the fighting part. Zoro himself said that he just takes the sword, but pretends that the fight never happened.
! I mean technically he doesn't even have the right to fight for it, be it against Kinemon or another Samurai from Wano. Unless he really doesn't give a shit and goes "lol I'm a pirate, deal with it" - mode.
I secretely hope that the "fairies" are the new race, or at least something that is really freakish and mind-blowing. The toys are alright, but thats about it. They don't make me drop my jaw, and I expected a bit more from the New World (I blame Toy Story for that).
Classic Franky is back. So I was right, when he shot the beam at Buffalo & Baby 5 with the weird excuse "that's what you get for trying to steal a man's cola" he really just mirrowed typical backstreet brawler "thug" behavior (you looked funny at me, that's why!). Anyway, I love how Franky fills another niche & has gets to profile himself, but a few more lines would have been nice. The chapter is already very short, I don't understand why Oda didn't use the opportunity to expand the whole scene a bit (maybe another page showing Franky scaring the shit out of the thug using his cyborg body or so).
Needless to say, the fighters from the Doflamingo family are all beyond awesome. Diamante looks really threatening with his eyes reveiled, and the Senor Pink guy is basically confirmed to be Sanji's "opponent" in some way.
Do I understand this right: Doflamingo is aware that Luffy is on Dressrosa? If so, I wonder what will happen to Nami and the others. If he assumes that Luffy participates in the colosseum, it is no stretch to think that he also orders his subordinates to secure the shore of the island.
As for next chapter, some of the Straw Hat's will definitely participate. Even if Luffy doesn't care about the fruit, the aim is still to get to the "big guys", those who know more about the factory. My bet on the for-sure participants:
Wishful thinking on my part:
Oh god, that Senior Pink guy looks so manly.
Well, I think it's pretty obvious that Marco and other Whitebeard pirates will come by at the end. Every arc needs some awesome moment, otherwise it's boring. This will be the moment.
lol .
Go back to reading Nardo kid.
Does the original Japanese text on the cover page imply that this "Revolutionist Gaburu" is affiliated with the Revolutionary Army that we are familiar with?

Lol, sorry about that. Seems I'll be the only one enjoying my knock-off merlot today. Oh well there's always next time.
Luffy - Diamante
Sanji - Senor Pink
Zoro - Lao G
Kinemon - Dellinger
Franky - Machvise
Atleasssssttttt off to read
I think that DD knows everything whats going on in his island. The tournament and the Mera Mera no Mi are just to lead there the SH and exactly Luffy the captain and the mos important member of the SH. This is all well planned by DD and they will for sure enter the tournament but something will go wrong and in some point we will se the Big Bosses enter the Arena. In this point i can immagine Zoro, Sanji and Kinemon entering the arena and also the blind guy "flying" from there down in the Arena.
P.S. Do you guys think that the Fairy that stole Zoro's sword was just sent there to split the SH???
Maybe the tournament doesn't start yet, or they can come in late… or maybe there should be teams of 5 and Franky with Luffy will fight with only 2 people in team so they will be handicapped. i was already said that is possible for the other 3 to return or break in Colosseum in the middle of the fight but no one see my post
A tournament of doflamingo's strongest swordsmen…
Seriously both that blind guy and Zoro should participate i'm begining to wonder how Zoro gonna make his name, i personally think to become the next strongest swordsmen and first mate of the strawhat crew he needs to start getting more infamous. Infamous in the east blue, semi in the grandline
but nice chapter
A tournament of doflamingo's strongest swordsmen…
Mistranslation. It was supposed to say gladiators.
CCC:
Really important clarification: Panda says that the four DD family fighters are "swordsmen," but that's not true. The word in question is "gladiator," but panda was tripped up by the fact that one of the kanji means "sword."
Cool chapter.
Had a funny feeling One Piece would be out.
Lol at you guys
Why must be a connection between Dragon's RA and the Revolutionists in Kaido's fav island in cover stories.
There 2 different/separe things. The only connection is the left wing political ideas of freedom
well, there are 5 members of doflas crew in the tournament
And we have..
franky
luffy
zoro
sanji
kinemonNot hard to guess that everyone of the group will postpone the search for the factory for some fun in the arena
Personally, i don´t think it´s that obvious. I doubt that Kinemon, Sanji and the rest will participate in the colosseum unless they are forced in some way but what would be the reason to force someone other than Luffy?

We already see this in past arcs
like Zoro "i heard ruckus so i came". So be ready to see this

Ah fair enough
Well with 5 members luffy might just jump in to fight
Luffy - Diamante
Sanji - Senor Pink
Zoro - Lao G
Kinemon - Dellinger
Franky - Machvise
Seems right, however I don't think it will go down as expected. I mean it's Oda. It's been mentioned that fighters from around the New World have gathered (meaning that we will have other strong guys too, maybe even some we'd recognise). I also have a feeling that the blind man (Fujitora) will enter too, maybe to stop a pirate getting their hands on a powerful logia fruit.
So I don't think we should be too sure that it will be the "Destroy Factory/ Save Samurai Team" vs the DD family in the colosseum because they match in numbers. Plus Zoro, Kinemon and Sanji are out chasing fairies, who robbed them right under their nose (they must be good to slip under the radar and take half the shit in the restaurant).
I'd say Luffy vs Diamante is going to happen, by looking back at the way DD addressed Diamante about the fruit and labelled him the King of the Colosseum, it's only right that Luffy takes him out.
Franky's skills being needed, but this time his thug nature haha. Been a while since we've seen the more calm and calculated side of Franky.
Personally, i don´t think it´s that obvious. I doubt that Kinemon, Sanji and the rest will participate in the colosseum unless they are forced in some way but what would be the reason to force someone other than Luffy?
Maybe the sword ends up being a price on the tournament. Senor Pink insults Sanji. Franky wants to beat up some people. It's not hard to find some stupid reasons.
I have no clue who will be in the tourney… For now I can only see Luffy and Franky in it... Zoro and co sperated from them after all right now...
But I hope it won't be theat predictable that Luffy will win it cuz he has "better" opponents there on the island with DoFla and Co
Also how did Zoro see the sword? There meant to be invisible and no one else seemed to see it?

What reason? They are pirates they don't need any reason to do whatever they like (forgot from what chapter is it).
See Zoro?
!
I think the coolest part of this chapter is Franky interrogating the thugs in the back alley. Glad that Oda's not forgetting Franky's gangster roots.
What reason? They are pirates they don't need any reason to do whatever they like (forgot from what chapter is it).
See Zoro?! http://i25.mangapanda.com/one-piece/223/one-piece-59537.jpg
Yes, they need reasons. They have a clear goal and Kinemon, Franky and Sanji have no reason whatsoever to join a tournament. Sanji is trying to lay low, Kinemon is there to save his brother and Franky took it upon himself this chapter to find teh factory. Only Luffy and Zoro are dumb enough to go to the colosseum.
That´s why i left Zoro out of my post
With Saji be Zoro's tail everywhere there be a sure fight for everyone
So the combats will be:
Luffy-Diamante
Zoro-Lao G
Franky-MachVice
Sanji- Señor Pink
Kinemon-Dellinger
Someone told it was like that :P
With the final fight with the blind guy.
Wouldn't be suprised if Rob Lucci turned up to take part in the tourny.
Franky doing the enforcer thing looked awesome, DD´s men, like all of them till now, look awesome, Zoro being a mini Mihawk not so awesome
I don't get why you don't like Zozo being a mini Mihawk?
@Grey:
Oh, and Marco and the rest should come to claim the fruit theirs.
Marco and the rest would probably give the fruit to Luffy anyways if they saw him there.
@javimgol:
I'm 200000% sure that Sanji is going to fight Señor Pink (Mister in Spanish is Señor, with Ñ, not N). Why? Because Oda said that Sanji's design was inspired in Buscemi's role in Reservoir Dogs, and the name of Buscemi in that movie is Mister Pink/Señor Rosa in Spanish.
If Oda did say that, then great catch on your part.
@Tainted:
So I get the feeling an "anomaly" is going to get the Mera Mera no mi… either by stealing it or having it "fall into their lap" throughout the course of the arc.
Uusopp. LMAO
I would like to see Shusui as second price in the tournament and an epic fight between the blind swordman and Zorro.
In which the blind swordman just wanted to test Zorros power and gives up.
Btw. is somewhere mentioned that Fujitora is one of the new admirals or even a member of the marines?
He seems a little like a freelancer to me.

Most of the time One Piece is rather comedic. They have an important task, yes. But it would be totally One Piece if they end up fighting in a tournament for no further reason. It would be enough if Luffy wants the fruit and his crew would just follow him.
