@Ukimix:
I'm very intrigued for what Oda will do with Dofla. Will he be a major character that will be defeated with out a fight? I could understand if that happens. But this is shounen and maybe readers wouldn't like that so much. So, how to give him a chance to fight his major battle, if he is so fucked right now? And how to do that in a beliavable way?
Well, resigning from the Warlords means he has zero obligations, he could even openly join forces with Kaido. And I don't mean joining his crew, but work as additional muscle when the Straw Hat's confront him. Basically as another, inofficial commander. A strong individual, opposed to his 500 artifcial zoans (which already reek of New World fodder).
Of course this is all speculation on my part, but my impression is that Kaido seems to be more of a quantity > quality type of guy. While Shanks sticks to a small group of extremely powerful characters, he relies on large numbers to keep his position as a Yonkou. The problem is that numbers don't work against everyone, especially due to the existence of kings haki. This might also be the reason why he didn't want to engage Shanks, who could probably decimate his whole fleet in an instant (opposed to Whitebeard, who coudn't use it due to his age and the fact that he was already busy with the Admirals).
That's why I think that Kaido is the perfect first Yonkou for the Straw Hats to tackle. Luffy can take on Kaido in a desperate plotbattle (Crocodile style), Zoro & Sanji (possibly Franky) get to grow on the stronger Zoans of his crew (maybe even Drake), and we get the inevitable battle between Law and Doflamingo.
