Well, I certainly don't care about it.
-
Nintendo owns Pokemon. Doesn't matter if Game Freak came up with it or makes all the games. Game Freak can't take Pokemon if it leaves. Nintendo Owns it.
It's like Halo and Microsoft. When Bungie left, they didn't get to take Halo with them. Microsoft just gave Halo to 343 then. If Game Freak left, quit, or whatever, Pokemon would be given to another developer to make.

Anyone notice how the money given has increased so much every generation(especially this one)?
By the time I got to the Elite Four I was practically a millionaire already

Maybe you have gotten better at making money as you grew up

Nah, they throw it at you in bunches now, with all the rich boys, ladies, veterans, and whatnot
-
Yeah, the games have made it MUCH easier to make it through the games for the little kiddies. They give enough money to buy all the pokeballs, potions and repels you want (though getting all the TMs will cost you.) They've also got a doctor in the middle of every dungeon now.
I've been replaying Green and the difficulty is not nostalgically remembered,it was legitimately harder back in the day…. though the cash and difficulty does streamline a bit once you get a full team and a bit further in.
Infinite use tms was brilliant too, since it gets you to actually try moves out, but thats honestly something they needed all along.
-
Good memories, I remember the early gyms were a bitch to handle in Green. It definintely got much easier with a full team, but the first steps were really difficult.
-
They need to get rid of HMs…

@The:
They need to get rid of HMs…
In BW1, you didn't need any HMs to proceed through the main game.
In BW2, you only needed Surf and maybe Strength. I'm forgot during my White2 playthrough, but I'm going through Black 2 so maybe I'll see. But considering Surf is like a really good move anyway…
-
I've always ended up with a crapton of money in every Pokemon game I've played.
Mainly because I only spend it on Ultra Balls.

At least you can UNLEARN them now. Right? If I recall from White I believe you can unlearn them unlike earlier gen's where it was forever on that pokemon.
Man was I pissed as a kid when I taught my Pikachu flash for that first cave.

I think we can unlearn them since DP.
Yeah it would be annoying because I would have to go capture a new one, they made HM salves unecessary for BW and BW 2 main quest so if they keep that trend we probably wont bother much, Surf and Waterfall are good moves anyway.
-
HMs have been unlearnable since the Move Deleter was introduced. Hell, it's why the Move Deleter even exists.
-
Haven't been around every gen, so didn't know exactly when it was brought in. I did have Platinum, then on to White. So gues last two I had both had it.
They should make it so that the HM's are ONLY useful in going to secret or optional places. If you want to do the bare bones of the story, yoou can get by without them. As said above Surf and Waterfall are very good moves regardless so usually have them on at least one party member. But still be nice to have them be optional.
-
Wasn't there one in Blackthorn City? And every game thereafter?

Wasn't there one in Blackthorn City? And every game thereafter?
For some reason I though that was added in HG/SS weird.
-
My issues with HMs could be easilly fixed if you carry around a Pokemon in the party that have a natural assortment of feild skills that are independant from the four you can use in battles. It wasn't an issue in BW since it was mianly used for optional exploration, but I still found it kind of lame to bring HM slaves. Especially for FLY, since I don't use flying types on any kind of playthrough. And FLY is a lame move too.
-
I promised myself I would never buy another Pokémon game, but this honestly looks pretty interesting. Curse you, Nintendo.

I certainly remember one in Lilycove City when I was playing my Ruby.

I happen to enjoy the convenience of fly. I put it on my Golurk as a means of temporary emergency escape in double battles where my other Pokémon uses a move that effects the entire field. Earthquake for example.

They're all ridiculously addictive for a while, then after a while you grow bored and regret buying it. It's the same with MMORPGs for a lot of people.
-
I'm getting X/Y to try out the new 3d function on my 3dsXL. Honsetly I thought black and white 2 did a lot of things right, such as more variety, and the tournament. Although I feel like there is some more praise/acknowledgement towards your character needed, hey you beat all the champions in like 5 generations, that's a big deal!
I'm hoping they'll just remove the whole HM formula, that's the only issue I really have with pokemon at the moment.
-

Wouldn't that apply to any game then? many people finish games and then play them again later, specially with RPGs and MMOs atleast thats my case since its my favourite genre, I still play BW2 when I'm in the mood, I have played the Suikoden games for example a bunch of times each, RPGs are made to be played more then other games normally.
Still not going to debate your taste people get bored with what they get bored, I get bored if I play two races of a need for speed game :D.

Yeah, I only ever buy Dusk Balls and Repels. So my bag is full of a ton of those, and Rare Candies I never use except on pokes that need to happiness evolve

You know what I love about Join Avenue is that, if you have a barber, and after you've leveled the pokemon up a bit, you can do a happiness evolution from start to finish in a matter of minutes.
-
@ Getsuga: Hey, I'm actually fond of RPGs (both Japanese and western ones) so I'm not sure what you're implying with NFS comment. But regardless, I think the problem with Pokémon games is that you have to erase your save file to start over. That stings after spending so much time on it, and that's when I usually regret buying it in the first place.

Thats when you trade everything (or at least the handful of critters and items you care about) over to a different game. THEN start fresh.

Or catch the thing in a Friend Ball and give one haircut.

The NFS comment was my example of games that bore me, nothing directed to you, I don't feel the need to restart the game so maybe thats why I don't have that problem.

I only use Duskballs almost now, why not give the rare candies? I give them when I get one, they dont really contribute much for the hapiness I believe, just go to Castelia bridge and walk around there for like 5 minutes and their hapiness should go pretty high, or give them vitamins.
Like I said the other day, I don't spend money on much either, just pokeballs when I still need them and Vitamins when I'm training something.
-
I usually try to use a ball that looks cool for that pokemon. Or else I use the normal ball if i can.
You know a pokeball that matches the pokemon type or color. IDK, just prefer it that way. When throwing out say a dusk ball, its neat to see like Haunter or Espion pop out. Feels like it fits.
So i never really use ultra balls if I can get by. Usually only use them on all the legendary's. They tend to be in all the same pokeball, since be too hard to catch them otherwise.
-
Dusk balls at nigth or inside caves have a better capture ratio then Ultra Balls I believe.

Same here. I have no problem using a net ball on, say, a Goldeen or a Corphish, but I would hate to use it on a Lapras (in which case I would use a dive ball).

Yea I know, but unless the pokemon is UNIQUE, like a legendary i don't care how long it takes me to capture said pokemon. I try and get them captured with a pokeball that fits lore style like caterpie in a net ball or water pokemon in a water ball. Or else I try and fit color wise, like I said above a dusk ball with a espion or something.
just kind of bugs me when half my team is coming out of a red normal pokeball then all of a sudden I toss an ultra ball and guaradose comes out. It just bugs me. Why is his ball yellow and silver like that and not like all the rest. But I'm fine with balls that fit the pokemon nature or color. purely for aesthetic reasons, not capture percent.

I meant for the legendaries sorry should have specified, to make it easier on yourself.
Well I like to catch legendaries with Quick Balls, I actually have a lot caugth on them otheirwse its usually Dusk Balls, as for other types of ball I do use specific type of balls on pokemon that are caught easier by them if I have them but I don't buy them to use them to capture something, maybe they could customize balls like in DP but in a better way in this game, like actually customizing or changing the type of pokeball after the pokemon is already caugth instead of putting stickers that give specials effects when coming out.

I would really love that. I don't get why you can't transfer a pokemon into a new pokeball after you catch it. Or you know recolor it, put stickers ect on it.
You know put the pokemons name outside, color scheme it how you want, maybe some little logo like a lightning bolt if that type, ect. Let you customize the ball. Just seems like in real life "trainers" woud have done this.

The earlier games had wrappers you could put on them that would give a different special effect when they popped that was pretty customizable. (hearts and music notes and fireworks and such.) Not sure why they did away with that.
However, you couldn't take a thing out of your party when it had one on, so that kind of sucked.

Yea i seem to recal diamond having some sort of things you could do for your pokeball. Wasn't it kind of related to the whole thing with the pokemon festivals or constests or whatever that thing is where you have them look pretty.
But definately surprised that they removed it and not improved it. Seems like something that fans would gobble up, the option to customize their pokeballs per pokemon.

It's one of those small, cool things that should have remained in the series after Generation IV but for some reason were discarded. Personally, the one that hurts me most is that Generation V didn't allow you to have pokes walking behind you considering it was in HG/SS.
And now with the shift to 3D I'd wager that feature won't be coming back.

Poke-1x
Great-1.5x
Ultra-2x
Dusk-3.5x
Timer-4x (where it tops out)
Quick-5x(This one got buffed in 5th generation) -
Timer balls have deceiving publicity.
-
ALL OF THE BALLS.
-
Dusk-3.5x
Only at night and in cave, I know you realized that but I was just warning anyone who'd try and use them during the day.
-
I really only like to use Luxury Balls and Premier Balls.
They look the snazziest.
-
I love the lightshow that a Timer ball gives off when you send out a pokemon from it.
My fav moment tho was catching Zekrom in a premier ball!

Found this on tumblr, though someone said it was a fake… which is a shame because that bird looks like such a BAMF

Chatot or something like that

Its fake apparently the japanese is off and its way to soon for CoroCoro scans to come out but yeah that bird looks pretty cool.

Mhm just found a tumblr called 'Fantastic Fakemon' (my god some of these bitches are so majestic like this holy shit if that were real… <3) and it was on there and apparently it was the result of a threeway collab.
Seriously... I know they're fake but daaamn. There are also evolution speculations and the sorts.
And I recall not being allowed to post about fakemon or something?
Couldn't give two shits and a barrel of sugar tbh, we need amusing somehow.
