also, you suddenly want to go buy Pokemon cards again, just to hear the sound of the booster packs opening.

for me it was the feeling and not the sound of opening them. especially when you were able to tear it open just perfected so you didn't look like a noob and just tore the fucking thing completely apart. actually doing it that way did have a nice sound. :)
and fuck yeah. chips challenge up in here.
it was one of my happiest childhood days when a family friend gave me all of his childrens old pokemon cards.
a large bag stuffed with 800+ cards @_@
i remember getting plenty of rares and shinies out of that, including my first gengar and charizard.
Hot dang, this thread almost brought me to tears. I remember wasting oh so many hours of my life on Crash Bandicoot 1, 2 and 3. Chips Challenge was one of the games I used to play on our windows 95 and man did it drive me crazy. I remember failing some levels on purpose enough number of times so that the game would ask me if I want to skip it, lol.
And No Maam, first time I saw your current avatar I recognised the highney dude. But for the life of me I couldn't remember which cartoon he was from, since I didn't watch Cow and Chicken often. I only remember him due to the link with I am Weasel(Yeah I watched that, don't judge me). And that honey, explains my search history for 'Royal Hineyness', 'Cartoon Ass Guy', 'Red ass-man', and 'Mr. Hiney'
I hated Nickelodeon. Their shows weirded me out more often than not, especially this one messed up show called 'Aaah!! Real Monsters'. IIRC, they used toenails as currency?! WTF?! But that's not saying Cartoon Network didn't have its share of bizzare shit. I stayed up late one night and watched this cartoon called Fat Dog Mendoza. I had no idea what was going on. On retrospect, these shows/characters were different and original I guess. They just didn't sit right with me as a kid.
I used to imagine myself as a biker dodging obstacles, lol. There's another thing I thought only I did. Ah to be young and naive again.
Oh yeah! Chip's Challenge. That game was fun. I played it on my cousin's crappy PC while I was on vacation… because there was nothing else to do. I made it really far and never saw the end of it.
There was this other game too. Played on PC during the Atari era. Something with snowboarding down an endless hill, dodging people and rocks, performing stunts and avoiding getting eaten by these ridiculously annoying yetis.
And this one isn't too nostalgic, but I remember playing Icy Tower in computer classed during middle school. I had the high scores.

Why would I judge you for watching such an awesome show ?
And I not only liked Fat Dog Mendoza, but recently posted an episode here. I really enjoyed the show because it was that unusual.
Here's the episode (part two will be in suggested videos)
Got this today!
!
I feel like a kid again.
aw yeaaaaaaaaah
I just rediscovered a game, which name I hadforgotten. I found it by pure chance.

Chip's challenge anyone?
Hells yes. Probably the first video game I ever played. They had it on the classroom computer in kindergarten, but removed it when it was apparent that some of us were having way too much fun.
Does someone remember "Chupa Caps"?
I was collecting them and playing with them as a child.
I used to just put it on my finger and spin it around.

I always did this with CDs.
Speaking of CDs, I remember one Christmas when my mom took old CDs and stuck them on the wall in the shape of a Christmas tree. I loved how shiny it was And cost-effective, too!

ehrm, you do know they are talking about using the pencil/finger to rewind the tape so that it goes back in if it has reeled out of the cassette trapped?:ninja:
The Christmas cd tree thing is cool though
I could get even more old school and make a picture of a vinyl record and a coin and comment on how our kids, I mean, any kids don't know what the connection is.

… Never mind. I think I remember doing that too.
Anyone else remember this guy ?
This was the exact version I once had, I actualy prefer this one to the bald ones.

I had this one
That looks…..pretty bad, actualy. Hell the robotic arm looks horribly fake and cheap.
I also loved the guy who basicly had a belly made out of green slime that swelled out when you squeezed him. Was really sad when he popped :(

My version had a transparent plastic hand but at least it was molded in great detail
this looks like someone stuck a fork on the guy :P
action man used to be my favourite bath toy when i was a kid.
(i had the one with the windable arms, so when you released it he'd start swimming)
Just came across this image today and I stared at it a minute before I realised.

Good old crappy, sluggish computers. I remember this screen almost too well.
All the good memories of playing my grandparents' computers with my cousins are coming back. Ah, Nostalgia trips <3
I miss…newsgroups. They are still around, but you have to pay for the service and there really aren't many good discussions happening there. These style of forums are superior in most ways, but...nostalgia.

When you switched off Windows 95/98 via start menu, this screen would appear informing you its alright to press the power button.

Oh that I know, I was just wondering what kind of system that was grabbed off of seeing as I never remember seeing that screen in oragne
IRC reminded me of this.

I used to write stories and save them all on these until I ran out of space. Then one day I lost all of them and got so sad. :(
Always loved the sounds they made, though. I'd flick that silver metal thingy back and forth to hear the sound. Fun fun.~[/hide]

The beautiful sound of my childhood :'D
I always liked that sound too.
'Cept I 19 when I got Windows 95.
These are what I used to have to buy to store data for college projects
I really wish I still had my 95. I want to play so many of my old games but 7 doesn't allow for that D:< My 95 was still working, but my grandma went and gave it away without telling me. I hope whoever got it and my 98 really enjoyed my badly written pre-teen fanfiction.

I grew up of these
i've been looking at ren and stimpy vids on youtube, and i gotta say that Ren is one fucked up individual. XD
i used to watch it from time to time, but i guess most of what was happening didn't really register in my mind.
Having watched the Tintin movie over the past week:
So I was craving ice-cream (as usual), when a random memory suddenly popped in my head, of how I used to pour fruit juice into ice-cube trays with toothpicks sticking out, so that when they froze they would be like mini fruit popsicles. Delicious, and really easy to do.
I miss that a lot.
I still do that nowadays. Sporadically, of course.
Except that I use Coke instead.
I used to do that with those little quark desserts that came with a special plastic stick to make ice lollipops.
Good times…
I was going through my drawers dedicated wholly to all of mine and my sisters' old computer games earlier today and I came across something I had completely forgotten. My old "Worms" CDs. All the million good memories came back to me that instant, and gee, those things have to be the games I've played the most with my friends. Reminiscing all that truly made my day. I miss those good times.
Sadly, the games won't work on my shoddy XP due to them being coded for 95, but I still have my memories. That's more than enough.

Funny story~…

My favorite cartons as a kid! God I loved them.
There are also a lot of them that are like fragments of a dream in the back of my head. I need just a bit more and I would remember them, really hard to describe the feeling.

Anyone remember this song
!
!
Still the best war-game to me. Today's games just aren't as entertaining and amusing~
a music video that reminds me of why i loved DBZ.
when you remove the filler, there was so much actual fighting going on. i could watch this shit all day.
i wish more anime would show full blow-for-blow fighting like this.
