@Dryish:
Aww, shucks. Thank you everyone.
It was all pretty swell. I have been looking for a part-time job recently since I'm planning two different trips abroad this year, like some of you probably already know, but so far I've been pretty lazy and haven't actively hunted for any extra income. My Mom, however, chanced upon a job advertisement on the employment agency's website earlier this week and showed it to me, and I figured it would be the perfect opportunity. The National Archives want a part-time (the job was especially advertised for students) hall attendant that would work for 15 hours a week, 3 hours a day, with a reasonably good salary (15e an hour/~900e a month).
So I filled in an online application form, sent it in, and phoned the HR consultant responsible for sorting them out a day later on Wednesday. And to my surprise she wanted to see me right away, so I went there on Thursday morning (real fast, I know) and had a great interview with her. She then phoned the older man in charge of the actual hiring process at the National Archives and got me another interview with him for Friday morning - two days after I had first contacted her. Now I've been to two different interviews, and even though the latter one didn't go as well as the first one due to the fact that the Archives official was an older, very matter-of-fact person and thus harder to make contact with, they both told me I seem perfectly suitable for the task. They're interviewing someone else on Monday and choosing between the two of us sometime next week.
All in all, it's pretty big for me personally. I don't dare to hope for anything, though. Might still jinx it.
You'll get it for sure ;)
but what is a 'e' … is it a '€'? Why would you write 'e'? :S shot
@MetaMario:
It was the highest I've ever won on a scratch-off, second-highest being…..1/20th that amount.
I got it totally expecting to lose as usual, but when I squinted my eyes and saw what I won.....boy, was I stunned. Then again, I've recently been playing the lottery like a mad-man, just waiting for my luck to go somewhere. Aaand….it did! :)
Totally worth walking in the freezing cold to get it.
@Dryish: I don't want to jinx it for you, but hopefully you'll get picked over the other applicant. Fingers crossed!
You know, I find dropping coins into the gutter more fun than gambling. Most of the time they go striaght in, but sometimes you get lucky and they bounce off the grills and then you get another go :)
My sarcasm is dampened by the fact you won a lot of money . . .
