Oh I forgot about Uvo and Biscuit too. Okay so I have 4 favorite characters if you add them to Hisoka and Killua.
Hunter x Hunter II

I was going through the Hunter x Hunter wiki and noticed some panels that show what the phantom troupe looked like kids, etc.
Was there a flashback arc in the manga, or was this just omake? Franklin's page has a picture of him when he was younger from the older anime too.

Maybe you mean this part when there was a flashback ?
It'll be in the next episode.

Omg Uvo had an afro!

Okay how about this question… based off personality what nen type would you be
[hide]
- Enhancers are determined and simple. Most of them never lie and hide nothing. Their words and actions are often dominated by their feelings. They are generally very selfish and focused on their goals.
- Transmuters are whimsical liars. Transmutation users have unique attitudes, and many are regarded as weirdos or cheaters. They rarely reveal their true intentions.
- Conjurers are typically high-strung.They are often on guard as to be overly cautious. They are very observant and rarely fall into the traps. Being able to analyze things calmly is the strength of the materialization of users.
- Emitters are impatient and not detail-oriented. Many of them quick-tempered and hot-blooded. They resemble the users in building their impulsivity, but the difference with them, they probably tend to calm down and forget more easily.
- Manipulators are logical people who advance at their own pace. They are all for arguments and tend to want to keep their families and loved ones safe. On the other hand, when it comes to pursuing their own goals, they do not listen to what others might have to say about it.
- Specialists are individualistic and charismatic. They will tell you anything important on them, and refrain from being close friends. But, because of their natural charisma that draws others, they are always surrounded by many people.
[/hide]and now knowing your nen type what would your hatsu be (usually based off things like hobbies and special interests)
I'd probably be a Conjurer seeing as how I'm always tense and over the top cautious, (although I'm not extremely observant)
and as for my hatsu, well I love books! I especially love ones that take a games or series and list everything about it (players guides, character encyclopedias etc.) so maybe have some ability that if certain requirements are met I can get info on person, place or thing
But….. now I need a name for my ability :cwy:
-
That sounds like Astrological sign readings in the sense that they are very general and that each can describe a great deal of people.
-
I can't really identify with any of those.
-
none of them completely described me I just went with the one I felt most comfortable
oh yeah and as for characters I love Pariston and can't wait to see him again

Oooooooooooooh nice thanks.

I'm a manipulator then. Or a conjurer. 1 of the 2

Does that mean its coming back on the 12th of Jan?
-
that cover looks kinda lazy.
Gon's "meh" face is killing me.
-
Glad someone else noticed that as well. For the first bit of new HxH we have seen in forever, on a jump cover no less it's pretty damn rough.
-
Wow even for a cover like this were there isn't that much going on, togashi is to lazy to put more work into. Well I hope the manga comes back soon.
-
Does that mean its coming back on the 12th of Jan?
HxH? coming back?
LOL
No, that's the opening date for the film.
Also, volume 31 cover.
-
The emphasis on Kurapika makes me think that this is merely a promotion of Phantom Rouge or whatever it's called.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Swiftly ninja'd by Aohige's solid info.
Also,that cover is kinda cute.
-
Havent caught up to the current episode of the hxh anime, I just watched episode 41, but I have to say that for a long running shonen show the production quality is much higher than that of other shows like op, bleach naruto, fairy tail etc. And yes I know that the other shows have much more episodes but still hxh from the start had a much higher quality in terms of how it looks and not really having janky looking episodes with bad animation.
-
Wow what a lazy cover xD even I could manage to do that kind of coloring don't let us begin with the line art, but yeah it looks cute.
But since it's done by togashi I can't not wonder if that's a legitimate choice driven by what he thought it should be or driven by what he thought he could get away with. -
Lazy cover. Does this one shot in 2 parts give Togashi another 2 years hiatus? lawlz! I would love to see his contract with jump. Signed in blood and with the witnesses as eldritch abominations, demon contractors and/or long forgotten gods.
-

I doubt he has any kind of contract that would demand anything of him. I think it goes more like this T: "guys so I've done these chapters if you want to publish them and I'll get x amount of money for that kk thx bye"; J: "Hell yes, easy money baby!".
-
To be fair he is the only mangaka on my top 10 list who appears twice, so it's not like I'm not a massive fan saying all this. And I don't know what it's like to be a mangaka and the pressures that entails, but then again jump are always vague about the precise reason a mangaka is on hiatus.

raw is out, since I have no confidence in real translation yet I may instead drop some paraphrased spoilers. If no one decides to do a fast translation first that is now off to reading. http://www.mcanime.net/manga_enlinea/hunter_x_hunter_kurapika_tsuioku_hen/raws/421669/1#ver

Oh heck yes, thank you man! Pretty excited for this…
! That non-rage-filled Kurapika. Those backgrounds are pretty darn nifty, too! Quite lively.
-
! Too much going on to get anything from the pictures, but the best I can figure is that Kurapika and his buddy meet a stranger in the woods, the stranger tells them a story, they ask the elder about it, and their elder mentions a magical elixir that either cures disease or does something else cool… so Kurapika and his buddy hop on Chocobos to go find it.
-
Hunter x Hunter Volume 0, for all the people that going to see new Film.
-
! I hope Togashi didn't tire himself out drawing those backgrounds. He should save some energy for the main plot.
-
Togashi: "There, I did an extra chapter! Now leave me alone for another year so I can play Dragon Quest!"
-
! That's Kurapika's mom right ?
That other Kurapika with hair tusks. -
! So it starts out with Kurapika arguing with the village's elder, about him wanting to go to the outside world.
The elder forbids him doing so because he is still a child and threatens him that if he breaks that law(apparently you can only leave the village if you have taken an exam which you can only take if you're an adult.) that it will be his family that gets punished instead of him.
(Nobody seems to know what kind of punishment it is by the way since nobody has broken the law before).
Kurapika goes off to meet his friend Pairo and venting about how unreasonable the law is and how frustrating it is that they aren't even allowed to learn about the outside world (they don't even learn to speak their language until they take the test it seems).
! Then they meet the girl who is from the outside. She(I don't think a name is given maybe I missed it) needs water but since the two don't speak her language she makes due with some sign language. After that she asks where the water is from with no avail, kurpika decides to get his father's dictionary in secret.
With that they become able to understand another and they built a relationship where kurapika and pairo nurse her back and in turn she tells them about the outside world. (She is by the way someone aiming to become a pro hunter.)
! After she has healed they bid each other farewell, she declares when they come to meet her next time she will be a prohunter. She leaves them her book with stories and pictures about (hunter)adventures. Next we jump to kurapika demanding the elder to return the book. They argue about it and the dangers of the outside world and kurapika does some inspirational hotblooded youth declaration which makes the elder let him take the test.
! We see Kurapika studying for the test, his parents talking about it. His mother seems to share his enthusiasm and disagreement with the views of the elder, while his father seems more worried about the whole ordeal. They reference a scarlett eye hunt that has happened about a 100 years ago, the mother argues that the outside has surely changed since then while the father says there haven't been any hunts since then because they hid from the outside since then.
! Finally the test. The first two test are written tests about language and common knowledge of the outside. Kurapika passes both of them even correcting the examiner. The third test is for composure. They aren't allowed to enter the scarlett eye mode for 24 hours while going on an outside trip to buy supplies for the village. To make sure they aren't cheating they have to take some eye medicine which has an effect of 24 hours and makes sure the scarlett mode stays. (when they enter the scarlett mode after 4 hours after taking the medicine they will remain in it for 20 hours. If they enter it after 8 hours they remain in it for 16 hours.)
! At last he has to choose a partner for the trip and he chooses his friend pairo. The partner isn't allowed to enter scarlett mode either or he also fails. The chapter ends with both of them being on their way on the bird.Wow quite lengthy summary I may have over described some things while leaving some things out… well whatever I hope that way people still get some surprise if they decide to spoil themselves. Also at the end a mistakes disclaimer :P just to be safe.

All that stuff about Togashi going on another hiatus after this movie chapter is just you guys joking, right?
RIGHT?!

This chapter wasn't his return. He's still on hiatus, this chapter was released to promote the upcoming movie it ties into. I'm sure HXH will be back early next year
Also wasn't someone saying Togashi drew this chapter years ago?

Thank you for the in-depth summary, sir. Now to read the chapter alongside your spoiler summary.

Yeah a new volume for HXH is releasing soon. Usually after a new volume of HXH releases, the return isn't too long after that
-
Why do all the backgrounds look like they were taken out of Uzumaki? whyyy???
-

Its easier to budget when you're working with a finished series so you know in advance when the anime is going to end and don't have to worry about filler.
-
So, do we have information about volume 0 for movie-goers in Japan?
-
HxH? coming back?
LOL
No, that's the opening date for the film.
Also, volume 31 cover.

Still waiting for HXH to get back into it's regular groove (weekly chapters).

Not for a long time, buddy. Dragonquest X came out in August. That's when Togashi went on Hiatus again. We won't see him again until he's completed every single quest possible in the game.

But…isn't that an MMO?
If thats the case I hope Togshi finishes it before the expansion hits. -
I heard he also does Lets Plays, is that true?
