It's amazing how a character with the the divinely broken power to literally reject reality can be so useless.
Nardo and Bleh Thread III: Naruto is a terrible terrible manga

That reminds me of how when Barrigan was set up against Hachi, I thought we might have an interesting fight (Hey, I was young) where he would use the time reversal powers he had (which he had contrasted to Orihime's powers) to nullify Barrigan's aging ability. But of course Kubo probably forgot Hachi had such an ability and just did some stupid kido thing
-
It's amazing how a character with the the divinely broken power to literally reject reality can be so useless.
Actually, I think her power transferred to Kubo himself. U gotta admit, Kubo's power of rejecting his reality is remarkable
-
Not even the main character is safe from getting buttfucked by Kubos writing, none of the secondaries ever had a chance.
You know, despite his bullshit umteenth powerup, Bachbeard overhot Ichigos SUPAAAAAAH Dangerous threat level bu quite a lage margin, didn't he. I mean, the entire reason the quincies went to war was because "Ichigo is busy! This is our chance!" And now that he's here, Bachbeard has done nothing but babyshake him with no effort. I mean, grabbing his hair like a little bitch, come on.
Again, they could've taken him back with zero effort. Even if Bachbeard just felt really really tired all of a sudden, PotForest schooled Ichigo too, and could've nabbed him handily - or maybe Bachbeard could've asked, Idunno, the entire army of quincys he has to stop by, since they're all leaving anyway (LOL right after the gasmask-nazis arrived too). Why the hell did they leave Ichigo behind?
Transparant story convenience is of course the answer, but Kubo really brought out the windex for this one. -
With Naruto you can see a mangaka who has been so affected by all the threads he has set up he can't even remember his core themes (hard work etc) he built, so had to simplify things by removing those elements. As for Bleach it's just lazy fucking writing. "The hero gets these powaz because I sez so, worship my random inapropriatepandering to popular characters!"If Kubo had his way, Luffy would have been trained by Rayleigh and randomly gained the powers of Dragon, Ace and well anyone with a friggin D in their name lol.
-
@Daz: That's another thing I don't get. If Ichigo was such a threat to the invasion being pulled off, why didn't Bach actively try to dispose of him these past few chapters? …I guess "i'm an overconfident shonen villain and will merely toy with you" is the answer, but I can't help and apply realism to it.
Also, unless it's a translation foul-up, why is Bach changing his tune? First he wants Ichigo out of the way, then he wants to make him one of his own, now he seems to be leaving without him?
-
Maybe the Quincies are flying back to wherever their base is and Bach doesn't want to check any luggage? I mean, you can't carry on such a large pile of blandness.
Also, how many times has it been now that Zangetsu's gotten sliced in half? Three? Five? I remember Byakuya did it waaay back in the day, followed by Kenpachi, then maybe Ulquiorra? And it always happens after Ichigo's getting full of himself, too. You have to love how quickly his expression changes once he loses the upper hand…
-
Seeing how they're currently holding an overwhelming advantage, why are they pulling back int the first place?I mean, they've pretty much won,so why not completely oblitirate SS?Wasn't that what they called in the gasmask nazis for?Where did those go anyway?

Don't know Sander but the reason probably involves plotkai for popular characters to appear out of context. Sigh we are probably never see the remaining bankais because Ichigo is the main.

You'd think we would, since the ones already showcased have been stolen.
….But we have no idea how the Captains are even doing. Yeah, Yama's dead, Byakuya's about to die, Kenpachi is defeated....but what about Soifon/Komamura/Hitsugaya/Rose/Shinji/Kensei/Unohana/Kyoraku/Ukitake/etc
-
@Metamario: Kubo logic: they aren't fangirl and fanboy bait. Some of those people only like bishies. I do like Byakuya but for fuck sake he isn't the only captain! To reinforce Metamario's post, we have a likeable ninja tsundere, an adorable fox face, a dapper fellow, a mischevious man, an Ichigo but done right (assertive, proactive), a gentle beauty, a roguish dandy and a quiet gentlemen. Why ignore this fabulous cast Kubo? You created them!

Wow I know for once what people are referring to in bleach
! http://img.batoto.net/comics/2012/01/16/b/read4f144cd40a582/img000004.png
what happened to them? Kubo accidentally bleaching them out of the chapters?
This might be a question to pose to the arrogant prick via twitter. Not sure if he'd ever see it, I doubt that, but still, I once made a statement with the Yami question and this seems far far more severe as far as forgetting characters is concerned.

Considering Hitsugaya randomly showed up in the last…...arc, then yeah that's a pretty safe bet.

Kubo can't keep track of character motivations or plotlines to save his life.
For instance, did anyone notice the blatant retcon this week?
Bachbeard talks about how "Sending Kirge to supress Ichigo was a mistake". Only….Bach never sent anyone. Like I said, the whole reason the quincies invaded was because Ichigo went to Hueco Mondo of his own accord; Bach even says "I have no idea why Ichigo went there. But score, lets invade!". Kirge just happened to be the guy in charge of Hueco Mondo.
I guess Kubo can't resist the urge to retroactively have his villains somehow foresee and plan Ichigos every move. And even if it was planned from the start, Bach does a pretty good job of explaining why it was a bad plan. I mean, he instantly whips up an elaborate theory on why pairing Kirge in particular with Ichigo is an exceptionally bad idea. Maybe he should have thought his plan through first.
That is, if he had planned.
Which he hadn't.The whole cage business seems rather silly too, now. "The cage cannot imprison quincies! But It can imprison people who are quincies, but don't know it! Only, being in the case will cause them to remember, and means that they can't be imprisoned"
edit:
@FOL&G: Ninja tsundere she might be, but "likeable" is never an adjective I would assign Soifon. "Pissy" is more fitting. -
I like her, in a she's a bitch but at least she's honest way.Oh it just occured to me that the final big bad should be defeated by Unohana. They have a glaring match and the intense glare of the villain is beaten by a hurt look after staring for 3 chapters. The villain will break down at Unohana's "anti-glare" bankai and they will cry, begging for forgiveness. Then a final conclusive panel of Unohana telling Ichigo he wasn't the chosen one after all.The 3 chapter arc in true Kubo fashion would be called "the teary gaze of the maiden with a hurt countenance washes sympathy through misunderstood Quincy lord"
-
@Friend:
I like her, in a she's a bitch but at least she's honest way.
She requested that, in a fight to the death with Aizen to protect the lives of thousands of civilians, Urahara be non judicialy confined in a sphere-cage-thing after not only helping them out but after it was revealed he was completely innocent of all charges pressed against him, simply because he lured whatsherface to Karakura with him (and yes I know her name but she's done so little since then I can't be bothered to recall her name) ,before she alowed the help of the vizards.

Yes, I want to know that too…..in fact, if Byakuya used goddamn Kido when his Bankai was stolen, I bet the situation would've turned out differently. It's not like the Quincies have some way of countering that. ...Unless they're Tsukishima and know "how to counter every type of kido just by knowing what they are"!

…why can't things be out of random luck anymore? Why must the villain know everything? Aizen, Kugo, Bach......it's really annoying. Not to mention, a villain immediately becomes unlikeable once they possess a smug sense of knowledge and foresee every outcome.

Which he hadn't.Isn't the whole invasion out of a whim, though? One day, Bach and his goons decide to throw caution to the wind, kill Sasakibe, and boastfully declare war right in Yama's own face?
But no, we can't have things just happen for the sake of happening. EVERYTHING must be calculated and result because of it! (and this is war, which SHOULD be calculated! Oh the irony!)

At least Soifon wasn't just another walking pair of humongous tits, unlike most of the other women in Bleach. That, coupled with her look, fighting style and certain aspects of her personality, was enough for me to like her…

"Alow me to throw the fate of the entiere world and all of existence in jeopardy in case my irational hatered of a person who was wrongly sentenced to death and actualy refused to let himself get executed and ran off, never actualy asking that other person to come along, doesn't get satiated by having said man, who has since been proven to be innocent and who has been helping us in this very important fight to save all of existence everywhere, imprisoned on my orders for the sake of my own amusement for an arbitrary amount of time right after he finishes helping us !"
Yeah, cause that's likeable.

@nomaam: I didn't say her acting like that was likeable, just a special case regarding Urahara.Besides I would like to see the man who escaped soul society be trapped by soul reapers lol.

@No:
And then boom, no kido.
What about kido? Her fighting style was hand-to-hand, with her overpowered Shikai tossed in for good measure. Unless that Shunko technique was kido-based (which I can't recall), in which case, yeah. Still, it's not like she ever used it outside of that fight with Yoruichi (again, as far I recall).
Speaking of kido, did Byakuya forget how useful that light prison spell was at holding people down in his fight against spikeface? He deserved to die (and Kubo deserves to have his manga tank for forgetting about kido)…
-

Whom she has no logical reason to hate except trying to artificialy shift blame onto so she can let her hate out on someone.
And realy, how much screentime did she have to showcase any other sort of behaviour towards other people ?

Don't matter, any non bankai and especialy any non-sword related techniques and abilities apply for this argument.

**@Deviant_Mugen:

Augh, I just realized. Whoever stole her Bankai should logically be screwed, because a) it's heavy b) she probably can dodge the missile and c) most importantly: her SHIKAI kills in TWO SWIFT hits! Her opponent shouldn't be able to even see it coming!
Komamura has an advantage too, the little girl that took his Bankai has to deal with its prime weakness…..it's a massive target to pass damage on to the user!
....but I bet you Kubo has not thought of all this.**
-
What argument is that, exactly? Weren't you just arguing that she was a bitch? What does her fighting style have to do with that?
Also, Soifon releasing her huge, unwieldy Bankai was incredibly stupid on Kubo's part, considering she probably could've two-shotted that Quincy if she'd stuck to her overpowered Shikai…
@Meta: Ha! Dogface with an advantage... He's just a furry version of Renji. I wonder how hard he'll howl when he finds out the old man bit the dust (until he gets revived, that is)? First blindy and now the old dude that took him in or whatever, poor dogface can't catch a break...
-
When does logic apply to the troll king kubo? lolYeah it's strange that Kubo is forgetting Kubo given that Yoruichi is the former captain who can use bankai and shikai but prefers kido. Also surely Kubo can't forget the important part kido played in taking down Aizen, his planned final villain. This makes me wonder if after that horrible arc if the editors of Jump did a Dragonball and made Kubo continue Bleach. It may or may not explain Kubo's post Aizen 2 big bad cardboard cut outs.
-

the Quincy have their 'blut vein' defence, i very much doubt it woulda been that easy for her to do so.

Too bad, it could've been a much-needed win for Koma.

I doubt they would've noticed the attack, moving around a giant missile launcher.

Whale guy? Eh, that's a very paltry accomplishment. Besides, I'll always remember Komamura as the guy who, alongside Tosen, got an ass whupping from Kenpachi while Aizen's shenanigans were going on in SS. Good times…
While we're on that topic, Ikkaku could've won that fight if he'd released his Bankai, which he didn't because he didn't want to get noticed or whatever. It reminded me of a certain curly-browed idiot who almost died (and doomed his captured "friend" to die), simply because he wouldn't kick a woman.
-
Isn't the whole invasion out of a whim, though? One day, Bach and his goons decide to throw caution to the wind, kill Sasakibe, and boastfully declare war right in Yama's own face?
You know, that scene…what was the point? Really what was it?
The quincies show up and declare war.
Only, appearantly they werent actually planning on going to war just yet. So they accomplish nothing except ruining their element of surprise.
Then they shrug and decide to invade anyway, but soul society didn't really do any preperation for the quincy invasion, so I guess showing their hand, including the bankai stealing, didn't really have any consequences?Really, excise that scene completely and nothing would be lost. Just have Sasakibe die in the proper invasion, that way you also avoid the captains getting their bankais stolen like toal asshats despite Sasakibes dying words being "watch out! They can steal bankais!"
Also, the fuck was up with the masked appearances in that first scene. None of those quincies were remotely relevant, and no quincy except the fodder soldiers have been masked since!
-
What argument is that, exactly? Weren't you just arguing that she was a bitch? What does her fighting style have to do with that?
That's not part of the argument, that comes from the "Why didn't the captains use non Bankai techniques in this fight like at all" debate.
-
Tangent! Yeah, I remember now. Kubo's apparent answer: Because no one gave one shit about what Sasakibe had to say. So much so, that they ignored his dying message, which contained the only words of actual importance that he ever spoke throughout his entire existence. Words which could've saved them from both embarrassment and death. Genius at work, folks…
-

And he got stomped by Aizen TWICE. Yikes.
While we're on that topic, Ikkaku could've won that fight if he'd released his Bankai, which he didn't because he didn't want to get noticed or whatever.
Definitely something that costed him. It's not like having Bankai is the sole requirement for being a Captain…..I mean, Renji shows off his Bankai all the time and no one really gives a crap. Maybe it's because he can't ever WIN, but whatever.
Ikkaku just values being a subordinate under Kenpachi. But of course Kubo can't stick to an agenda. His speech to Punk Kid in the Fullbringer arc about how allies should be equal and do the same for each kinda contradicts this.
And of course Kubo has to recycle plot points. Part of Sasakibe's "development" was that he had Bankai too! And he valued being a subordinate to Yama so much that he didn't want to be promoted too! Sound familar?
@The:

But what bugs me about the war was that it had no build-up at all. Kubo decided to make Quincies revelant one day and say "I know! I'll make a bunch of Quincies and make them fight the Shinigami all of a sudden! Genius!"

-
Yeah, Sasakibe's adamant loyalty (more like lapdog syndrome) jumped out at me as well. Then again, Kubo seems to be on an Ikkaku kick this arc, considering he copy-pasted his quirk onto Sasakibe and then created a Quincy that looks exactly like Ikkaku, only with a mohawk. Also, Ikkaku probably would've been pushed as a Captain had he shown off his Bankai, considering they were shorthanded by 3 of them and he was somewhat capable, unlike Soul Society's resident loser. After all, Ikkaku beat his fraccion opponent (that is to say, he has victories under his belt) back in the Arrancar arc without needing a little girl to step in and give him the upper hand…
-

Speaking of Ikkaku…..where is he? Or Yachiru? Or Yumichika? The three characters associated with Kenpachi have yet to make a scene of battle this whole war. And I'd think their captain's defeat would piss the three of them off, giving Kubo the chance to develop some more! (aren't we supposed to get the source of Yachiru's name this arc?)
And you make a good point.....but since the slots are filled (or not, both Byakuya and Yama are kicking the bucket), there's less risk now.
-
Yachiru hasn't been seen since that small cameo in that terrible arc before this one. You know, where we saw her new 'do and crossbones barrette. As for Ikkaku and Yumichika, who knows what they're up to. I don't think we've seen them since the final battle with Aizen.
As for Yachiru's namesake… we'll see her when Kenpachi finally learns his sword's name (i.e. never)...
-

Well, her showing up then is proof enough Kubo still remembers her.
And Ikkaku and Yumichika were present when the arc started; they were investigating footprints with other 11th Division members in Rukongai (that plotpoint didn't seem to go anywhere)
-
Oh, yeah. Because, you know, no-name grunts clearly weren't up for the job of following a trail. Speaking of no-names, that girly guy and his bitchy girlfriend from the start of the arc died, right? I hope they're among the casualties when/if we're told about them…
-
So now Kubo is retconning Ichigos mother's death LOL.
-
Bach is really Ichigo's mom in disguise

Didn't Mayuri tell yami-ji that he killed them all in order to balance the soul count because of all the hollows the quincy had killed?
Just when I thought the Bleach afterlife couldn't get more shitty.
They're basically just just being kept in those districts so they can be killed off anytime the shinigami need to balance the souls.
Kubo has an interesting way of thinking.
I see.
The people in soul society are kept in shitty conditions because if they don't keep the mortality rate up, they'll lose the balance of souls.
-
I bet that Aizen was somehow involved in Ichigo's conception.
-
wasn't the whole balance issue between LIVING and DEAD meaning vanquishing hollows caused lack of dead…. so... . how did mayuri restore balance by destroying souls in SS when pretty much all of hueco mundo was slaughtered? great job kubo !
-
Lol, I actually did schematics of it way back when, but people didn't seem to care. Well, heres another attempt:
Maybe…..the Stern Ritters were masked then to hide their appearance? Either way, that panel looked so ridiculous. No background and some of them were missing arms!
They don't bother hiding it now; and its not like they were known criminals that needed to keep their identities secret, they're soldiers of an opposing army!
Also, boy did the "arrancar recruitment" subplot get old fast. We didn't see a single one during this war!
-
^^ nanda kore?…..
-
Diagrams showing the living/dead soul balance of Bleach, and the factors affecting it in different situations.
First is the problem the Quicies created; killing loads of hollows result in deficiency of Dead souls.
Second is my solution to increase the number of Dead souls.
Third is the canon solution, which has the exact opposite effect of the intended. -
This whole story is so borked at this point.
How does Ichigo who didn't even know he was apparently part Quincy activate the blut stab blocking power instantly while Ishida has been stabbed sooooo many times never gets a shred of it. He never even displayed any extra abilities like all these weird mutant Quincies. And he probably never will.
I'm starting to think that the people that scan these for general reading are purposely leaving out pages and changing dialog. I can't believe it's gotten this bad. At this rate I'm gonna have to consider it worse than Air Gear.
-
I love how weirdass random shit like Lloyd/Rroyds powers just appear at birth, but something like Kirges jail, which you could almost accept as a form of Quincy reiatsu-manipulation, is just pulled straight from Bachs ass and sprinkled onto Kirge. Because he can do that. Somehow.
So to summarize, to have quincy powers you can either be born with them (Ichigo, LloydRroyd), train for them (Ishida, random-Quincy arrancars) or have quinciness shoved up your ass by Bachbeard (Kirge, other Stern Ritters).
At this rate it'll be even worse than fullbringers, and just sniffing a quincy arrow will make you one. -
I still love how Kenpachi, the canon cheapest character in the entire series (and good lord is that saying something at this point), was taken out offpanel by someone who was just impersonating Bach.
