Oda is a lot more creative than just a "Clothes Clothes" fruit for Kinemon. He'll have a Kitsune Ancient Zoan for sure.
If there was a kitsune fruit, it would be a Mythical Zoan. Kitsunes are mythical creatures.

No transformation, no zoan fruit.
Sorry but unless you are Japanese how do you know it is the same as dragons and mermaids to westerners? I would imagine a Japanese kid's knowledge on Kitsunes would be the same as your average Western kid's on Harpys
Fair enough since I'm not Japanese. And even though Wikipedia says that foxes are common subject in Japanese folklore, and some googling results support it, the pages are not in Japanese so I suppose you wouldn't believe them. So all I can say is that the first thing that crosses my mind when I hear "kitsune" is a stereotypical children cartoon fox character with curvy line eyes, and like I said, I'm not even Japanese. I believe kitsune is a common subject in fairy tales just like youkai, oni, kappa, and tanuki.
We can always ask a native Japanese, but this discussion ends here since it's out of topic. We agree to disagree.
@Medical:
If there was a kitsune fruit, it would be a Mythical Zoan. Kitsunes are mythical creatures.
Actually, not really. Kitsune is just fox, as in real life animal. It's just in folklores/fairy tales foxes can shapechange. However, if Oda wants it he can just take the mythical version, thus Mythical Zoan Kitsune. Otherwise, Kitsune fruit would be just normal zoan.
I think Sagippio is right about kitsunes. They're similar to tanookies in that they are real-life animals who have special abilities in folklore. It's no different than, say, black cats being able to bring bad luck to people who cross the path they walked by.
The truly mythological, Japanese fox would be the nine-tailed one, plus its lesser-tailed variants.
You guys kind of miss the point, if kinemon has the kitsune fruit, it has to be a mythical one because he already used an ability associated with the mythical creature. It´s not like the japanese believe that normal foxes can change their appearance.

Actually, my point is that Kinemon is Fox enough from his name, Fox-fire Kinemon (kitsune-bi no Kin'emon - 狐火の錦えもん). He doesn't need mythical zoan fruit to be like the kitsune from folklore, all he needs is just the ability to, in a way, shape-change. This can be achieved by DFs like those of Bon Clay and Chameleone, or in lesser degree, a DF that can change clothing.
Of course, if Oda wills it, Mythical Zoan Kitsune, that is a fox zoan plus the mythical abilities. Though after thinking about it, I tend to think that if there will be any zoan kitsune fruit, it will be just an ordinary zoan, not a mythical zoan. So I think his fruit would be a paramecia.
Tanuki fruit is far more likely. Wasn't aohige saying the leaf on head thing is common for tanukis?
Also, doesn't kitsune mean nine tailed fox? Ki=9 I dunno honestly. Also the whole mythical fox thing would be a bit too naruto
It is very well possible that he just has a paracemia that allows him to change appearances in form of clothes and such but to me that would be kind of boring. Moreover, we have seen many Zoans before (especially Enies Lobby arc) but just Marco till now had a mythical one. Plus the way Kinemon changed their clothes is directly taken from folklore, too, so it´s not that unlikely that he could have a mythical tanuki or mythical kitsune fruit. Lastly i wanna see this:
Tanuki fruit is far more likely. Wasn't aohige saying the leaf on head thing is common for tanukis?

1. Yes, leaves are commonly associated with Tanukis.
2. No kitsune doesn't mean 9-Tailed Fox, just fox.
3. Kishimoto in no way came up with the mythological tailed beasts and in no way would it mean that anyone else that uses them becomes "a bit too Naruto".
@400MillionBelis:
Zoro' (sudden) fight with Mihawk and Sanji's story was awesome, but they don't save the (meat) of the arc itself.
Mainly because of the Krieg Pirates. They're pretty one dimensional (not as much as Lucci though) and the way things folded out felt a little jarring.
In a way, the Krieg Pirates as as one-dimensional as the majority of Buggy's and Kuro's crews…..just generic pirates being evil. But at least for those crews their leaders had some kind of enthralling personality. Krieg.....not so much.
Fair enough complaint.
doesn't kitsune mean nine tailed fox? Ki=9 I dunno honestly.
9 is kyuu or ku, nine tailed fox is kyuubi no kitsune

Oh. I thought just the mythical creatures were called kitsunes. I've read about the creatures before, so that's where the confusion came from.
It wouldn't be an Ancient Zoan either way, though.
On the subject, I just checked the original and realized Kinemon's name is actually Kin'emon. I've been mispronouncing it the whole time, damn MangaPanda.
9 is kyuu or ku, nine tailed fox is kyuubi no kitsune
Thx for clarification. A mythic fox would be cool, but if he were that strong wouldnt he have defeated law?
Moreover, we have seen many Zoans before (especially Enies Lobby arc) but just Marco till now had a mythical one.
Poor Sengoku gets no love.
shit, forgot him, probably because i associate zoan with animals and i tend to forget the hito hito no mi
Thx for clarification. A mythic fox would be cool, but if he were that strong wouldnt he have defeated law?
He had no idea about Law's power and was blindsided. One wrong step against Law and you're done.
Sagippio when I and others (I think), say he has a Kitsune Mythical Zoan fruit, we are talking about the Kitsune of japanese folklore which possesses powers such as shape shifting, not your average fox. It could be a Tanuki (the one that's a part of Japanese folklore, believe it or not I'm not using the Japanese word for raccoon just for the sake of it) but his nickname of Kitsune makes me thing it's a Kitsune mythic zoan
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Furthermore backing my case the Kitsune is known to have supernatural powers. One of which being possession of the ability to generate fire at will. This is known as Kitsune-bi literally fox fire

I'm well aware of that. I used to want him to have mythical zoan kitsune too. But then again, there will be two fox zoan fruit, the ordinary fox one and the mythical kitsune one. I somehow doubt we'll see many mythical zoan fruit, though, and I expect those fruit to be owned by top tier characters. For me, Kinemon is just too weak to be considered top level. But then again, we've seen weak logia, so I'm still open for the possibility.
Excuse me, for now we still can't tell whether his fox-fire style is DF related or just sword technique. If it is just sword technique, then we can say that his fox-ness is represented by his sword style, and that his DF is only needed to complete that kitsune-ness of his with the appearance-changing ability.
We should remember that his DF power works not only for him, but anyone he wants, and it just works for clothing, so far we haven't seen him shape-changing, not to a kitsune, or to any other form.
I'm still open to what Oda will bring to us, but I'd like to see Kinemon not with mythical zoan DF. Beside, Fuku Fuku no Mi will fill that missing 2 and 9 in SH's DF.
Ok we'll just have to wait untill he finally tells us what DF he has
Ok we'll just have to wait untill he finally tells us what DF he has
There will be no point in discussion if we just wait for the answer.
But in any case, this topic did get derailed. So it might be best to stop right here.
Question: Do we ever actually see Kinemon making the new coat for Sanji-in-Nami?
Question: Do we ever actually see Kinemon making the new coat for Sanji-in-Nami?
There's a thread for this stuff, you know . . .
But no. Sanji takes of the black coat here (http://www.batoto.net/read/_/107517/one-piece_ch671_by_mangarule/3) and we don't see himher in the white coat until here (http://www.batoto.net/read/_/110672/one-piece_ch672_by_mangarule/15), so the creation of the coat happened offscreen.
Also, I noticed something which I'm sure someone has noticed before:
Brook uses one sword and has an ice element to it;
Kinemon uses two swords and has a fire element to it;
Zoro uses three swords and has no element to it.
Sooo, Kinemon should totally join the crew. And I also would like to see Zoro and Kinemon go together for this arc (because Zoro can't go alone, right?), because they don't know about the alliance (probably) and Kinemon has a grudge against Law, and it would still be otherwise interesting :)

I'm pretty sure Zoro's element is wind.
I want to see more chitter chatter between the crew return. Kind of like that between Usopp and Zoro in the latest chapter, unfortunately it has become a rarity since Sabaody.
no i think zoro's element is earth or darkness
Zoro's element is badassery. If that's not an element, he will make it so.
I'd love some interaction between the swordsmen in the current arc–Zoro, Brook, Kinemon, Tashigi, and Law. There's some real potential for hilarity and character development there.

You forgot Vergo.
OH RIGHT HE'S NOT A SWORDSMAN.
I loved this joke, Oda knows how to do humor in the middle of a serious situation.

AutumnComet wins an internet .
I want to see the crew singing Bink's Sake.
Hope something to celebrate happens in this arc so they will leave the island singing.

Yeah, I lol'd with the exchange between Monet. Hopefully Vergo has a DF (and not just haki).
What i really missed in the FI-arc was an explanation why mermaids get legs at the age of fourty.
I hoped that would be explained (or at least memtioned there) and now this opportunity sems kind of missed..at least until we meet another mermaid during the NW journey, who could be used to get into more depth on that topic.

Actually, it's thirty. And we already got a meta explanation on it: That when mermaids get legs, they are more than 30 and not young and beautiful anymore, so most of them choose to move to land. So Oda sort of joked that he made them grow legs, so that they could move away from Fishman Island and he only had to draw beautiful mermaids in that arc.
Or are you pondering other things about it? Because, as for myself, I've always wondered if the splitting is a long process or if it's just magic that happens out of nowhere. And does the mermaid's tail split the second she turns 30? Or could some mermaids have a split tail as soon as 27 or as late as 35, just like some people enter puberty later than others?
I kind of want to know if the Gorosei earned their position like the Marines earn their rank, or if they received their position from their lineage or being voted in, or somehow else.
I have always been completely and utterly satisfied by this series, but one thing does come to mind. I'd like for Oda to show the scope of his sea on the post-arc shenanigans. You know, after every arc you always get people talking about important plot-relevant stuff. I'd also like him to draw possibly a spread, or at least show a few panels of not just the islands where those are taking place, but like… When he's going to Eustass Kid talking about something, I'd like him to take a Google Earth approach to it. So, first we'd see the island at a very high distance, and you could see other islands and their locations and they'd all be labelled. Then he'd have a panel that zooms in on an eagle eye view of the island where Eustass currently is, then you'd see the city/whatever he's in, then the panel with him. I think this would be some neat world-building that could only take up a few panels and give us some reference points.

Thirty..my bad.
Well, i ask myself why that actually happens..
I mean we have fishwoman who have legs and why do mermaids get legs at that specific age, while merman don`t get them at all.
Has that some kind of history with the ancient people…where are all the mermaids who have legs..so far we only saw Kokoro.
A lot of questions for my taste.

I kind of like it more when those places are explored the way the SHs will encounter them..also it`s most of the time just important o get a general idea where the location is (like GL or NW etc)
An antagonist that is a bounty hunter, since the theory that Magellan turned into one to get all the former prisoners of Impel Down was disbanded, i would really like to see one bounty hunter.

Better yet, Nami should actually MAP THE AREA as they're exploring. =_=
Seriously, that character trait has been more abandoned than All Blue.
Hopefully Aokiji + ex CP9
Or Sengoku.
I could see Sengoku chasing down the escaped prisoners, because he seemed really pissed off, when, at the conclusion of Marineford, he was told to "forget about it"–a reason for him retiring even. He can Buddhist Palm them all into submission.
More Monet. Please. Like, a lot more.

That I whole heartedly agree with. Though I think comparing it to the All Blue is a little unfair due to the nature of the goals.
While I'm sure Nami does map out the islands they visit off panel, it would be nice of it was EVER mentioned during their down time.
Seriously, that character trait has been more abandoned than All Blue.
Umm…compared to All Blue...no. Though, the All Blue does get joking mentions now and then.
But who would have thought Nami would go from Navigator, to Cartographer, to Meteorologist?

Well, to be fair, a lot of job descriptions get combined on board a pirate ship.
Let's be glad that the carpenter is not also the doctor, as was the norm in those days…
