Hopefully the Niners can get back to being good tonight. :(
Only if they are playing at Candlestick Park. I would not want to be at CenturyLink Field to face the Seahawks

It boggles the mind that the Titans have given up ninety more points than they have scored, are 2-4, and are still just about a game behind the league average.
And they'll spend a good chunk of the rest of the year playing against the Colts, Jags, and the AFC West.
Only if they are playing at Candlestick Park. I would not want to be at CenturyLink Field to face the Seahawks
Yeah it is in SF tonight.
Ouch, 6 and 7 last week. 54 and 36 overall.

Holy crap, I'm picking almost all home teams.
I was a dreadful 3-11 last week for a total of 45-46
Also everyone, there's 14 games a week, those of you whose counts only add up to 13 forgot the Monday night game…

Two good teams played what wound up being… a pretty forgettable game to me. There weren't many memorable plays for me at all. I didn't expect Seattle to get gashed on the ground like that, but these things can happen to anyone.
The thing I'll remember the longest about that game was Harbaugh declining the questionable penalty for a safety at the end. Regardless of his reasoning, it pretty much destroyed any chance Seattle fans would have had to blame the outcome on the refs, so kudos to him for that. I really like the guy as a coach as long as my team isn't playing against him. That's some stark contrast to the other sideline, where I can't stand Carroll's attitude. I really wanted to like the Seahawks this year, but that guy just rubs me the wrong way and now I find myself rooting against them every week.
@Nex:

Yeah, I guess you said that last week too. Whoops. I suppose that's what I get for not confirming the schedule for myself.
A Pats fan is complaining about a lack of Super Bowls? The hell? What a lack of appreciation for what that team has accomplished the last decade.
When I see a Pats fan act like that, all I can do is bring up spygate, and how they haven't been able to win it all since. I'm not saying they can't win without cheating, but rather I'm just saying that karma and the football gods haven't acted kindly towards the Patriots' handling of it. The whole "I didn't know I couldn't do that" act still annoys me to this day.
It's been 8 years, and I was to young to even remember the Super Bowl wins
It's been 8 years, and I was to young to even remember the Super Bowl wins
I'm proud of you then. You're not like a lot of Cowboy fans I know from back home. Most of them were 3-4 when the Boys last won a Super Bowl, but they all talk about "America's Team" like they were there.
My family is all pumped for today's Houston Texans game, although after last week's disappointing loss to Green Bay, I'm not as enthusiastic. We'll see how things start off in a few minutes.
Suggs is some kind of Wolverine, no way anyone should be able to come back that quick from that type of injury.
The Texans are playing as mad as I had expected them to, but I expected this sort of blowout to be the result of offense instead of defense. I'm very impressed by Suggs. The Rams are hanging tough with the Packers, too. I think the game I'm most interested in right now is the Redskins and the Giants.
It's been 8 years, and I was to young to even remember the Super Bowl wins
My apologies, you must be younger than I would have guessed.
The final call in the Bucs game was total bullshit
Yeah, I just watched the Bucs and Panthers both get ripped off by the officials at the end. Not sure either would have won the game either way, but they both would have had a shot.
You know(?) as much as everyone was saying how the packers put on a clinic and showed off our weaknesses last week, I can hardly fathom what they're going to say about the ravens now.
Kicked that ass real good. I'm a happy panda.
flacco looked Horrid btw.
Also, Yes. It's really amazing that suggs played 30+ snaps, but seriously guys, the TV announcers , that's ALL THEY TALKED ABOUT. Then, when we scored or made a play it was like "… oh yeah and wow look at that play!"
My dad and I were like " and? anything to say about suggs on that play? Well? No? Good."
Aaron Rodgers seems to have gotten back to MVP form. Two weeks in a row now that he's looked unstoppable.
the packers put on a clinic
Well, yes.
and showed off our weaknesses last week
But no, and I said as much last week. That performance last week simply wasn't a repeatable one.

To be fair, that's what was on my mind throughout the game, too. I expected the Texans to destroy them, so when it actually happened it didn't make much of an impression on me. I didn't expect Suggs to play that much or look that good, so that made a huge impression on me.
Where the Texans exceeded my expectations this week was with their defense against Flacco. Phenomenal stuff. They also looked better in the vertical passing game than I expected. But really, Suggs was still the most unexpected thing I saw in that game. His recovery seems inhuman. It's the one thing the Ravens can feel good about after this game, while the Texans have a whole lot.
Great game for the Texans against the Ravens today. Really made up for last week. Defense was amazing. The entire family was yelling and screaming throughout the game, haha.
I guess Tebow may be going from QB to RB
But no, and I said as much last week. That performance last week simply wasn't a repeatable one.
I know I know, I just think it'll be interesting to see what people say about the ravens. Funny thing is, people will rally behind them more than they would us, had we lost. I guess i still feel like we have more people to prove wrong up until we make it to the super bowl.

They even have his own game highlight reel. good lord. =_= Next week it's the bills! actually.. I don't recall ever playing them before? I 'm sure we have.. but not recently. O-o. Hmm, better check up on them. xD

Haha, yeah! My family is full of hardcore Texans fans, particularly my mother (I could hear her screams of joy from inside while I was outside whenever they got the 2 points from the Safety.) Even our relatives in Austin go for the Texans, as they refuse to cheer for the Dallas "Cowgirls."
I myself have only recently got involved as a fan, as before that I was rather apathetic towards sports. From the last couple years I've been watching, I'd have to say that the Texans have come a long way, and I'm glad to see them finally going strong. Not that last year was bad, but they're doing even better this season. It feels nice having some hometown pride.
Also, I'd like to comment how odd it is that Jacobe Jones is on the Ravens now, since he seems to be solely blamed for the Texans losing against the Ravens in last season's playoffs due to the numerous mistakes he had that game.

I thought that the rule in question didn't apply if you were forced out like the receiver clearly was and that it only applied if you stepped out and then were the first to touch the ball. Or is it only like that in college football?

Well, as much as I may dislike the Ravens, they've earned that over the years. They're consistently in contention year after year, and they've been decimated by injury. The Texans are still in the proving process, as much as I like them.
I know Urouge is one to, but I meant mainly. :P
Ehh, sort of. At least some of the credit goes to the fact that I really don't like the Ravens or the Patriots, so the Texans are my shining beacon of hope in the AFC.
Besides that, though, I like how that team is built, and I loved their resiliency last year after all those injuries they endured. It's also nice to see a city get back to prominence after losing a team (the Oilers in this case, obviously).
This Jets VS Pats game is intesnse
Sooooo close. I thought the Jets were going to pull it out there for a while. That team can be such a tease.

That's my impression of the rule. The fact that he got pushed out should negate the penalty. Well, really the fact that he got pushed out should be a penalty for illegal contact. That game should have gone to overtime if I understand that rule correctly.
It's not getting any press, but the Panthers had it just as rough. They were going to get the ball back with plenty of time and only need a field goal, but got called for a personal foul horse collar which wasn't even close. Anderson had his arms wrapped around the guy and brought him down by his chest, and this was after a separate timeout screwup by the officials that was also pretty ugly. Carolina held from there, but Dallas wound up eating a bunch more time off the clock and got a field goal. Carolina had to go the length of the field for a touchdown with no timeouts and not enough time to do it. It was far from a gimme, but they were robbed of their opportunity.
I love how the Jets are always on nat'l TV.
I tuned in at the end of the 4th quarter and their offense didn't look anemic. To think, they were only a few plays away from being 4-3
So is there anyone greater than Eli Manning when it gets to the ending of the game? I say no.

Tebow :ninja:
runs away trollishly laughing
because he kind of was. :P lol but yea man! nother home town game commin up!
Well, yeah. I guess I don't want to pin all of the blame on one player, but he made some critical mistakes that game, and although we tried to make up for it, in the end we couldn't. I heard that some people burned his jerseys and sent him death threats afterwards, but I'm hoping it was just gossip. Either way that game sure made for a dreary Sunday afternoon.
Anywho, another home game! woo!
Charles Woodson joins the ever growing list of Packer casualties with a broken collarbone. I guess he can keep Jennings, Finley, Raji, Bishop, Smith, Benson, Shields, the other Jennings, and Perry company for the next couple weeks. Yet out of all of them, Woodson might be the toughest one to replace.
Next man up. At least nobody who plays us can complain about injuries. Even the Ravens would be pushing it to try. Party like it's 2010.
LOL, the lions really imploded in the red zone didn't they? The Bears defense was superb, Dline, linebackers, corners, etc. All facets of it. But extra credit has to go to Peanut, shutting down megatron like that, three catches for only 34 yards. I hope people stop questioning Cutler's toughness after this game, especially after that hit by punk ass Suh. The NFC North is still a three team like a lot predicted, Detroit just ain't one of those teams lol. And I don't care that the hit was legal, Suh is forever on my NFL shitlist.
The Lions literally pissed that game away. 3 red zone turnovers and 2 muffed punts with one that was lost, and after all of it they only lost by 6 points. Of course, the Bears defense deserves praise since they're legit and they got it done, but they did need some help from the Lions to pull it off. Had the Lions pulled it off, the blame would have gone to the Bears anemic looking offense, which should have managed more than 13 points against a dismal secondary. The Bears legitimately got the W in the end and they should rightfully be happy about that. I'm not sure I buy the unbridled optimism coming from Chicago in response to it, though. If I were a Bears fan, I'd want to see that team be happy yet unsatisfied with that win. They won't beat good teams like that. They have the potential to be a serious title contender, but they'll need to play better going forward to do so.
The Suh hit was nasty and violent, but still clean. Suh didn't have much of him (the sleeve of his shirt), and Cutler was out of the pocket with his throwing arm free. All bets are off in that case, and making sure to get the QB down quickly trumps all else. It was within the rules, so I'd want my team to play that way, since anything less could well end up as an incomplete pass rather than a sack. I have little doubt that Suh was out to inflict as much pain as possible with that hit and he always plays with an edge, but it was within the rules and Cutler avoided serious injury so it's best to just move past it. Suh has a history of hits that aren't clean (especially on Cutler) which deserve scrutiny, but I'm not going to ostracize the guy when he actually keeps it legal. Football is a violent sport and Suh is a violent player, and that's part of the appeal. Similarly, I'll blast Cutler for his demeanor when it's poor, so it's only fair that I praise him for the same thing in this game. He handled himself well.
Tillman had the help over the top that should be expected which allowed him freedom, and he played a great game with it. I don't want to take anything away from the guy, and he's a great DB who played like it. But even still, Megatron didn't look totally healthy to me during that game. It seemed like he was being slowed down by some sort of leg or back injury. When healthy, I'd expect him to look better against any players and coverage the league could throw at him. He also dropped a wide open pass, and that never happens.
Somebody needs to beat Nex in fantasy football lol
Well that's not very nice

The Bucs were playing surprisingly well in the first quarter. Now they lost it for some reason. And then they got it back.

Man the vikings are butterfingers tonight
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
This is how the Bucs should be playing.
Wow, the Vikings got destroyed last night. That game should have meant way too much to that team to let that happen. If they win, they're 6-2, they seem legit, and everything is roses. Despite the teams that lie ahead of them on the schedule, it would feel like they might be able to compete anyway. But with a bad loss at home on a short week to a team with a losing record, it leaves them two games behind Chicago, tied with Green Bay, they look awful, and their remaining schedule seems absolutely brutal. It completely changes the feel of their season. It seems like they'd need to go 3-1 against Chicago and Green Bay head to head in order to finish better than 3rd in the division at this point, and that looks like too tall of an order, especially given the way Ponder has looked recently. I just can't get myself to take the Vikings seriously.
Now don't get me wrong on the Bucs. I think they're better than their record indicates. A few of their losses have been gut wrenching ones. They deserve credit for going into Minnesota on a Thursday and laying a beat down like that. Even still, the Vikings just have to play and look better in that situation if they have serious postseason goals. Yes, anything can happen, but the odds sure seemed to plummet for them after last night.
Charles Woodson joins the ever growing list of Packer casualties with a broken collarbone. I thought some of our guys were coming back next week. Well we didn't win the Super Bowl going 15-1 in the regular season, we were 10-6 and barely made the playoffs. So I'm all in 2010, all over again! Cowboys, Jets, and Eagles get too much credit on ESPN they won't get past NY or NE. More importantly is college football tomorrow, sadly my team will be knocked out of contention though, shit.
–Also just read your latest post, the Vikings weren't/aren't going anywhere with Ponder as QB. They could 8-0 and I still would give them no credibility.
Dang Jets are getting wrecked man
6 sacks in the first half…..Come on Bears.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Jennings, you are insane.
Really weird week for the NFC North all around. First the Vikings get just stomped on Thursday at home when considered heavy favorites. Then the Bears get absolutely outplayed at home by the 1 win Panthers but still manage to sneak out with a win like everyone Carolina plays close. Then the Packers look absolutely anemic at home without Jennings and Nelson against the 1 win Jags without MJD. They controlled the game all day, but still didn't look in any way dominant. Then the Lions, the one team that was supposed to lose, puts on a strong passing performance early against Seattle, which enables them to come out with a win in the end.
I think the NFC North is the best division in the NFL, but weeks like this are total head scratchers.
Fucking Chargers.
The Chargers are a joke
I still like the Chargers defense. But 6 points against the Browns? That won't get it done. I guess I don't understand why they've let every offensive skill player not named Gates that they've had get away. The Broncos are quickly slipping away from them. At least they're not the Chiefs. It turns out the Chiefs haven't drafted a quarterback that's ever won an NFL game since like 1990 or something. Sucking that much practically has to be done on purpose.
The AFC in general got some much needed redemption this week. The Broncos and Pats absolutely whipped the Saints and Rams. And the Steelers also put RG3 back in his place. The NFC West came out of the gate on fire, but they're coming back down to earth. They're still a lot better than they were two years ago, though. Other than the NFC North, the other NFC divisions are pretty much turning into one dominant team and the rest from what I can tell. The Cowboys are highly entertaining, though. I'm not sure any other team can be so spectacularly good and so spectacularly bad all at once.
Well I'd say the Chiefs are the frontrunner for the #1 pick in the next draft, should net them a decent QB.
Cards are not good. Niners win but Goldsons hit was like Doucet getting hit by a truck O.O
