It isn't without risk but it will much easier since she could see them coming and either put a snow defense, get to elemental form or avoided.

Though I wonder if Monet's Logia powers would let her manipulate icicles enough to fight with them from a distance, like using floating swords. That would be smart and unique for Zoro, though I don't know if she can do it.
Well, we don't know how good Monet is with her ice sabres. After all she did engage Zoro directly, instead of resorting to ranged attacks.
Tho I hope that Zoro will try one of his flying slashes on her, if only to confirm that haki can or can not be applied to intangible attacks.

I'm not so sure. I get the feeling the only reason she hasn't dropped the temperature to 40 below already is because she needs to keep the kids alive. She'll pull some tricks before this fight is over.
Either way, I get the feeling Monet's going to show us the practical limits of a logia power in this fight. Snow might be weaker than Ice, but in One Piece strength comes from how you use your abilities rather than how powerful they are.

*momo was not discovered by clown's henchmen…he boarded the ship himself. he wasnt on the list of kids abducted. so when he ate the dragon fruit, he was still not discovered since he is not on the list.
dofamingo was nice in the hallucination but momo got scared...im thinking something of more like doflamingo got friendly with momo and kinemon first but then backstabbed them in the end (i can also add that maybe baby 5 is from wano kuni and she's the one momo is trying to get back)

Personally, I'm still intrigued about why she had Law give her Harpy features. More than her alliegance, that's what interests me most of her character, as unlike the prisoners she has no reason to abandon her body, and being a logia she probably could have flown around the island (cold part at least) as snow.
I'm curious, Monet claimed her couldn't beat Luffy, will she be able to tell Zoro is close to on par with him? Seems inconsistent, but then again the kids seem like an important part of the plan. I don't really see Monet going for a direct battle unless forced too.

It is funny how Shounen manga are mentioned without considering the character´s personality. Luffy has his guard up against opponents who are worthy of it and against whom Luffy struggles in a fight. Luffy already knew in this case though that he would be the winner no matter what (you can call that dumb but it is how it is), so there was no need to feel threatened and to have his guard up. This is not supposed to diminish Monet though, her ability is still dangerous.
It's not about him knowing he'd win or feeling threatened by her or not..
She got the better of him because she's smart, she was stalling for time and obviously knew exactly what to do to accomplish that.
Luffy was basically in the same position he was in when he first met Caesar, having no knowledge about the persons ability or how dangerous they are.
He probably thought the same thing about Caesar when he first met him, that there was no way he could lose to him. But, just like with Caesar, Monet shows that she shouldn't be underestimated.

Maybe she feels more confident fighting a swordsman than Luffy? Though yeah, it might just be that she's forced to fight here and would explain why she just kinda left Luffy, if the kids are more important to her right now. Its less stupid for her to leave after Luffy just falls in a hole if she needed to get to the Biscuit room to stop the rest of the SH immediately.

I don't know. It sounds good but if you think back, it is too similar to Crocodile being involved with Alabasta and corrupting that country. Knowing Oda, Wano country won't be an isolated arc and it will be connected with the overall story but not sure if I want DD to be that connecting element. Maybe a Yonkou? Kaidou sounds Japanese so he could be from Wano or something.

He wasn't having a flashback, he wasn't hearing actual dialogue spoken by Doflamingo.

I'm no Aohige or CCC, but I can tell you that what Dofla image says is the same as (a part of) what Luffy says just before that hallucination, which is "しっかりしろ…!!!" (CCC translation would be “Get ahold of yourself!!”)

I can't really tell if Luffy is repeating saying it or not, but I think he is (because it says "oi/hey" too). I think Momo is hearing Luffy voice but his mind plays tricks on him, so Luffy's voice is heard as Dofla's in his head, plus the image of Dofla.

This man use to run Human Auction houses that sold a large variety of different peoples; from humans to fishmen, giants etc. etc.

I wouldn't be so sure of that… Individual snowflakes may be nothing to concern oneself about, but to dismiss Monet's threat level based purely on that is on par with dismissing Crocodile's abilities based on the "danger" of a single grain of sand.
Control over snow may not be as overtly dangerous as Aokiji's ice abilities, but if used skillfully and intelligently, they can most assuredly be dangerous. Monet has already shown that she can compact her snow into extremely hard, dense layers capable of withstanding a Jet Gatling from Luffy. In addition to their obvious defensive potential, these layers could be used to entrap an opponent - as shown, again, with Luffy. If said opponent were to be fully encased in snow of that density - something presumably well within Monet's ability - they would almost certainly be incapable of movement, to say nothing of unaided escape. And that is before factoring in the numbing cold they would be exposed to. In a more open setting, I expect she would be more than capable of manufacturing avalanches, which would be extraordinarily devastating to anything in their path and, if large enough, almost impossible to escape. And that doesn't take into account other mundane uses of her powers that I am simply not clever enough to consider at the moment.
Then you have her innate logia discorporation abilities, which - barring the exploitation of a natural weakness, a la Enel or Crocodile - essentially ensure that no one without CoA Haki can touch her, and any thematically appropriate abilities she may possess in the vein of Crocodile's powers of dehydration. And then you begin factoring in her actual physical abilities - including flight and her presumed proficiency with her giant icepicks. With all this talk of Crocodile, I have to wonder how Zoro will fair against someone with powers similar (though how much so remains to be seen) to a warlord, i.e logia power. None of them have been weak so far. Will it remain 1v1, or will it be a gang up like the caption suggested? This is actually a great test of Zoro's new abilities.

Quite true, quite true… That's precisely the sort of thing I had in mind (err...or not, given that the entire point of that statement was that I didn't. :p).
I don't expect Monet to use cutting style attacks the way Crocodile does, since sand is inherently abrasive and thus lends itself well to that sort of attack, but I could certainly see her using something like that as a means of applying her numbing cold to an opponent. As to truly weaponized techniques, I tend largely towards imagining the use of thick masses of snow in order to bludgeon or bury an opponent rather than blades or lances due largely to my assumption that they would be too brittle to be truly effective. Monet can compress her snow into an extremely hard state, but without a certain level of mass shoring it up, I cannot see it being able to withstand a decent blow or two. That said, if she were to compress a "blade" of snow (for example) enough, at some point the individual snowflakes would lose cohesion and convert into a mass of ice instead. While she would likely lose her ability to control it via her Devil Fruit powers, there is no reason she could not still manipulate it in a traditional manner, be it as a melee weapon (perhaps if one or both of her giant icepicks are destroyed) or as part of a trap (such as a pit of icicle spears covered with a thin and purposely fragile layer of snow to mask its presence).
The Whiteout and Snow Blindness ideas seem particularly likely to be in her repertoire, though the latter would probably require access to a more open battlefield that the Biscuit's Room appears to be as well as a sufficiently strong light source to pull off.

I frankly don't see the logic of the "Vergo is a new Pacifista model" theory. Vergo joined the Marines so he could act as a spy, not to become part of some crazy experiment that would result in him losing his free will.

Not sure what to make of the Yuki-Yuki no Mi. I means Fire and Magma are two clearly different things. Gas and smoke are also different but there is some overlap there however Caesar has shown that his fruit can do much much more than smokers, still if Caesar wanted to he should be able to turn into some type of smoke, he also has some overlap with magellan's poison fruit but again, he can do more. But Snow is really just small particles of ice which is Aokiji's fruit. Obviously it's much weaker seeing as she isn't freezing anyone solid but it will be interesting to see how oda shows the differences and limitations of the fruit.
Also i wonder what happens when a Logia meets another Logia who controls a higher tier version of there fruit. Like Smoke is a Gas so Caesar should be able to manipulate it and Snow is Ice so Aokiji should also be able to manipulate it.

I don't know (smoke is more than just gas btw), but I assume Oda is going to avoid those encounters entirely. They raise too many questions as to exactly how logia DFs work. I mean, Enel should be able to control just about everything given how instrumental the electromagnetic force is in holding together all forms of matter in the universe, but his power was treated the same way electricity is in fantasy games or even Pokemon (LIGHTING).

Ah nice to see someone esle say that :happy: I'm getting tired of seeing people say they are the 'same element'[HIDE] Gas and smoke are also different but there is some overlap there however Caesar has shown that his fruit can do much much more than smokers, still if Caesar wanted to he should be able to turn into some type of smoke, he also has some overlap with magellan's poison fruit but again, he can do more. But Snow is really just small particles of ice which is Aokiji's fruit. Obviously it's much weaker seeing as she isn't freezing anyone solid but it will be interesting to see how oda shows the differences and limitations of the fruit.
Uh no. Smoke is more than gas. A common definition of smoke is=
"Smoke is a collection of airborne solid and liquid particulates and gases emitted when a material undergoes combustion or pyrolysis". It has solid particles (and some liquid according to some sources) in it as well, and gas is a different state than solid. Caeser is gas logia, and only gas
The only overlap with Magellen is both can create poisonous gas. I don't see it as a problem, as one is paramecia that secretes any poison and other is logia that transforms into gas.
I had thought that snow and ice as the same, just a difference in hardness. But a search online showed me difference. This is the repeated answer I got to "what is the difference between snow and ice?"=

{but to complicate things Wikipedia says=Snow is a form of precipitation in the form of crystalline water ice, consisting of snowflakes that fall from clouds. Since snow is composed of small ice particles, it is a granular material.

Also i wonder what happens when a Logia meets another Logia who controls a higher tier version of there fruit. Like Smoke is a Gas so Caesar should be able to manipulate it and Snow is Ice so Aokiji should also be able to manipulate it.
Ah I just showed above they are not the same so I don't think that CC can control smoke or Aokiji can control snow.
I don't know (smoke is more than just gas btw), but I assume Oda is going to avoid those encounters entirely. They raise too many questions as to exactly how logia DFs work. I mean, Enel should be able to control just about everything given how instrumental the electromagnetic force is in holding together all forms of matter in the universe, but his power was treated the same way electricity is in fantasy games or even Pokemon (LIGHTING).
Though this chapter raised an interesting question: If there are separate Ice and Snow Logias, shouldn't that mean Kuzan's power can't make it snow? How then is half the island like winter with the other half like a firestorm? Akainu is obviously capable of setting things on fire easily enough, but Ice itself as a power shouldn't cause snowstorms. Monet might be the one creating the island's duality the same way Croc was affecting the weather in Alabasta.
As I said above, I just found out that snow (frozen vapor) is different than ice (frozen water), so nope Kuzan can't make it snow. But by the same token, in the real world magma doesn't create the flames. Magma is just molten rock. Its the intese heat that causes things to dry out and combust, so the flames are a byproduct of the magma. Just as ice can make it so cold that snow can form
But remember it's been two years from that battle. So pently of time for the extreme heat/cold to create the scene.
I think we are going to see soon that DF's are related in some way. Monet seems intelligent enough to know such things, I'm sure somebody has to "ask isn't this Aokiji's fruit?" considering he is one of two admirals they've all fought or seen in person. She might not know what DF are exactly but she might know enough about their relationships. What is weird is Monet's sword seems to be made of ice, I mean how do you have a sharp snow saber?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA So I was carefully reading this thread. Trying to piece together some truth amongst the sub-par theories that always seem to jump to the extremities when, that's not always how Oda plans his story arcs. I think everyone needs to chill out and just look at the facts, there aren't that many… Therefore, making crackpot theories prematurely will just cause everyone's butt to explode.
That one image has saved this thread though, jesus christ now I can't look at that event as anything more than humour. I'm bad.
