More TMNT news. TMNT 2003 is getting a complete series (including Fast Forward, Back to the Sewer, and Turtles Forever) dvd boxset on July 25th.
-
It always annoyed how Nickelodeon/Nicktoons never showed the entirety of season 5, none of FF, or back to the Sewer.
Made damn sure to air Turtles Forever as many times as possible though.
-
Using actual teens to play Teenage Turtles! Who knew? And all the celebs all playing mutants.
-
Teenagers acting like teenagers:

The film looks great, I‘ll be seeing this with my kids for sure.

Why the interesting animation design? Inspired by the doodles we all made in our notebooks in high school:

Well this is some big news, Nickelodeon and Paramount have finally secured the rights of the 1987's TMNT tv series. And its coming to Nickelodeon next month.

Cool now get the rights to the 03 series so you can air every episode past half of season 5
-
I know Paramount+ got the entire TMNT 2003 series (including Fast Forward and Back to the Sewer). Since I been rewatching TMNT 2003 on Paramount+. Which I'm in the middle of the Turtles in Space multiparter at the beginning of Season 2.
-
A new TMNT tv series have been announced as well a sequel to Mutant Mayhem.
-
I don't understand deciding on sequels before they've even seen opening weekend numbers.

Confidence.
And probably to ensure this doesn’t wind up like the last CGI Turtles movie.

They already put in the development time and built the CG models, may as well get a show out of it. Probably spreads the costs and budget around some too. And since they cast actual kids to be the turtles this time, need to get em while they still sound the same.
Animation has such a long pipeline that if you're going to have a cartoon spinoff of a movie you have to decide way in advance. Sometimes it works out like Men in Black or Starship Troopers.
Sometimes it doesn't like... Osmosis Jones.

Mutant Mayhem is getting really great review right now.

97% on the tomatometer:
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/teenage_mutant_ninja_turtles_mutant_mayhemThis is a passion project for Seth Rogen, and it shows.
-
It's crazy Seth Rogen is involved as a producer with alot of the great recent animated projects with this movie and Invincible. Its making me really optimist for the upcoming Darkwing Duck series that he's involved in.
-
He loves cartoons. All the better for someone who loves cartoons produce animated stuff.
-
Nickelodeon on their TMNT youtube channel. They posted the entire first season of TMNT 1987 for free.
-
TMNT 1987 is now airing on the Totally Turtles channel on Pluto tv.
-
From what I watch so far on the Pluto tv Totally Turtles channel stream for the 1987 series. I can say the version of the episodes that Nickelodeon and Paramount got looks way better then what we got on the dvd. I'm more curious to see how the episodes of Season 3 and Season 4 looks. Since several episodes on the Season 3 dvds didn't look really good look like they were from the Family home Entertainment releases.
-
Hey look, it's Kevin Eastman!
-
Just saw the movie. And I will preface this by saying that I've never been the biggest TMNT fan. I never really got into the them as a kid and while I have warmed up to them a bit as an adult, I still wouldn't say they're one of my all-time favorite franchises. But this movie looked really fun based on the trailers, so I wanted to check it out.
And yeah, it's pretty good. It's no Spider-verse, but still pretty good.
-
@Nobodyman what did you expect the comedy would be having Seth Rogan as a writer?
-
@pariston_hill To be honest, I'm really not that familiar with his movies. I've seen Superbad and that's it.
-
It's a really enjoyable film and pretty much the first time the Turtles actually felt like teenagers to me. The first film is still the best TMNT film for me but this is pretty comfortably in second place.
-
I think the franchise is essentially guaranteed. My understanding’s that a tv show and sequel is already in development. https://movieweb.com/seth-rogen-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-tv-series-at-paramount-following-mutant-mayhem/
Glad too because the movie was fun. The actions scenes were amazing, and yeah the humor was hit or Miss for me, but the heart seemed in the right place throughout.
-
On the Totally Turtles channel, there are now up to beginning of Season 4 (the final syndication episodes before the move to CBS Saturday Morning episodes during the middle of Season 4) of the original series. I still enjoyed the third and fourth season of the original series. Since these the episodes I watch alot of due to the Family Home Entertainment vhs tapes. I will say alot of the episodes that I watch so far of the Season 3 and 4 episodes looks way better then the Liongate dvd releases. I don't know if its because Nick got a better video masters of the show or not.
-
Really enjoyed the voice cast to have the Turtles come off as actual teenagers, in particular I liked Mikey's VA the most, just the particular cadence and enthusiasm...I don't know, it fit perfectly.
-
I liked the movie and the character chemstry was fantastic, but really wish I was 8 years old because then I would have loved it. Its skewed a bit too young for me. That's okay, I've long since stopped being the target audience.
I will say I never in my life expected THAT song to be in a movie soundtrack. Let alone for an action sequence. And character bonding! AND emotional scene! That's pretty impressive and I'll certainly at least watch that part again when it hits home viewing.
That said, the movie ends so, so far from the usual status quo I'm actually pretty curious where it goes from here. It's definitely going to be DIFFERENT.

The first two seasons of TMNT 1987 is coming to Paramount+ on September 19th.
-
-
I got the Shredder's Revenge dlc. Karai is really fun to play in the game.
-
Watched Mutant Mayhem. Really loved the sketch/claynimation style. The soundtrack fits to a t. The hallway scene was great. Ice Cube was real smooth, almost superfly,
Now my bones to pick
Still think Rise is better. -
The first two seasons of TMNT 1987 and Mutant Mayhem is now up on Paramount+.
-
I finally had a chance to watch Mutant Mayhem. I really enjoyed the movie. The fight animation during the scenes with the turtles taking down all the New York crime family was really great. I'm glad that this movie focus alot on the family aspect of TMNT. I actually didn't mind that the movie having the Foot Clan involved.

The third season of TMNT 1987 is coming to Paramount+ on January 24th.

Teaser trailer for Tales of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is out.
