Gather around children, for the tale of Buggy vs. Otohime!

The beloved Queen Otohime was, in those days, hyping due to her most noble flashback being current news at that time, and Buggy the clown … well, Buggy is Buggy, a solid character with a solid fanbase of support.
So around the time when people were saying Otohime would go far, she gets paired early on against Buggy of all people. Some members who were predicting a bright future for Otohime, like Urouge, abandoned the heroic mermaid to support the clown, while several others of us persevered with Otohime.
The campaigns for both sides were glorious, rapid and memorable. Buggy was blessed with a magnificent AMV from Urouge (which you should check out) as well as a staunch fanbase with several unique and original campaign ideas. Meanwhile, the Otohime side, having only a couple of pages from the manga to work with, saw equally original work and ideas from the likes of Hiroy and Kitsune and Buster Call's daughter (if my memory serves me right). We saw otohime go from loving mother and queen in some campaigns, to a speeding car and mafia badass in others.
Throughout the day and night of the match both sides fought, into the wee hours of the morning, and back and forth the tide would go. Until the fated moment at which the polls were to end, and both sides of the battle found themselves in a tie! Cries were heard and herds would cry, for rarely such a compromise was reached. Buggy supporters and Otohime supporters left aside their grudge and joined hands, a moment best symbolized by what I believe was Sai-chan's drawing of Otohime and Buggy shaking hands, and even sharing a beer!

And then the next round they were both simultaneously taken down by Brook. :ninja:

Else I can't really name another favorite apart from the usual. Enel runs always strong, Magellan has brutal campaigns…and so does Buggy.

I was actually a little bit surprised to not see him post-ts (though that doesn't necessarily rule it out). After that personal confrontation, seems like he'd have a score to settle, and his spirit was acknowledged by Zoro. He's also fun. The nice guy with a scary face.

Maybe we'll see him again, and maybe he'll go through some serious things, because he has to accept that pirates can be kind and do good things as well and aren't necessarily asses.

I liked how everyone around him was like: Oh Captain T-Bone, he's so gall- OH GOD he looked at me with his scary face…
I'd like to know how a knight ended up with the marines...

Also, in one of the sbs-es, someone asked Oda if T-Bone was a zombie, to which Ode eventually answered that he was a normal human.
