A new humble bundle is live and it is quite an awesome one, it has already went over $2 million. As always you can spend as much as you want, even a penny, but if you spend more than the average (currently about $7.50) you also receive Bastion. If you spend more than a dollar you unlock the games for Steam.
Humble Bundle (Amnesia, Psychonauts, LIMBO, S&S EP)

goodbye my monies
and what little free time i had
-
Sweet, just finished building myself a new PC so I could actually start playing multi-platform games on it. I'll through down about $20 methinks, maybe a bit more as tomorrow is payday.
I've never actually played Bastion or Amnesia, and I've been really wanting to for a long time now.
-
This is totally worth for Bastion, it's an amazing game though it's kinda short. I already own it, but I want the soundtrack and Psychonauts, so I'll have to think on this.
-
Already got LIMBO and Bastion, but I'd throw in some cash for Amnesia and Psychonauts. Don't recognize the other games though.
-
Just bought it for $15, very nice. Always wanted to try out these games.
-
Hmmm, so I can plop down $10 and get all those games AND the OSTs?
-

You can pay whatever you want for all games and OSTs except Bastion. Paying more than the average will make you get Bastion and it's OST aswell.
By the way, a video showing a bit of the game S&S.
-
So..yeah, $10 it is then! Glad I got paid today.
-
I gotz no monies and pay day for me isn't until the 15th, so I'm all out of luck…
And then I visited a friend not too long ago who gave back $18 that I let him borrow BACK IN SEPTEMBER that he just never got around to using, so hooray!
Never even heard of Bastion until recently, so I'm excited to download this bundle tomorrow. But first, sleep.
-
Already have 3 of the 5 games and Amnesia is the only one that I've beaten. I already have too many indie games, I don't need any more :ninja: . Everyone that hasn't played it though should play Amnesia. It's awesome.
-
Once I saw the the price breakdowns, I decided to give $15.
Downloading Bastion now, going a bit slow, but I guess that's the price I gotta pay for getting 5 games + OSTs for $15.
-
Has anyone been monitoring the top payers? Notch and an account called "HumbleBrony" keep paying more and more to stay at the top of the list .
-
Notch better not judge me for only donating a dollar.
-
Hey I've been meaning to get Pychonaughts and Bastion for a while now!
-
psst
Have extra copy of Bastion.
Anyone interested? 1st post first serve.

I'll take it.
-
I'll take it.
Alrighty then. I'll PM ya the steam code.
I'd have done that already if your message box wasn't apparently 100% full.
-
Cleared. Have at it.
-
Played around a bit with each of these.
Bastion: This one's pretty unique, and I love how they go about narrating it. Playing with a track pad is a bit difficult, so I'll definitely need a mouse to play this one at it's finest.
Limbo: Simple and pretty creepy. I like the visual take, it has that old movie feel to it. All I know is he's apparently looking for his sister.
Psychonauts: About an hour in, I like the concept so far. Haven't done a whole lot, so I can't really say much.
Superbrothers Sword and Sorcery… Kinda weird. Can't remember the last point and click I played, and the combat is pretty rigid. The soundtrack is nice, though!
-
Aaand Steam has added 3 new games into the Bundle! Braid, Super Meat Boy, and Lone Survivor.
I already had Braid and Super Meat Boy, but I've never heard of Lone Survivor. It's a survivor horror kind of game, but the survival can be done anyway you want to, I suppose. You could kill everyone, or hide and eat food, or rely on drugs, etc.
-
So I'm about to get a new desktop next week and I was wondering if I download the games on my current desktop is there a way I can transfer the game to my new desktop next week?
-
Not unless you get them on a usb or some external drive, BUT you get a link via e-mail that lets you download unlimited
powercopies of the game -
Downloaded the bundle this afternoon and have been trying out some of the games. Amnesia in particular I've been wanting to play almost since it came out and just never got around to picking it up. Same for Super Meat Boy, Bastion, and Limbo - to get them all for such a low price (while supporting charity) is just so damn awesome.
I have to say that Lone Survivor was a real hidden gem for me in this package. Excellent macabre atmosphere, very akin to a side-scrolling Silent Hill. Braid I've already played on the PS3, but is definitely worth another playthrough - gorgeous level design and music. Limbo is dark, mysterious and minimalistic, Super Meat Boy quirky, unique and challenging (and how! Also, the music for this game is incredible). Bastion is absolutely beautiful, with lush and colorful environments and excellent, engaging narration. And Amnesia is every bit as intense and terrifying as I hoped it would be. The 5 soundtracks are a nice plus too!
This really is such an amazing deal. Anyone who doesn't own these games already owes it to themselves to check it out.
-
So how does this work? I buy the bundle, and then they email or show me the activation codes? Do I have to buy it on the computer I'm going to play it with?
-
You get an email, which gives you a page to direct download or (if you met the $$) Steam codes for the games. I dont think it matters which computer you buy it on, especially so if you take advantage of the Steam system.
-
I love Humble Bundles and have gotten every one of them, sharing the indie love with friends. But perhaps I shouldn't have started somebody out with a game as hard as Braid…
-
Ghh… I had to buy it, even if I already had over half of the games, it was Bastion half off, plus some other games.
I bought Psychonauts and Braid last week ffs! (I had Amnesia and SMB from the portal 2 release pack last year)
Eh, they were on sale last week.
-
GOOD LORD Braid is frustrating!
-
-
I love Braid, and someday, I'll get the rest of those stars…
-
Bought it on the closing day. It makes 5 games of 8 that I didn't have, totally worth it. I just don't like how slow is my internet while downloading Bastion' soundtrack.
-
I would buy it solely to play Psychonauts again…such a great game
-
It was far more of a great bargain to let it go that way even though I already owned Amnesia and Braid.
-
Feels great to finally play Super Meat Boy outside the demo. Pretty much satisfies all my cravings in a gauntlet styled platformer.
The other games are great too, but I'm a bit absorbed in SMB's fast paced nature to a point where I'd finish it first and the rest for times where I have nothing to do.
-
I think I'mma need to invest in a PC controller to play Bastion >_>
-
If you have a 360 controller I think all you need to do is buy a cheap USB blutooth thing and you can use it on your PC.
-
Or if you have a PS3 controller, you can install Motioninjoy.
Won't work for Macs, though.
I'm probably going to go the 360 controller route, but I really don't want to have to buy one just to play a few games.
-
Get a Logitech or any controller where you can customize through software. I use mine for games and shortcut keys in programs.
-
Guess I'll make this the official Humble Bundle thread? I'm guessing it'll get more exposure than just posting it in the General gaming thread.
Current Humble Bundle is from Double Fine and includes Psychonauts, Costume Quest, and Stacking. If you beat the average you also get Brutal Legend. $35 or more and you get backer access and a documentary to Broken Age, the adventure game they got funded via Kickstarter. $70 or more gets you a T-shirt.
Also there's Humble Weekly Sales now. This week Remedy is offering the Alan Wake series.
-
Alan Wake is great. If you guys haven't played it I'd highly recommend picking it up.
-
I picked up the first one when I bought my 360. I'd go ahead and get in on this if only for American Nightmare alone, but I highly doubt my laptop can play it in a decent compacitiy. So far there's only been two games (I've tested) this generation that run great on my laptop; BioShock 1 and Resident Evil: Revelations.

Awsome! I was waiting for a moment to grab Costume Quest. Thanks for the reminder.

I love when these bundles feature games I've been on the fence about buying. I've considered at least four of these but hadn't actually bought any of them.
