@omae:
Here's one. I scoured through the Cartoon Database and couldn't find it. Caaaaan you?
I watched this movie on the Disney Channel. It was about a calico cat who lived in a world with other talking cats. I believe he was eiher dreaming or slipped and knocked himself out but he saw himself in different scenarios such as walking on the paddle wheel of a paddle-wheel boat down in the South, worked in a restaurant or something like that and ended up tied to a post and was attacked by Indians in the Wild West. Really weird but it was a movie not a series. Does anyone remember this???
I know this movie, but I can't remember the title… Actually, I think there were two movies, the first that had a real plot, and the second which looks like it was made by animators on crack. If I remember correctly, one of the themes in the second movie was that the main character must regain his tail back, which fell off??? I believe it had to do with him being rejected by the society 'cause of this handicap...
Yes, Unico was Tezuka's creation.
Speaking of unicorns, I must say this is one of my favorite cartoons that I've watched as a kid...
The Last Unicorn
And the animation was gorgeous.
Also, I loved Voltron and Saber Rider as much as the next guy, but I'd really like to see the original japanese versions. I mean, the fact that all villains in Saber Rider when shot at or cut with a sword would just end up being sent into their dimension really went on my nerves, it was screaming "political corectness".
I loved Batman: The Animated Series, as well as the Mask of the Phantasm movie, but it really lost me when they started using the same animation as it was in Superman. I mean, a Joker without his red lips? You gotta be kidding me… He really looked like a friggin' clown.
Although storywise it wasn't so good, I loved the The Lord of the Rings animated movie because of the animation style.
Jonny Quest is one of my favorite all time TV shows. But I hated "The Real Adventures…", the fact that entire episodes would take place in that crappy 3D virtual reality environment simply annoyed me.
I loved ReBoot, it was a really fun show.
Il Ãtait une fois… la vie easily takes the mantle as the most educating cartoon ever, and it was god damn fun too.
Although I didn't see much of it, The New Animated Adventures of Flash Gordon was pretty good. At least the parts I've seen.
As for anime shows, I loved Nadia, Treasure Island, Kickers, Star of the Seine, Cat's Eye, Robin Hood, The Rose of Versailles, Little Princess Sara, and of course, Dragonball.
And damn, how I loved Swat Kats, there are no words to describe the awesomeness of that animation style. Too bad it was so short.
I almost forgot, the animated adaptation of George Orwell's Animal Farm is easily one the greatest movies that I've ever seen. A true classic, although a bit more suitable for adults than for kids.
