hahaha… depends on your opinion, i guess, but i personally thought that line was really badass. just because it's been heard "plenty of times in other animes" doesn't change the fact that it was awesome and that it set the mood for their upcoming battle very well.

I have a clue why Luffy and Zoro can not win becasue simply Lucci and Kaku are better fighters and stronger than Luffy and Zoro. That is why the strawhat victory is going to have to be unexplainable and very questionable.
Hell i even question most of Luffy's victories becasue clearly their not decisive.
If Lucci looses it won't be because of Luffy's fighting skills it will be some nonsense with his determination and dreams. As usual.

He was willing to put a bullet through Miss All-Sunday's skull. I think that's enough to show that he's willing to strike a woman if he has to. Allowing a woman with intent to kill to have her way isn't being a gentleman, it's idiocy.
And as soon as she knocked him down onto the deck, he noticed she was a beauty. Sanji wouldn't have done that had he known she was an angel from the start. He just couldn't tell that All-Sunday/Robin was sexy. Plus the fact that scene alone is out of character for Sanji as a whole. (Since when does Sanji suddenly decide, oh hell with it, I'll just break my no hands rule and pull out gun for no reason?)

I like the show I also can see how some of Luffy's wins are nonsense, and is quite unexplainable. Really it is becoming very repetitive.

I had to laugh when I read Fukuro's "If you want to get Robin, you'll have beat us FIRST!!" speech because it is such a classic zako (small-fry) line. Not "we're gonna kill you," not "prepare to die," but "come and beat us." OF COURSE they're going to beat you! This is One Piece, not Goddamn Mystery Theatre Hour!
And although the "split up and hide a bazillion keys" is pretty old hat, I'll admit that at least this time it makes some amount of sense. Ah hell, I'm not complaining. It wouldn't be OP if it didn't do the classic shonen standards proud.

Well.. only 30 or so chapters ago, it was against his policy to use knives or his hands in combat, but he did. So like with the Wanze fight, given the right set of circumstances against Calipha, he could perhaps fight her normally without restraint, but also without going against his ground rules.

No, it does not lack any reason for Luffy's weakness, simply most of his wins are very much unexplainable.
Yet again he is faced with opponents stronger than him and yet for some odd unexplainable reason he still is going to win because of his excuses about him becoming "Pirate King". Hell he keeps making groundless statements and yet he keeps getting his ass handed to him.
Unfortunately Oda tries to cover up Luffy's weak butt, Hell most of his victories are not clear or decsicive.

Sanji DID NOT break his rule of not using his hands or knives in combat.
Yes he was in a fight where he did use knives but he did not use it to cut or hurt his opponent. Merely to disable him by chopping up the food (you know, what kitchen knives do) Wanze used.It was more of a "Bending of the rules" rather than all out breaking them.

SANJI VS. CALIFA? Nami vs. a swordsman? All RIGGGHHHHHT! Oda's mixing it up a litttle! This is GREAT!
I'm sure Sanji can find a loophole. He was prepared to defend Nami against Robin when he wasn't sure about Robin (before he got a good look at her). Califa strikes me as prideful, though she's probably got a few tricks up her sleeve (I don't think she'll try to seduce him or anything though because hey, she's a superfeminazi). She'll also accuse him of sexual harrassment. Those are the only two things I'm sure of.
As for Wanze, he stated that since he's in the kitchen, he can use knives (hey, that's what chefs do. Use knives in the kitchen).

It's not so much the fruit, it's the fact that a sword ATE it. It makes you wonder if it's the will of the sword or the will of the animal that makes it change back and fourth, or if the owner some how controls it.
