Being 13 episode sets, I can see the Voyages working as BD/DVD since they are the minimum amount of episodes FUNi releases. The Collections will probably be separate purchases, either Blu-ray or DVD, due to the high episode count.

at the panel did anyone ask any OP questions at the end??????
http://bayoab.info/live/live2.php?panel=0
i usually use this site but theres no 2012 panels, anyone know any other websites??????? -
I can't see the Collections for 207+ being BD since regular DVD Players don't accept those discs and it would mean that the Collection prices would end up being slightly higher. Doing BD only on Collections isolates all the people who purchased every Collection set that doesn't have a Blu-Ray Player, while making it regular DVD suits both groups. I think FUNi will just have BD only on the Voyages (be it a Combo Pack or separate release) so that all the people who want HD will just get those instead.
-
I think they probably are going go to the DB Kai route for the release of Season 4.
-
I wouldn't mind a BD-only collection. They could also do seperate DVD collections.
-
I have a question. I just ordered movie eight on Blu-ray, and I haven't seen the entire arc yet. Would it hinder my enjoyment of the arc when I do finish it once collection five comes out if I watch this before that?

It may, it certainly will spoil you on certain upcoming events.
-
I don't care much about spoilers, I just hope it doesn't make the actual TV arc less enjoyable.
-
That most likely won't happen. It's a great arc.
-
It won't. It'll actually make the arc better as the movie isn't really that good.
-
I think watching the full TV arc first would be better, since there's more time for development and detail, though there was one line that I preferred the movie's delivery of (Luffy's last attack) compared to the TV's.
-
It's like Movie 9, things are changed up so that the experience of the actual anime arc isn't ruined. You'll most definitely love 'em both ^^

Well, compared to Movie 9, Movie 8 isn't really changed up at all.

so when will we hear the earliest on the new Voice castings for the next season of One piece, I'm curious as to who they cast as Foxy.

Probably sometime near the first release of Season 4, FUNimation doesn't like to hype things too early.
-
When do new FUNi title solicitations usually come out? I'm still anxiously awaiting the announcement of a Release date for both OP S4V1 and FUNi's upcoming releases of Hellsing (Both Re-releasing the old stuff and the new eps)

Honestly it could be anytime they want to. They announced the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Dragon Ball Z Kai casts months before their release. So it could be whenever.

They usually give release dates 2 sometime even 3 months before a product comes out. Except for exceptions like movies where they give a DVD/BD release date months in advance.

One Piece Collection Five trailer:
-
I got the movie today, and I didn't really like it. Everything seemed to move far too fast and the animation was shit in some parts.

Yep, you watches the worst part of the franchise so don't act as if you walked into this thinking it would be something like movie 10.
-
Oh no, I heard before I watched that it was shit. I was just worst than I expected.
-
I find it funny that people hate it so much. Yeah, it is, without a doubt, the weakest entry in the OP movies imo, but I can sit back and enjoy watching it for what it is. I just wish Funi would bring out the new version with the newly added scenes of Whiskey Peak…'cause those were awesome!
-
If anything, they'll probably save that version for when they put the movies out sequentially; that way they can actually advertise it as the eighth film, "with new, never-before-seen footage!"
-
Yeah, about the other movies, I have a gut feeling if and when FUNimation licenses those, it'll be a similar deal that France and Germany got. For those who don't know in France and Germany Kaze licensed movies 1 through 10 and are releasing them in order a few months apart from each other.

I disagree. I think movie three was the weakest. And movie one behind it.
It was nice to see the great animation of the 8th film- the Alabasta arc deserved that type of animation. The pacing and skipped scenes ruined it , certainly.Edit: I ahven't seen movie 9, but was that better than this? I can't imagine it being better…
-
Movie 9 was Oscar worthy compared to Movie 8.
-
Indeed, Movie 9 was great IMO compared to 8, 1, 3, 4, AND 7. It's Drum Island arc but with Robin and Franky squished in. Plus the animation is really nice, reminded me of Movie 6.
-
I kind of always saw the One Piece movies following the "Star Trek rule". Where the even-numbered movies are great and the odd-numbered ones were under-whelming or sucked.
It was reversed with movies 8 & 9 but went back to normal with 10 & 11 (that CGI thing is a movie right?) -

And then of course after that we'll get bundle packs like with the DragonBall movies. The thing is though, since Movie 8 didn't do so hot it does kinda lower one's hopes for the New World movie (12). But then again it could very well recieve a lot of hype and therefore become more of a fan favorite than it would be without hype. Like STRONG WORLD. And I can also see why Movie 8 wouldn't recieve much fan hype or anticipations since fans already knew the general plotline.
My favorite movie is still Dead End Adventure, so I'd really hope if they pick another movie to dub it would be that one. Or Movie 6.
-
I've finally seen movie 11. Need to see it in high def bluray 3d. I've got this nifty 3d display and not a single anime in 3d to watch on it.
Do any anime series even exist in 3d?
And when I say 3d I don't mean 3d rendered hentai. However that might be nifty too. -

Yeah, Movie 3 was "meh," but when I say weakest, I mean in terms of content. While Movie 3 was not that good, it was at least new content (story, villains, setting, etc.)…Movie 8 was just a compressed version of something we've already seen.
And like others said, Movie 9 is awesome and ranks among my favorite OP movies!
-

Agreed, definitely.
Edit: I think 4 and 6 were my favorite. But I haven't seen 9+.
-
I think Movie 7 is a bit underappreciated. It
s by no means as good as Movie, 4, 6 or 10 (haven
t seen 9 yet) but I think it is, shiny, jiggling boobs aside, an alright, enjoyable movie. Also, it`s soundtrack is pretty good. -
Yeah, I enjoyed Movie 7. I liked the obvious parallels between the treasure they were looking for and the One Piece. Plus I love Inoue's animation style so a whole movie of that was great!
-
The only ones I hated were 1 and 3. The others were decent to great.
Anyways, any predictions on which episodes are in which sets. We'll have to wait for the second set (probably for Fall) for a bit of Water Seven… :[
-
Movie 7 was Ok plot wise, but the jiggling boobs were like "…really?..."
-
This pretty much how I think Season 4 will be episode wise on each set.

S4V3: 230 - 241 (12 Episodes)

Wow, seeing all those episodes listed as blocks of seasons makes the reality of being over 300 episodes behind not hurt as much.
I still want them new episodes on bluray.
Hollywood is just now releasing Indiana Jones on bluray. bout time donchathink -
Yeah, we're not that far behind by looking at the episodes in seasons blocks.
-
Oh, gosh. We might not see any Water Seven at all until the THIRD set? Damn you, fillers! We'll be part way through fall by then! :[
-
Part of me…wait, no...ALL of me wants them to skip past the whole voyages thing and just release the episodes in collection format. That'd be swell.
-
This is technically Funimation-related, but about a couple of minutes ago on G4, for the first time in years….One Piece was on American television.
You can watch it here: http://www.g4tv.com/videos/57532/asian-undergrounds-guide-to-watching-anime-online/
You wouldn't believe how excited I was, even though it was only a few clips from Movie 8. And they had it titled as "One Piece: Strong World" and one of the guys called Luffy "Luthy" for some reason. -
I'll admit…all errors aside....I got tingles from watching.

Samwize wouldn't normally post something like that. I'll let it slide this time…
