Wow the lighter scan looks so much better… You lose so much in the blochy one.

Wow that's a big difference. K now I'm convinced, I'll just skim through scans and purchase sja until I just drop scans altogether. Hopefully that works.

I want Beelzebub …
@Venomous:
Looks like volume 59 has once again made it in the new york times best sellers list after being absent last time.
Even though its on the bottom im just glad its got some staying power.
Too bad these don't have top 20 seller list. I'd like to know how Psyren is selling. I've read the whole series, and I see that they've listed 6 volumes up on Amazon to be released within the following year, out of a total of 16; so I'd like to know if it fares well before I sink my money into it. Don't want Reborn to be repeated, though that prolly failed because the gag manga bits in the first volumes put people off.
-
Are there any statistics about just how many copies they're selling?
-
I don't know why they wouldn't publish all the volumes. I mean, they picked up the series just as it was canceled.
-
I think they will finish Psyren it has 16 complete volumes right? Reborn made it 16 volumes before being put on hiatus and Gintama made it to 23 before being cancelled. I hope they finish the series at least, I have been enjoying it.
-
I would love it if they put HUNTER x HUNTER in WSJ Alpha. Though, the 6 they have is fine with me. Just thought I'd throw that out there since we're on topic of manga we wish we'd see in it. Also I bet if Gin Tama wasn't cancelled by VIZ then it would be in Alpha. It was actually pretty popular, no idea why they cancelled it.

Because It wasn't popular and didn't sell enough.
-
It was actually both popular and sold decently, they just seemed almost as it they themselves didn't want to continue.
-
Thanks for the Psyren info! I've ordered it along with a new Naruto and One Piece on amazon, and a Blue Exorsist volume and Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan. Two series I've taken a liking to.
Was waiting to decide for I wanted free shipping for an order above 25 pounds. Couldn't order them on bookdepository because they were 6.99£, whereas they were 4.70£ on amazon. Really strange. Usually a new book is at 5.49£ and then drops after launch. -
bookdepository's prices have gone up after christmas it seems, I wanted to buy some more volumes but they were all around 5.80£ whereas before they were 4.50£ or so. Damn. Might wait some time for cheaper prices.
Edit: Just checked. I bought volume 6 for 4.32£ before, now it's listed at 5.76£. Damn inflation! :ninja:
-
Anyone know how long it takes Viz to respond to emails? Or better question, what is the best way to contact vizmanga.com staff? I tried to buy vol. 2 of Toriko but there was an error which sucks since it went through my bank account but I can't read it. I was looking forward to it too.
-
They're the quickest on twitter. The site will do that sometimes. Did it just keep saying it was loading? If so it will most likely work in an hour or two.
-
It doesn't show up on my manga page and it still shows the option to buy. I'll try contacting them on twitter. Thanks for your help.

One piece at #3 on the ny best seller. I can only imagine how well volume 61 will do. :D

I'm hoping for #1, or a close 2. The _One Piece_ manga is thriving!

You could imagine my surprise because when I got into one piece about a year ago, it wasn't even half as popular out here. It seems I jumped in at a great time! I get to see one piece rise to the top. I guess it's just that we're catching up to the more recent volumes.

Was just about to post that, awesome news. It always pleases me to see that its doing well and also to know a good number of us helped get it there too.
-
How much did #1 sell? Roughly a 5000 copies?
-
I really wish the NY Times Bestseller List would post the exact number of copies sold that week.
I sort of find it strange that they don't. -

That's totally why they cancelled it Samwize.

I feel like you're being sarcastic, but there's a good chance he's right. Gintama is a manga that's notoriously hard to translate because its filled with japanese puns and play on words, among other things. I could see them thinking it might not be worth the effort necessary
-
You know, the fact that OP is so high this time coincides with something that happened to me recently.
I went to an anime con, and it was the first Con I've EVER been to here in America that had a LARGE amount of One Piece stuff. I even got a new Straw Hat mug.

Naruto is still Number 1???? fuck…:getlost:

When Naruto ends, One Piece will be back on top. Don't you worry my little prettys.
-
So happy to see OP at #3 and that it's claiming its rightful place. I won't be surprised if we see Volume 61 at #1.
-
Let's be sure too take in account One Piece is now on digitial frontier, so some fans may just be getting the volumes online.
-
And from my experiences One Piece's fanbase is mostly online. I rarely ever see a real live person out and about sporting One Piece in some way. Except at Cons. Naruto on the other hand… I remember way back when I was in middle school people would dress up in Naruto paraphernalia. And that was around 6 or 7 years ago.
-
Naruto's popularity seems to have decreased a lot since the end of Toonami, along with Shippuden being in hiatus on Disney XD.
I think the manga sales aren't as high as they used to be. -

I think the manga sales aren't as high as they used to be.Subed Naruto episodes is still really popular on Hulu.I think it's the most watched program in it's category.

Got my copy of Volume 60 finally. Also saw Color Walk 2, I probably would have bought it if I had 10 more dollars :(
-
i hope they do re-prints of color walk 1. I missed my chance to buy that
-
Yay, just got everything worked out with viz so now I have my Toriko vol.2.
Also Color Walk 2 is so awesome it makes me sad that I missed the first one. Oh well If they bring the others I'll be sure to get them. I think in the next couple of days I'll go and pick up One Piece vol. 60, Psyren vol.2, and Sailor Moon vol. 3.
-
So they're offering free volume 1's for newly registered users of the app or the website from what I understand.
Edit: just got volume 1 of op free after makin a new account lol
-
Finally caught up on the Alpha series, except Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan. Which should be fairly easy to catch up with.
Only two weeks remain…
-
OK, just paid for my subscription. Now I own all VIZ volumes, the 2nd color walk, and own all Funimation DVDs. I could not support this series in America any more if I tried. Well I could, but i'm not doing any more beyond buying volumes as gifts.
-
Is the digital release of volume 61 out already?
-
-
-
So I was thinking, with volume 65 coming to Japan on February 3rd and with US still needing to be caught up with Japan, do you guys think we could get a simulcast release for the volume?
-

They'll probably release 65 two weeks later like with sja chapters, at least that's what I think.

Probably not for this one, as 64 still isn't out and they seem to have come out of warp. But I imagine it'll be possible in the future to at least make the gap only a matter of days or weeks, since they'll consist of already-translated Alpha chapters that only need SFX edits and trans for the SBSs and such.
-
Gonna check out the B&N around me. I kinda didn't want to use another bookstore since Borders closed, but I like bookstores too much, and plus I do need a new one. I hope to pick up some One Piece (Volume 59 and 60) and perhaps some other manga as well.
-
Out of curiosity, since Shonen Jump Alpha is digital, are they going to stop the production of print volumes in the future? I heard something like that from this: http://www.onepieceatatimeblog.com/2012/01/manga-jump-into-new-world-with-shonen.html
-
The printed Shonen Jump is ending. The volumes will continue to be released digitally and printed.
-
I think it's safe to say that even with the digital age upon us, that the printed volumes won't cease production for a while still
-
That's our first look at 63's cover, isn't it?
-
No, as the volume has been out for 2 weeks now.
-
Ah yes. Duh. 64 is out too, right? Any body got a picture of it?
-
…No because it is not out. A simple look at Vizmanga.com to check if they are out would be a lot easier then just making yourself seem dumb.
