After reading this chapter and seeing the many many times that Hody has been pwnd by Luffy and Zoro I came up with the conclussion that Hyozou>Hody. The reason lies in the fact that the octopus dude was able to block and endure Luffy's attack on G2 while counterattacking with poison while Hody most of the time just gets slapped like a b1tch. For all we know Daruma was more useful than Hody this chapter; at least he tried to take out the mechas and everyone by weakening the floor structure with cavities (and he succeeded at taking nami, ussop and chopper out of the tank), though I must accept that Chopper shone pretty bright when he sent the cookie cutter flying through the soulbed.
I don't really see Hody as the main Villain. I see him as the boss of a gang, but honestly being a boss doesn't mean that you are the strongest, it just means that you are the one in command whether by force, ideals, legacy, lineage, money or whatever the reason.
I would also like to say BAMBOO JAVELINE for the win, I loved the simplicity yet effectiveness of such attack.
Wow Nami just dodged a fishman swordman attacking her from the rear (blindspot) and pummeled him as if nothing had happened at melee range, what a huge improvement for someone who has an impresive AOE but lacks at the melee department. Yeah I'll join the train of thought of there being the monster trio and then the rest of the crew; refering Nami, Ussop and Chopper as the weakling trio would be disrespectful after reading this chapter.
Franky. that Shougun is SUGOIII.keeps looking at it with starry eyes. I love Franky's battle moves, they are all so cheap and underhanded. I like the consistency regarding fighting styles that Oda has managed to balance it really befits the crew nicely

I think we should take into consideration that the new Horn Point has both arms resembling the old Arm Point and legs resembling the old Jumping Point; that probably isn't a coincidence. I kind of feel that Jump & Arm point are the ones that don't exist as we used to know them anymore, seeing how we have seen five forms thus far and neither has been one of those in their traditional variations. Thus I speculate that they have been merged with other forms; the new Horn Point, Kung Fu Point and possibly an upgraded Heavy Point.

My faith in the World Government is gone forever. The destruction of Ohara made me feel angry about them, the way they treated Nico Robin and Ace (and the awesome Moriah:ninja:) like shit, had me almost there. But when a guy like Wapol manages to get a real royal title and is gifted a kingdom, it seals the deal.
I mean just look at the name: "Evil Black Drum Kingdom". It has the word EVIL in it, for god's sake.
This speaks volumes about the moral standards of the World government.- Wapometal. I knew Franky would complete Vegapunk's heating device, but that was pretty obvious I think. I had no idea he'd use wapometal to do it, though, and the idea confuses me. Well, the idea of acquiring it confuses me, to be more accurate. I really can't figure out how he got his hands on the stuff to save my life, but I'm just going to move past it. Maybe it'll be explained later and maybe it won't. What's really interesting about all of this is the description of the stuff. I always figured it was just some super strong alloy, but it turns out what makes it unique is the fact that it's flexible. This would explain what happened to the walls Whitebeard couldn't break (they were bent and sprung back), assuming they were made of the stuff. I wonder if Wapol got the idea from fighting Luffy, and realized the advantages of rubber for himself. He then decided to combine metal and rubber together. If you think about it, an earthquake isn't going to crack rubber like it will to metal.

That's interesting. Since Wapometal is presumably created via a devil fruit power, it would seem that, to defeat the pacifista, one would need to use haki to nullify the Wapometal's special properties and destroy it.
However, Vegapunk probably has a fail-safe in that the ordinary metal is still powerful.

Hyouzou is still lazing off. I think the difference in portrayal is only starting to become more pronounced than before making it hard to think he will fight Brooke. Hyouzou was able to react to a Jet Pistol, Decken was able to react to base but not G2, and Hody… well, Luffy being pissed should be taken into account, but even so he didn't seem capable of reacting at all to an attack in base. For this to somehow lead to Hody vs. Luffy / Jimbei and Hyouzou vs. Brooke... seems like quite the massive 180 to me. Hyouzou is STILL the only guy besides Jimbei in this entire arc who has actually garnered some respect from Luffy, Hody just keeps getting smacked around.

I really don't understand Chopper at the moment. It seems like his forms have completely changed, but he still has 7, excluding hist Monster Form, which is ultimately just an "overdrive". Since Zoan's are limited to 3 forms, and Chopper not needing Rumble Balls to change into his other forms now, he must have done something to his body with knowledge of how the Rumble Ball works to make some lasting alteration. Also, his 3 basic forms are still the same, just "matured" - therefore, hybrid, walking and heavy point should not be merged with his others, since they are exactly what his fruit gives him - like any other Zoan. It wouldn't make sense for them to be mixed with some other "mutated" form.
That leaves the remaining 4 forms. We have seen that Guard Point is essentially still the same. Him using a Rumble for that may indicate that he can enhance his forms with the use of it now, which is a nice theory - I'll stand behind that until it's disproved, since I don't see how this is the only form he needs the Rumble Ball for. Now, pre-timeskip, he had Horn, Arm and Jumping Point left. Post-timeskip we have already seen Kung Fu point, which I thought to be a completely new form, and Horn Point, which looks fundamentally different - it looked way more badass before the timeskip, in my opinion. I can only think of Chopper finding a way to merge forms or something along those lines, since with one form to be shown which can either be Arm or Jumping/Leg Point, this would mean that the other has been erased… Jesus I'm confused.

As I said previously, Dosun and Icarus seem down for the count for now - there's no need for Zoro and Sanji to fight them 1 on 1. However, Zeo and Hyouzo have both been left out of the fights for now, and I assume Zeo to fight Sanji, and Zoro to fight Hyouzo.

I mean, they've even appeared in both flashbacks just to be asshats. I have a feeling he's not putting all this effort into it just to put it on the back burner for 15 years, or whatever. Please do remember that the first announcement of Wapometal was in chapter 256 http://www.mangareader.net/103-2363-11/one-piece/chapter-256.html , giving Vegapunk enough time to use it in his very first Pacifistas.I think Frankys comment saying he's realized Vegapunks dream has nothing to do with the heating system, Vegapunk probably also dreamt of creating some kind of 'transformer-like' robot, but didn't have the materials for it (at that time), but Franky, using Wapometal and Vegapunks blueprints, managed to pull it off.

If as many theorize, Wapometal is what the siege wall at Marineford that Whitebeard's quake punch couldn't break was made out of, it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for it to be the same material that the Pacifista are made of. It seems like Wapometal's primary quality is that it's flexible, rather than ultra hard (though I'm sure it is that as well). I really like Urogue's theory on how Wapol came up with the idea for it.

Then again, you can't compare the amount of Wsteel in a Pacifista with the huge,thick towering walls made of WSteel at Marineford. Also, Zoro was expecting the Pacifista to be that hard, I don't think WB knew how hard it was.
Also, if WSteel is flexible, I'd expect it to be easier to cut than to just punch/quake through, just as with Luffy (vurnerable to cutting attacks, not so much physical/blunt force ones..)

True enough (although I don't buy the WB thing, if that was the problem he could've just tried again) but I would still sooner expect the new Pacifista to be upgraded with Wapometal (can easily see Luffy winding up a Jet Pistol to break one and having the metal simply rebound).

Perhaps, but as you pointed out the WSteel is flexible, and thus would be much harder to just punch or quake through than to just cut it (combined with the fact that the thickness of the WSteel in Marineford can't even compare to the amount you'd have in one Pacifista, basically just making up the 'bones' of them).
edit: But yeah that would be interesting to see IF the Pacifistas don't already have WSteel, but then I'd be expecting an explanation on what kind of steel the original Pacifistas were made of to begin with… I still think they're already made out of it though.

There are upgraded pacifistas, so it'd only make sense if they were upgraded with the new stuff rather than already having it. You're right that it'd be easier to cut than it would be to punch, but in a manga world it wouldn't be easier to cut than it was before hand.
As for the harder than steel part, even Don Krieg had a special alloy that was harder than steel.

Krieg's armor was made out of Wootz Steel, which if I'm not mistaken is a kind of high quality steel rather than "beyond" steel. It can't really have been that amazing since EB Luffy managed to shatter it, can it?

I think people should understand that the reason we have the NFP and the Energy Steroids is to show how much stronger the Strawhats got while dealing with different powerlevels.
C'mon people. Look at it this way. Chopper fights Daruma, Chopper beats Daruma. Daruma pops a pill so now he's twice as strong. So now, Chopper will have to show off more new techniques due to the stronger villain and I'm not sure how long it would go on. But, if this is the case I hope Chopper doesn't get beaten but keeps beating on Daruma while he's OD-ing on Energy Steroids. If that's the case I'm all for it. :D

AND people are comparing the NFP to Bellamy, maybe Luffy will just instantly easily dispose of NFP and humiliate them just like he did to Bellamy. Which would be hilarious. But I like my other theory better.

About Surume's brothers: now I'm wondering if the 3 shadow squid seen in the Florian Triangle mist were related, too.
That's an interesting theory but the size and shape of the creatures difffer vastly from Surume.

From what I can tell they're much larger than the Kraken.Though they could be "older" brothers I guess. Also, Fishman Island is mentioned on that page of the creatures in the fog but they were heading to the island anyway. It's a stretch but we'll see how it pans out.

A metal which can bend without breaking is obviously more resistant to blunt force attacks than it is to getting cut, this is basic physics so not going to argue this further. Luffy didn't destroy the metal, he destroyed the Pacifista (which does not equal to "he shattered every solid thing in its body with 1 punch"). Also, being more resistant to blunt force attacks does not equal being immune to it, I'd still expect Sanji to be able to break its neck.
And we have no info on when the experiments on Kumas body began, so how do you know he got that body before? He wasn't born with it, he was during the time already an ongoing "humans weapon system" project, still under development.

Everyone was awesome this chapter, especially Franky and Chopper! I'm really glad Oda got Chopper, Usopp, and Nami out of that tank so we can see them fight. No one wants to see 3 timeskip SH's driving around in a tank in the middle of a battlefield which we would be a perfect place for them to show off their new abilities.
I'm kinda wanting for Franky to get knocked out of his robot so we can see him use his new gadgets on his cyborg body. Though the robot does look cool. +_+
Overall, awesome chapter! Luffy is a badass mo fo'.
And +10 points for Usopp's manly declaration.
ha its actually pretty damn funny that after a time skip and big powerups we sit and watch usopp/chopper/nami sit in a tank and run around the battlefield shooting. made me laugh
but as you said for franky, doesn't it show in even this chapter that this robot falls over and he says its heavy or something? so i bet franky is out of his robot now too

About the chapter. Likes: Franky (he's so super, I had to write it again), Chopper's new design and SHs owning just about everyone. Dislikes: Hody (major disappointment), the 'battle' in general (will expand on that later), Usopp's powerups look lame and Weakahoshi.
Am I the only one or is this battle way too underwhelming (unless something really dramatic happens)? The power level of the New Fishman Pirates is enough for Luffy alone to one-hit KO all of them. Or if he took out all the sheep in one haki burst and the SHs start one-on-one fights with the NFPs, only to one-hit KO them. And act nonplussed while doing it. I feel Oda has given too much attention to the NFPs and they are turning out to be a major disappointment.
I do not think Caribou will absorb Noah. Him kidnapping Weakahoshi sounds more interesting and plausible.
Anybody have any theories about why Neptune is pissing his pants so badly?well my thoughts on battle are somewhat different.
we just had two years of training to become high teir fighters. If this was pre-timeskip then this would be one hard/tough insane battle that we are used too.
but think of it this way, if these people were to give the strawhats a super tough fight and a lot of trouble, then would fishman island need protecting from humans such as whitebeard and big mam do? Imagine the strawhats living at fishman island. Any pirates or slavers or whatever would have to be stronger than the strawhat pirates in order to dare attack/steal? and that is a very very small number of pirates. Essentially it would have to be like 200+ million guys to even be able to not look like fodder. And how many 200+ pirates are there?

That's an interesting theory but the size and shape of the creatures difffer vastly from Surume.
Oda is somewhat notorious for drawing fluctuating sizes – especially in comparison. Just have a look at how often Franky's size (especially in comparison to the rest of the crew, Sunny, etc) has changed since the beginning of the time-skip.
That said though, the overall shape of Surume and of the Florian trio doesn't really match. The trio have the classic shape of squid (triangular tip, long thin "hood" and eyes just beneath) but Surume has more of an octopus shape (softer, rounder), so it's like they're different species. If that's the case, it sinks the "brothers" idea --unless Oda is using "brothers" in a way that's more like "friends" or "crew mates" than like actual "blood-relatives".
It's a stretch but we'll see how it pans out.

Wow…I actually enjoyed mangazone's scan a lot better than mangastream's...It's amazing how mangastream's translations can screw up the context. Wayy too many things were more interesting in mangazone's scan like "General Ashimoto Dangerous" and a lot of other stuff.
And I don't get how there are people who prefer Chopper's old horn point, he ate a "human fruit" yet pretty much never looks remotely human. This new horn point makes him like awesomely human and badass. Can't ask for much more unless his human point no longer looks fugly.

No Arm Point and no Jumping Point for Chopper. Kungfu Point makes most sense after combining both. He still has the arms Arm Point, just not the long legs.
Chopper's man form is probably bigger than Franky now. I'm certain the shadow in back is the other 2 forms.

A metal which can bend without breaking is obviously more resistant to blunt force attacks than it is to getting cut, this is basic physics so not going to argue this further. Luffy didn't destroy the metal, he destroyed the Pacifista (which does not equal to "he shattered every solid thing in its body with 1 punch"). Also, being more resistant to blunt force attacks does not equal being immune to it, I'd still expect Sanji to be able to break its neck.

You're saying the Pacifista's are possibly made out of the same material WB couldn't break and using the cutting argument to explain why Zoro could do it but ignoring that Luffy did, at least, bust its face with blunt force. Even if its different amounts of the same material Luffy accomplishing what WB did puts a damper on the idea.
And we have no info on when the experiments on Kumas body began, so how do you know he got that body before? He wasn't born with it, he was during the time already an ongoing "humans weapon system" project, still under development.
So you think Kuma wasn't a cyborg at the first warlord meeting which was before or around the same time Waposteel came into existence? Not much timed passed between that meeting and the Drum arc so there really was no time for Wapol to develop the metal, the government to get the metal, develop parts for Kuma, and then for Kuma to be present at that meeting.

this chapter was AAAWWWWSSOMMEE.man the cover story was great and the fighting was just wow.chopper fighting daruma like i thought with a new horn point.Franky is the absolute coolest. he has a GIANT ROBOT for crying out loud. zoro and saji backing up their captain as nice too. oh and how could i forget about nami and ussop stepping it up on the battlefild. loved this chapter

I think I`ll start my own "read and comment on everything at the same time" thing next chapter like some people are doing. I always enjoy reading them, atleast.
I think Daruma and Chopper will have a 1 vs. 1 fight, that seems pretty clear to me. Ikaros and Dosun, on the other hand, don
t necessarily have to fight Sanji and Zoro just because they have been stopped by them this chapter. I dont think the two are down for the count either, or else Oda would have shown some classic close up on their white eyed faces.I am really unsure on whos gonna fight who and what the the other Strawhats will do in the meantime. Everything is still open here.

I think that the amount of material certainly matters, a several meter-thick wall made of it is certainly going to be able to withstand significantly more punishment than 15-30cm of it (assuming that's the thickness of Kumas "bones"), so I don't think that makes WB look weak.

True enough, if he was a cyborg at that meeting there wouldn't have been enough time, in which case I guess he wasn't made of WSteel.
