I'm not sure about that. The way that FK that hurts Luffy is by "…controlling the water in the atmosphere..." or however he explained it. Water Shot seems to me like just throwing water in a certain way. I think it would need to be either imbued with Haki, or shaped to pierce like those "arrows" Hody used to work on Luffy.

Yeah, maybe.
And then there is Jinbe's comment about Hody's low level at using FK, maybe a certain degree of skill is necessary to achieve what Jinbe did to Luffy. -
Do we have a precedent of this from the Arlong arc? I can't remember if he threw water at Luffy, too… I guess not. But I believe it would pierce him, since it's more of an arrow than a bullet, but that's just a guess.
-
We did see him throw it at Sanji, and that was in fact a blunt force move rather than piercing. So it definitely wouldn't have hurt Luffy. But Arlong is so far behind Jimbei and Hody in terms of both strength and skill that we probably shouldn't look to him to find out how attacks from one of those two would affect Luffy. I think the fact that it was emphasized when Hody turned it into a piercing move by shaping it as arrows would indicate that it's normally a striking attack, but that might just be me who got that vibe.

Okay, I just had a certain number in the upper left hand corner of this forum for a while, on every page - 53.9775%. That's what it said. Can someone please enlighten me why it showed up there?

Yeah, maybe.*
And then there is Jinbe's comment about Hody's low level at using FK, maybe a certain degree of skill is necessary to achieve what Jinbe did to Luffy.I'm beginning to think Haki is Overpowered, not just because it kinda is, but it's kinda everywhere.
Anyways, I'm on Jabra's side. Being able to control water in the air, which seems profound, but is very true, would be a Fishman Karate skill that would take AGES to get the hang of. Anyone catch "The Puppeteer" episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender? Apart from ACTUALLY controlling human bodies, the extent of FK probably goes close to what Hama is capable of. No Haki required.
Hody is just… much closer to Luffy's age than Jimbei. He's like... Mr. Miyagi age in comparison. Wise-old-mentor age. The one who knows the no-defense-crane-kick. Or on this case, no-defense-punch-the-water-in-your-own-body-punch. -
I don't disagree that the difference in skill between Jimbei & Hody could very well turn out to be so profound that Hody can't replicate what Jimbei did at all and hurt Luffy with his control over water. But the question about Water Shot was whether it worked in that manner to begin with.
And I don't think Haki is a part of Jimbei's mastery of FK either, just saying that it may be required for Water Shot to work properly on Luffy much like Hancock's Pistol Kiss that comes from the mastery of her Devil Fruit ability.

What is the only point that Choper needs the rumble ball for now?
-
Other than the 1 form which requires the rumble ball to transform into; I would guess that the rumble ball acts like a steroid, improving each transformation's strength. Like a Gear 2 for Chopper.
-
He used a Rumble Ball before going into Super-Guard Point. That's all I know. Although he's still saying 7 forms even though Kung-Fu point is clearly new.
-
I kind of think Horn and Jump points kind of got fused looking at New Horn's legs.
-
Completely unrelated question:
On the cover of chapter 488, Paulie is chased by depth collectors and his fans. I wonder, what is Paulie famous for? I doubt it is because of his skills as a shipwright.

Clearly bondage.

He says 7 forms because he refined all his old forms. He didn't just add a new one he changed old ones. Jump and Arm point got incorporated into each other and/or other points.
Nefra in all likelihood a "monster" point is what is needed for the rumble ball.

Just curious, what did Roger do to be proclaimed the pirate King, I dont think its finding One piece because One Piece is Rogers Tresure
-
Just curious, what did Roger do to be proclaimed the pirate King, I dont think its finding One piece because One Piece is Rogers Tresure
Because he apparently acquired everything in the world (wealth, fame, power, freedom, etc).
-
Just curious, what did Roger do to be proclaimed the pirate King, I dont think its finding One piece because One Piece is Rogers Tresure
He was the first pirate to reach the end of the grand line, and recognized as the most powerful pirate in the world (with only whitebeard on equal terms). It was just a term kind of given to him randomly at some point, not explained exactly when or for what specific reason.
-
What happened to Gan Fall's wings? That's something that has been bothering me ever since I noticed it.

Can Luffy Bounce Water Shot back ?
If the water shots are not reinforced with haki, then they will bounce off. Arlong can't use Haki.
If the water shots are imbued with Haki, they can pierce Luffy, just like CP9's shigan. Jinbei can use Haki.Just curious, what did Roger do to be proclaimed the pirate King, I dont think its finding One piece because One Piece is Rogers Tresure
Rodger arrived at the final Island of the Grand Line and became the Pirate King. And there he left his treasure, One Piece.
-
The WG declared Roger to be the Pirate King, though the details escape me at the moment–something to do with hyping themselves once they had him in custody, perhaps?
-
I know Roger didn't come up with the name Gold Roger, it was a nickname that as far as I'm aware the WG came up with. Roger thought it was ridiculous.*
But yeah, it was totally a political move on the WG's part. -
As you no doubt know, his name is Gol D. Roger. Some theorize that the WG changed the name to "Gold" Roger in order to hide the "D" connection–-but the original question was about getting named the Pirate King, not Gold Roger, so I'm confused about why this came up.

Does Luffy recruit Jimbei? Sorry, but i'm only at Vol. 31 so i don't know much about the new world.
-
What was it like reading Water 7/Enies Lobby when it was first coming out? As important as that arc was it did take a few years to play out. Was there ever a sense of fatigue among the OP community during this time?

Not as of yet, no. LOL

@Ne0:

If the water shots are imbued with Haki, they can pierce Luffy, just like CP9's shigan. Jinbei can use Haki.CP9's shigan couldn't pierce through Luffy and they certainly didn't have haki. The only reason Lucci's shigan worked was because he has claws. Also haki doesn't take away Luffy's rubber body, just that he can be hurt despite being rubber. It has not been proven that Jimbe can use haki, just that he can control water molecules in the air.
-
Something I was thinking about. When Luffy was underwater in Arlong Park his neck could be stretched because his body is at all times rubber. Do you think for Buggy that he is at all times choppable? More than other fruits I think of his bara bara as being constant the same way Luffy's is, at least more than other paramecia. That being said, do you think it would be possible, were Buggy submerged in water, to cut his head off actively and just return it to the surface, as long as the surface was not outside of the bara bara no mi's normal perimeters?
I guess what it comes down to is do you think the bara bara no mi grants the eater a state, such as luffy's, or an ability, such as like most other fruits such as Magellans?
-

Question: if you're only at Vol. 31, how much do you know Jinbe so far and what gave you the impression he might have been asked to be part of the crew already?

- Bara Bara
- Very likely you theorize correctly. I doubt we'll ever find out the results of that scenario since most of the people that would need to rescue him would rescue his whole body without thinking like that. But, yes, I think that could happen.

Anyone know what jump issues contain the Chapter 0 and The Toriko cross over?
-
I wonder if there are pirates profiting from their own bounties. Somewhat like Blondie and Tuco from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. For instance: Pirate A (insert Sanji reference here) has a bounty of 10 million. Pirate B (insert another Sanji reference here) goes to a Marine post with pirate A and claims the bounty. After that, pirate B breaks pirate A out and they both go to the bank.
Can easily see people like Buggy or Nami doing this. -
This chapter, page 7, top left corner. GIF please. Then we could play some music to it. :ninja:
From ch 637, that is. Anyone?

Sorry, Just noticed you asked this XD.
I am a avid reader of Shonen jump, so i know Jinbei from the war.
Also, I heard people talking on a forum about Jinbei joining in the next chapter or something. -
Just a quick question, in what chapter does whitebeard say "I am only one man with one heart…Call me a demon, call me a monster...but I can't be the strongest forever" ?

One thing I don't quite understand is… When Nami was in Weatheria (before her 2-year training regimen) she specifically said that she wanted to learn all about the New World (in terms of weather, navigation e.t.c.), yet, http://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/614/4 it seems like she doesn't even know that a "simple log pose" won't work to get to the New World?
It seems unlikely that she wouldn't have learned that if it were true while in Weatheria… So why is she unaware of how to actually travel in the NW? Could something have changed (which Weatheria was unaware of) during these 2 years?
-
I doubt that the people on Weatheria know everything about the NW.
They most likely just studied weather phenomena in the NW( for example the island Urouge was at with all the thunder they may know) and thats what Nami could have learned from them, but iam sure that the NW still has many weather related issues even the people of Weatheria still havent heard of. Actual navigation i think wasn
t something they could help her with, seeing that they travel anyways via their floating island, which makes it unnecessary to know how to sail in the NW for them.(but maybe some common things about travelling in the NW even they knew, but travelling through FI what normaly only outlaws do shouldn`t be known by scientist who sure took the road over Maryjoa). -
I wonder if Haki can be used to protect oneself from Haki. When Marco and Vista attacked Akainu they probably used haki because Akainu said "So you're haki users" yet he didn't seem to be hurt by their attacks.

I just find it weird. Especially seeing as it was more or less her explicitly stated goal during her two years at Weatheria.
-
We don
t know exactly what is missing to set sail to the NW from FI. Maybe it
s something specifically needed at FI to advance further.(like you needed the knock up stream to get to the kings cloud)
I somehow think that they get a special tool in the end of this arc which makes it possible for them to go to the NW and in the NW they may need at every island soemthing special(which you can most of the time only get at the island itself)to get to the next one.
So learning for each island the specific tool you need would be way to much, but when the log pose is still functionable in the NW most of the time and Nami got more skilled in reading the weather and how to navigate through hard terrain it should be still good enough.
I mean Nami gets quick adapted to new situations and i can`t picture her always already knowing what to do in such an unforgiving place like the NW.
Would take out a bit of the thrill in my eyes. -

What if the inability to use a Log Pose in the New World has nothing to do with weather? We honestly don't know yet.

Nami was told that it won't bring them to the New World from FI, that's all.

Or maybe you can protect youreself from haki with overpowering the attackers haki coz i dont think someone weak
like coby or something can stab akainu that easily you either got to have equal or more powerful haki -

like coby or something can stab akainu that easily you either got to have equal or more powerful hakiOr maybe it is simple logia mastery. Like the final stadium one can reach. My theory:
Level 1: Avoiding normal attacks if you see them coming (Alabasta Smoker)
Level 2: Avoiding normal attacks by reflex (Marinefold Smoker)
Level 3: Avoiding haki attacks by a medium user if you see it coming (Aokiji, Akainu, Kizaru)Haki masters can injure even a level 3 user (enraged Whitebeard for example)
I mean it would make sense, Logia's can train their intangibility, while haki can be trained to force them back into solidity. If both abilities are equally powerful, nothing happens except a little discomfort for the logia (as Akainu stated).
Of course the Admirals could have used their own Haki somehow, but I don't see a connection to the armor type. Vista and Marco sliced Akainu up without any resistance, no invisible armor blocking anything, it went straight through.
My guess is that Luffy will demonstrate his "medium haki" on Caribou, a level 1 logia. Smoker will be the first to avoid his medium haki, and in the end he will reach a Shanks-like level to overpower anyone.
-

Well, yeah, Color of Armaments Haki acts as an offensive and defensive tool.

anyone here do the one piece wiki?
was reading through it the other day and found a couple things that annoyed me or REALLY Pissed me off. both on zoro's page strangely
1. they mention he has only 2 bounties. why not mention his possibly 160 bounty that was mentioned by king? We haven't seen a confirmation poster yet, but seems worth mentioning at least.
2. THEY SAY HE HAS A SCAR ACROSS HIS EYE AND IT HAS BEEN SEEN CLOSED MOST THE TIME. WTF is thsi shit. zoro has never opened that eye, he is said ot be missing the eye. they make it sound like he has a hidden special eye like kakashi or something naruto bullshit. zoro's eye since time skip has NEVER been open. it has always been closed. and to HINT at anything otherwise is just plain wrong.

That was a mistake, it has been corrected in the tankobon release.
