?? so, is Neptune still in the castle or not?
I thought he was still in the castle guarded by only a few of newfishman pirate guards. []
Chapter 629:The Ex Warlord Stands In the Way
-
-
that might be the case although it would be strange seeing Hordy is going to the plaza to kill the king so how is he going to accomplish that by not taking him there?
Also, how is Luffy ever going to get inside the ryuuguu palace bubble? If the King and Pappug are still there than they'll be the only choices they have and seeing Pappug screaming his lungs out in mortal fear of Brook's soul he will not be much help unless he mans up -

For a split second, I saw something magical: a post by Beka without the moria face. But everyone will probably call me crazy cuz it's there now.
-
Thats psychoterror, PM.
-
so now everyone is talking about brook's spirit possibly being able to possess people :S

Is there still anyone who asks himself what the last colourspread line was meaning? ("Now it cuts like a knife!")
IDK if this has been brought up, but since I saw that colour page, I thought this line means the SHs' improvement and their new fighting skills.
It means:"u know, 2yrs ago the knife called SHP didn't cut that good, because they were pwned by Kizaru and sum PX and Fatomarou. But now after a 2year-TS they all trained their skills and now I can say:"The knife called SHP now can CUT LIKE A KNIFE!""
It's similar to the last pre-TS colourspread. On that one was the line:"It's astounding how fast the time fleets!" without any doubt a foreshadowing to the Timeskip we have experienced.
Well, that was a lil offtopic, but I remember last week sum geniuses asked what this "now it cuts like a knife" could mean and I just posted an opinion of mine.
B2T IMO they took Neptune with them. It makes no sense leavin a fortress for 3 hours and then come back and get Neptune to Gyoncorde plaza to execute him.
They took him with them from the start if u ask me.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also there were a few lil mistakes again in the trans:
the fishpeople talking bout the NFP were referring to Ikaros Muuhi (giant squid) and Hyouzou (best swordsman of FI) as if it was one person.
If someone isn't a hardcore OP fan, he/she could get confused easily by that mistranslation.
I wonder if there are users here now who think that Ikaros Muuhi, the giant squid is the greatest swordsman of FI, not Hyouzou.
Maybe Oda showed us Daruma's special FM ability because he is so small compared to the other NFP-officers and Oda thought we wouldn't like him as a villain if he is that small.
Did he destroy the candy factory on purpose or was that just a short cut to the gyoncorde plaza? What do u think?
I mean pissin off humans is one thing, but pissin off a Yonkou is a different thing. -

Zoro/Brook/Usopp got captured.
Franky and Robin wandered off on their own up until recently, minding their own business.
Luffy gets mocked by Jinbe if that is all he learned during the 2 years.
Nami/Chopper and Sanji are reduced to mere observers.
So either Oda teases us only to drop an unexpected "WOW AWESOME" bomb, or he overestimates the coolness of their new abilities. Because frankly, nothing is sharp "like knife" at the moment, not even metaphorically.

Shut up, Moria is dead, stop trolling here.

I wonder how exactly Zoro, Usopp and Brook got captured, was this explained in the chapter at all?

I think zoro didn't have his sword. I dont about the other guys.

They were captured under water. Usopp is no beast. Zoro had no air anymore and Brook was useless in water

I'm only telling my feelings about Moria's absence and Moria is not dead.

Moria just sounds like another name for diarrhea

my question is where is cariboo.. lol
He will arrive just at a perfect time to make Fishmen hate humans even more. That's just after that that Luffy will destroy the island.
-
Actually no, it didn't, in fact according to Cnet's translation Hodi doesn't say anything about bringing the King with them, or leaving him in the palace… All Hodi says is that it wouldn't be cool if he (as the 'New King of FI') were to stay locked outside of his own castle (and because of that they are leaving a few men inside to open the gates)...
The fact that they are bringing the King with them was implied in the previous chapter, when Hodi said that he will kill the King in the Gyoncord Plaza... If they are leaving the castle, and intend to kill the King in the Plaza, then they have to bring the King with them to the Plaza...
I haven't read Cnet's translation, or any translation for that matter, but Cnet got this one correct.
Hodi's addressing himself as the king, and joking that he shouldn't be locked out of the castle. -

I was rereading the whole arc due to boredom and they're trying to escape the castle by holding onto Neptune who is being pulled by his whale, but Hodi takes one of those steroid pills and grabs Neptune so they can't escape. Zoro runs out of air, Brook is useless in water and there's now way Usopp is taking on like 50 Fishmen by himself underwater.(Usopp/Brook have bubbles over their heads to breathe, they probably got them while Zoro was slashing Hodi)

Besides, all those fishmen had eaten energy steroids, so Usopp couldn't really do anything.
-
Crap, I just caught up with everything. This arc is so interesting, I'm so upset that I've been neglecting it.
Gotta say, I love Brook's new power. Just….I love everything so far.
And I know this isn't relevant to the chapter, but....I loved Queen Otohime, and both her and Shirahoshi have pretty much become major favorite characters. Same for Tiger, and I actually feel bad for Arlong to an extent.
This series really hasn't died on me.
-

Yeah pretty much, so far Usopp's only showed the pop greens, and I'm sure he doesn't have an infinite amount of them. Regardless, those wouldn't stop fishmen, underwater, that are hopped up on steroids. I doubt he could even use his Kabuto underwater anyways.
-
Yeah, fishmen were too strong with steroids !
Furthermore, the fight took place under the water, so, Ussop's strengh wasn't as high as possible. That's a point, water take human strength. In spite of that, i think that if Zoro had some more air, he'd have beaten all the fishmen in a really short time. -

brook was being useless in general because he should of played dead when he had the chance lol
-
god I miss Moriah, the one with KISHISHISHISHISHISHI! and YOU DO IT! lolz
-
brook was being useless in general because he should of played dead when he had the chance lol
So that he gets left in the water? Sounds like a good idea for a DF user.

after the water levels depleted or w/e happened after zoro fought hodi

I really liked this chapter. We got to see Brook and Robin's new techniques. Next chapter I hope we can see the other Straw Hats' new abilities.
-
Havent seen much of Blackbeard lately but if they are truly goingto be the SH's final opponents so to speak then wouldn't that mean that Black Beard would need a despicable fishman counterpart to the one that Luffy is probably going to recruit in this arc? Per se that mercenary that Hordy hired. If the mugiwaras don't fight him because the Nw fishman pirates already have a swordsman then consdier him as a new member for black beard's crew. And did everyone forget about hammond? Maybe that jet pistol still has him out of commision but i doubt hammond is strong enough to possibly join blackbeard
-
I considered the Corrupt King to play that part at first (manga), since out of the group he was the one who resembled a fishman the most. But once I saw him colored, it changed. it'll likely be an unknown staff member we've yet to see. But in regards to blackbeard, I want to see more of his crew. Not one of them has been shown doing more than dealing with random guards and townspeople. Shiryuu struck a few guards, thats it. The rest is posing and reference to their deeds.
5 people sacked a kingdom the king didnt bother trying to defend
*Blackbeard defeated Ace. His crew was shown doing little else than when you know it… hiding. What they did was mostly for reaffirming that Ace was fire and couldnt be hurt by their attempts, so they hid.
*In the prison, they just tagged along with Blackbeard and were poisoned until cured by Shiryu, who then joined them. Shiryu's the one with most credibility since he's the only one yet shown in action.
In the War at HQ, we saw them stab and shoot at Whitebeard who at that point was almost dead from blood loss already. Their strongest display of strength right now, stabbing a mortally wounded Whitebeard.I guess I will have to wait in hope for that so so rumored Blackbeards vs Red Hair Pirates until we can get a chance to see them actually do more than be characters on the side in the scenes that does show Blackbeard.
There is alot that interests me right now in One Piece, with the timeskip. Thankfully Oda takes one thing at a time so the manga doesnt feel as slow as bleach and naruto can be.Right now, Blackbeards my most anticipated crew. I always wanted to see more of the villains, these awesome little guys that make the anime so fun to watch, and Blackbeard is the currently most interesting villain to me. =)
