    • RE: Chapter 726 "The Riku Family"

      @RobZilla:

      I think that in the next few chapters we're finally going to see Bellamy's assassination attempt on Luffy, but Barto will notice it first and block it with one of his barriers.

      Then he'll probably go absolutely psycho on Bellamy, leading to Luffy reprimanding him, and thus begins the downward spiral of Barto's fanboyism.

      Speaking of Barto, can I make a prediction that he will end up an antagonist? Because;
      Barto has idolized Luffy ever since he first witnessed the failed execution in Logue Town, following every news and update in regards around the villanous Strawhats and Luffy in particular, fanatically looking up to his accomplishments. But who is to say that what he knows about Luffy is in the slightest bit true fact? Apart from the first bit, what he likely has followed is the image portrayed on luffy, by the goverment and co. The deeds done and reported have been briefly viewed to be twisted into facts picturing the Strawhats as all else but good.

      I think of the example back when Zoro read a newspaper concerning Enies lobby being utterly devestated at their hands, followed with a very aggressive declaration of war against the entire world. Barto has to all likelyhood followed those same news and viewed Luffy in his perspective as a hero. However, he is about to meet Luffy in an entirely different light than he expects and when he does realize Luffy is not at all what he has been led to believe, come to a crashing dissapointment.
      "meeting your hero is not always a good idea" for many reasons, especially when you used official news to draw an expectation of the guy.

      I hope I havent repeated what someone else has suggested already and if so, I apologize.

      Take that Ichigo!
      You have not only been stooped to taking in a bit of Omaeda in you, you are also eating reiatsu fat in the form of food! Didnt know body fats could be so tasty.
      (It resembles it really. She gets thin after cooking food, says she usually stores up before doing so and Ichigo & Renji stuff their faces in it)

      That was very fast of a release, I had gotten used to the every other weak periods.
      So what this chapter showed wasnt akiyama releasing his cards to lift up the nonranks as to minimalize benefits for kimura, but rather taking the top from him?

      Weird, since those ranked positions only reap a real benefit if you prepare losers for them.

      Zoro distinction in the views of AP:
      Zoro slices Hyozu's swords vertically and drops him in one hit = Damn, awesome!
      Zoro slices a snow harpy in half = Zoro you sexist bastard!!! I loved her!! =(

      Now, I do like Monet as a female villain, but I like her because she is a villain. If she is going to have any sort of redemption, fine. I just dont know if she's someone I want to see throughout the series for mere sake of it.

      Onchapter, it was a good finish. What happens in the next chapters, im hopeful for more Momosuke (if that was his name).

      I recall Kuro announcing out to his crew that they were "prisoners" to his plans.

      But on topic for the chapter: As said by the review posted last page, monet gives off an "insane nanny" feeling. But the brainwashing idea, I dont like to agree with it. Sure it would exscuse Monet, Baby-5 and remaining women under Doflamingo for their maniacal personalities, but i'd like it much better if they simply were insane without it.
      Too many females in manga stories are redeemed by plot points like that, "oh I was only doing this because he forced/controlled/terrorized me into doing it, I didnt really want to."

      Assuming Monet does not have any of that redemption stuff, she'll make a great first reflection upon "insane women" in the real world. πŸ˜ƒ

      I wonder if Kubo also forgot the "ukitake" reveal, being evil and for whatever case..
      Must have.

      Would anyone take a guess as to how many of those steroids Hody has munched up by this point, excluding those before his transformation?

      I'd guess a good 80+ of them.

      Looking at that mixture of race qualities Ichigo has gotten stacked into him, you'd think he'd carry one technique for atleast each. The guy has more forms than techniques, literally ground pavement used for more ground pavement expanding upon the ground pavement that originally had one rock upon it.

      Hody's earlier flashback is indeed a contradiction and as you say Vegard, making it a dream would be smoother than letting it fly as it is… if there's interest in keeping Hody's motives clean.
      I dont mind if they do, i'd be glad if they did. That one thing aside, this was a superb episode. The NFP in the animated flashback feel far more fleshed out than when reading the manga and that scene when they celebrate, it was as convincing as any other One Piece villain usually is whenever painting the "bastard villain". Seeing them celebrate like that without any reason to harbor hate for humans (being the basic problem here) for their Queen's death for trying to fix it...
      It touched me. About as well as when most OP villains admit to or perform cruelty.

      Blind Racism. I have no idea why this makes me think back to the Kennedy case, maybe im seeing my own fantasy weave my idea of what it would look like irl.
      Regardless, i'd love a gif of that "laughing during burial" scene. πŸ˜ƒ
