I already have LBP so I'll get InFamous but I can't decide between Dead Nation or Super Stardust HD. Anyone have them and can say which one is more fun? This is actually pretty awesome.

I already own inFAMOUS and use to own LBP, which I didn't like. But I have friends who want to play something with me online and they're getting the free LBP to do so, so I guess I have to get it again. I guess I might as well… I'll also grab Dead Nation.
Also, a Sony rep has replied to a post on the blog announcing these games and he says that everyone will get a choice of 2 PS3 games AND 2 PSP games, not just 2 of one system or one of each. So that's 4 games we're getting, or more if you have multiple accounts.
-
I'm getting Dead Nation and inFAMOUS
-
inFAMOUS is one of the toptier PS3 exclusives that a lot of people still haven't played. I highly recommend it to anyone who has yet to experience it.
-
So if I have LBP already, Dead Nation and inFAMOUS are what I should get?
-
Yeah. Wipeout HD has been a throwaway for Sony for sometime now, not sure of Super Stardust HD tho.
-
Well if you have all but two then you might as well get the two games that you don't have. They're free.
-
Even though I probably wouldn't have played any of these except inFamous (not counting what I already have), I'm not going to complain about 4 free games. I'd have liked a 5th option for PSP, but whatever, Sony's offered up pretty much all of their major first party games I'm aware of, which is far more than I expected.
-
It is kind of a shame that Uncharted 1 or 2 aren't being offered. Definitely platform sellers for me.
-
Shallow list in my opinion but I know others might enjoy that.
-
Looks like I'll be getting Dead Nation and Super Stardust HD as I have and/or have played the others.
Anyone have either of those that can tell me if they're good?
-

UC1 & 2 aren't available as a digital download, and probably won't be for a long time if ever. They had to choose games which were published BY Sony and were available on the store. Which that list pretty much includes all of.
-
ugh. The only ones I'd want I already own. How lame. Was it really a stretch for them to give us the PS3 Mod-Nation Racers?
Guess I'll go for Dead Nation and Quest For Booty. (if UK is getting that.)
-
It is, and I might have to beg you to lemme gameshare Quest For Booty off you. >>
-
Dead Nation is the only game I didn't get when it came out >_>
I even have the DLC for the other games.
-
Thank god my wife has a PSN account as well, 8 games for free is pretty awesome.
-
I don't think it works like that. If it did everyone would get them all.
-
It most likely IS going to work like that. As far as I know they don't have a way to limit something in the store to a console, only to an account. But after all this downtime and that update, who knows what's possible for them now. Hey, maybe that's why they still have the store down. We'll know when it goes live.
-
LBP is a definite for me, but for the second . . . . I'm not sure. Any recommendations?

InFamous if you haven't got it yet.

Sigh… from kotaku.com
According to reports on Nyleveia.com, Eurogamer, and NeoGAF, Sony's PlayStation Network password reset system-the one just put in place after the PSN hack-has been compromised, allowing hackers to change a PSN password if they know your email and date of birth. Exactly the sort of information that was released in the original hack. Sony has taken the password reset system offline. Kotaku has reached out to Sony for comment.
An official community moderator on the EU PlayStation forums notes the following services are offline: PlayStation.com

headdesk Goddammit.
I can't blame Sony at this point. The challenge is out there for the hackers.
-
Expected. As soon as the PSN came back up and Sony were saying aout how things were sorted I was kinda expecting it to go and get rehacked. Seems somebody has a grudge on Sony.
I love how people were blaming Microsoft and amazon for it too. We all know who the mastermind behind it all is. Looks at Mario box
Although I hope this doesn't affect the shop getting back up and running. I'm already annoyed that I paid up front for BTTF and they're a month behind the PC. Now the PC users have ep 4 and 5 is out soon while we are still waiting for ep 3.
-
Well if nothing else hopefull they get the people responsible for this recent hack and make an example out if them cause this joke has gotten stale.
-
"We temporarily took down the PSN and Qriocity password reset page. Contrary to some reports, there was no hack involved. In the process of resetting of passwords there was a URL exploit that we have subsequently fixed."
-
@RobbyBevard:
" In the process of resetting of passwords there was a URL exploit that we have subsequently fixed."
I guess that report was lying about the potential exploits they mentioned
-
It's like a lollipop stick joke
Q: When is a hack not a hack.
A: When it's an exploit! -
I was sound asleep and sleeping quite good might I add when I received a text about this. The fail caused me to get up, but still tired. So the PSN hasn't been compromised again and it's still online? The text was wrong then, shame on you G4tv.
-
lol Sony. Trying to save face with "it wasn't a hack; it was an exploit". I mean, sure it's not as severe as the initial incident, but it's funny to see them play it off that way.
-
This whole thing just bums me the hell out, especially seeing so many people callously delight in anything bad happening to SCE. The animosity that Sony as a company incites in people on the interbutts is childish and embarrassing (especially from those who don't even use PSN services).
-
The Japanese government is never going to let Sony re-launch the PSN in Japan at this rate.
-
The video side of the Playstation store has apparently been updated, but it still cannot be launched. However, if you scroll over to videos on the XMB and highlight the Store icon it'll bring up a little window filled with thumbnails of the recently released movies in the store. Just so happens the thumbnails appearing there now are for movies that just released onto video, such as the Green Hornet.
This shows that they are indeed working on it and, hopefully, that it's launching soon.
Aaaaaand, for a bit of bad news. Reports are flying in of older phat PS3's overheating since the installation of the latest firmware, apparently some are overheating after being on for a mere 30 minutes. L.A. Noire is actually getting the blame right now because that's what most people are playing on their PS3s, but it has nothing to do with L.A. Noire. I hope mine will be fine as it's a phat.
-
owns an older phat PS3
O_O
-
As do I.
And I've been having it on DEFINITELY longer than 30 minutes.
-
has a new, skinny ps3 Phew!
-
Well sony need to get back all those losses somehow. Having people rebuy their systems sounds like just the way.
But seriously. Wasn't that already a problem with the fat PS3s? Especially the ones with PS2 playback?
-
My phatty has been acting up as of late. About a month ago, after being on for about one hour, the fan would kick in to overdrive and sound like a hair dryer. I eventualy realized I had it in a crummy, enclosed, entertainment center.. the air would circulate and make the ps3 get really hot fast… the fan would go into overdrive to compensate.... plus the systemis old (2008). I've taken measures since (plus hd backups).
As for this update... well, I haven't noticed anything different. I played la noire for about 4 hours straight last night, nothing unusual happened. And believe me, I've been very dilagent regarding my ps3's health.
-
Well hopefully the numbers are far less than what the typical sensational gaming blog lets on, but it still seems to be an issue. Thing is by older "phat ps3's" I'm not sure if they mean launch PS3's or the non-ps2 phat ones. The launch PS3's have been having issues a lot lately, as Local said.

Sony has told their publishers and partners that the Store will be restored this coming Tuesday (May 24th) "if no further problems arise."

Dear god, I hope this to be the case and that they'll be able to get it up and running without any further issue.
Not sure if I'll go back to storing my credit card information on my account anytime soon, though.
-
bout time. I hope this is for the whole world. I have DLC vouchers to use! (and I imagine there'll be ones for L.A Noire etc too.)
I wonder if they'll have like TONS of new content on the store lol. I'll be disappointed if there's not BTTF part 3. So very disappointed.
-

I know I'm getting rid of my credit card info as soon as I can. I'll stick with pre-paid cards from now on. I'm doing the same thing with my XBOX LIVE account.

When the store goes live it will include the Welcome Back program and April 26th's update. 3 days later on May 27th they'll update to include May 3rd's update. Then updates on both May 31st and June 3rd will bring the store schedule fully up to date.
-
Hopefully nothing further goes wrong. I want to play MK with the people too slow to redeem their codes .
-
finallly… i got a PSN+ Card code to redeem soon.
plus i want to play All stars, SD vs raw and Bioshock online -
So now they're saying it IS L.A Noire? And it's also affecting the 360

It's free MK weekend so everyone who has a copy of the game will be able to play it online regardless of the online pass key problem.

I can't wait to see what's available on the PS store when its back up.

http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/05/22/psp_remaster_series/
Just when I was getting over my regret of buying a PSP… Also both God of War games might as well be confirmed as a source was claiming they were coming to the PS3 weeks ago, and now this PSP to PS3 line was announced.
I'm defniitely gonna trade in my copy of Ghost of Sparta now. I would probably trade in MGS: Peace Walker if I had gotten around to playing and beating it yet as well, cause you know it's gonna be released. KH: Birth by Sleep I may trade in after I finish it as you know it's gonna get it too.
Not sure about Valkyria Chronicles II tho... Also I was considering buying FF7: Crisis Core as it's $10 now... but maybe I should wait? I gotta tell ya, I'm not gonna wanna buy PSP games now just like I stopped buying PS2 after the PS3 remasters started. Safe to say other big releases like Final Fantasy Type-0 (which is coming on 2 UMDS!) are gonna get ported to the PS3.
