@RPG:
so apparenly sakaki might have gave the god fist that scar . interesting . I got to tell you though without his scar Sakaki would look weird.
They both gave a scar to each other obviously.
Hence the generic shounen phrase N°4769

Raw?
I wish when I press 'Translate' on Google Translator it'd translate the chapter.
Oh wow, i'm liking the chapter already :o
Now this is a flashback that we have been waiting for a long time…
Ha that was great. A nice poignant flashback and hilarious protective elder antics. Good chapter:)
And here I thought Saiga killed Miu's mother. Of course looking at this you'd get that impression…
!
This chapter makes it seem like Saiga was away during Shizuha's murder. At least that's the Elder's perspective so he doesn't know the whole truth. I wonder if Miu has ever told her grandfather about her memory, and the suspicion that it was his son who murdered her mother.
Of course it's not confirmed Saiga did the dirty deed. I don't know how Miu could remember anything as such a young infant anyway. It's hazy at best so I suppose the only person who knows the whole truth is Saiga himself. A great chapter that feels in a lot of blanks about Miu's family though.
i choked up when miu was found under the snow. mothers love FTW T_T
it was so cute to find mui under the snow like that. and did elder just fly off when he tried to save his son. The flashback was much needed to put things in to perspective. saiga got be reveld soon hopefully. The curfew was the most hirlarius part of the chapter
Well, there's still a chance it was Miu's dad who killed her mother. I mean, the elder came too late so he didn't see who did it. He just assumed it couldn't be his son.
Of course, Miu remembering anything from that night is incredibly stupid.
I am not entirely sure the elder told the truth, Miu remembers faintly her mother being struck down and she should not have been able to see that event if she was under the snow, she also seemed to be too young to have been able to remember anything in the elders version.
It makes more sense that the elder found her in shock after seeing her mother being killed, which caused her to be traumatized (getting fevers during winters and just getting really scared when trying to remember it).
I think he knows or at least suspects that his son killed Miu's mother and that he is the leader of yami, I think he is afraid of Miu walking down the same path as his son did.
Here are some of the chapters dealing with Miu and her past.

I wonder if the series will only cover Kenichi's HS year, or will it span into his adulthood (around age 20) and show the full transformation from a disciple to a master.
That way he would be able to fight some of the current masters like kensei, or even have a new batch of masters to deal with.
I say the last shot we see is kenichi training his son or another dicple.that would be a good ending
just read the chapter on mangareader.
I think the translation was off in a lot of places, it felt really stilted and hard to follow. Like the translator wasn't sure if people were speaking in the 1st or 3rd person, or if they were asking for information or offering information.
who else is translating kenichi these days?
just read the chapter on mangareader.

It looked like something from google translate to me.
I'd wait for utopia to get around to translating it. They've done the past few chapters. http://mangatopia.net/manga/historys-strongest-disciple-kenichi
Much appreciated dude. This chapter was terrible soley because of the translation. I'll wait for better translations before I formulate an opinion.
Should I read this series? I've heard people say it's good. If it is then tell me why in significant detail please.

Quick summary:
The plot is pretty simple and linear but it has great art (especially the perspective), great characterization, filled with oodles and oodles of bad ass muscular men and great fights. It's strongest trait is how it balances its characters, the top tier masters constantly have battles without overshadowing the protagonist. Also, as a refreshing change, the main character is a talentless loser who only got to where he is with pure hard work and nothing else. Imagine if Rock lee was the star of a manga.
That's my quick summary. I'm sure someone else could make a bigger, more eloquent description.

Yeah I was actually joking when I acted like "Oh really Kenichi was good, I thought it was shit like Reborn or Shaman King were supposed to be" I've been hearing from you and Choperman and a couple of other people (mostly you) that it's really good for a while now and I will get to reading it at some point (because good Shonen are sadly so hard to find these days) but I'm already trying to get into Eyeshield 21 and Gintama (and Vinland Saga if I get the chance) so it might not be for a while. Thanks for providing me with some details TLS.
Kareem.
Read it.
That's my eloquent description.
When Kenichi gets rolling in a fight, it is top tier, no question. I mean, just look at this spread: http://www.mangareader.net/337-57978-15/historys-strongest-disciple-kenichi/chapter-402.html
That image alone is worth at least the last 20 chapters of bleach.
admittedly, you might find it simplistic and repetitive between fights, but it's still pretty good. Kenichi is the definition of an underdog, he is constantly told he has no natural talent whatsoever. The only reason he is able to become so good is because he works hard, and he has the best teachers around. There's a lot of likable characters in this one, and everything TLS said is true. but he forgot one important aspect:
fanservice. fanservice everywhere. like, more than a soul calibur game.
One of the most satisfying manga you'll ever read Kareem.
Man BBL that image you posted reminded me of classic (i.e. good) Naruto. And yeah I've already heard there's a ton of fanservice. But after braving through Negima I think I'll be fine. I will definitely read it, it's just there's this phrase which I completely agree with: So many manga, so little time there's plenty of other Shonen and Seinen that I want to read, I still think I want to stick with Eyeshield 21 for now, and then I think I'm going to try Vinland Saga (just because I like to have a Seinen to change things up) but then Kenichi is next for sure.
man this chapter was hard to follow. It was nice seeing Tanimoto interacting with kenichi again they next fight will be ridiculous.the thing about the loses I thought that he never lost before
This link has a better translated chapter.

Typical calm before the storm chapter. Tanimoto was fun. Hard to believe we're already getting another super beastly Master battle so soon after Aagard vs Apachai.
Kareem.
Read it.

agreed, it takes a while but once it gets going it's great and like TLS said it's perfect if you don't want to see average guy become top tier because of a transformation, it's a slow process to him becoming the top and he's still no where near master level it's truly the most inspirational manga out there in that regard, no gear 2nd, sage mode, hollow/fox powers giving the main character the win in a fight, truly hard work and discipline

THANK YOU!!!!! the one I read was super hard to understand, thanks TLS
A very nice chapter. I would have liked it better if the win-loss ratio was the other way around. That way it would have made it less predictable who would win. Now it's obvious Sakaki will win to tie up the score. Even if it was obvious before that Sasaki would win because we've never seen a master lose before, it has to start somewhere right? I don't think we'll go through this whole manga without seeing one of them lose at least once.

Jenazad returns, i really like the guy.
not the greatest translations I'd say, I can't really tell what's happening
Here, this site has a much better translation.

He's talking about the latest chapter though I'm sure better ones will show up. Least its better than last week's translations. They sounded like someone copied from google translator.
Erm, that chapter's been out for a while now.
My bad my bad dummy move it's deleted.

What? Well, it hadn't been posted in this thread yet. I actually hadn't read it until that link was posted.
But it's cool man.
There we go, good translation for 432 time: http://mangatopia.net/manga/historys-strongest-disciple-kenichi/chapter/432/page/01
um, I don't think this plan is a good one.
I mean, out of anyone, I think Miu would be one of the most reluctant to turn to the dark side. I don't see why Yami possibly thinks this can work.
Well, I'll give the chapter this. Yami targeting Miu? It's an interesting plot to say the least.
They're probably going to use something from Miu's past to make her cooperate. Or maybe offer up more information if she cooperates. Or maybe they'll promise they'll reveal who her father is and she can even meet him. There are many ways they can go about doing this and I think something to do with Miu's past is the way to go in terms of leverage.
Ah, and the fan service. No complaints here.
typical, i knew sooner or later miu was going to be an opponent. ever since we saw that dark side she had in the tournament.
didn't know how it woudl happen, but another yami master wanting to twist her and make her his minion/desciple makes good sense. I had just assumed that this dark miu was going to happen when she met her "gasp" alive dad. But now that she KNOWS her dad is alive, who knows how that will pan out then either

Thanks for the heads up and the chapter! I'll wait for a better translation before finishing it up though.
Translation's good. Nothing stuck out as being wrong or out of place.
I was REALLY impressed with Kenichi this chapter. He really has come a long way. His character has been greatly developed. He's asking for the underworld trips now for crying out loud.
Ok, yeah I was probably too tired to read the chapter last night. Good humor in this chapter. Wasn't too interested in all the dialog about that one guy Yami was interested in capturing. Can't wait to see the Sasaki fight.
and so, we begin hurtling towards another Master vs Yomi fight. Can anything top the last one? well, if anyone can, it would be the Brawling 100th Dan, so consider me hype.
