I haven't heard anything about jimbei. Mine is perfect, but he need his base to stand.
Paint job on kuma is just horrible for $100+ figure.
Kuma can't hold his book properly.With garp. Megahouse beeing lazy, they don't paint his face.
His face skin tone is just color from pvc material.
That's why his head and his body have a completely different color.
Concerning Jinbe, I've seen a review where a guy who bought one had his Jinbe's paint job be a little off on the patterns on Jinbe's coat, as the paint was on the parts where the clothes were rumpled. He also mentioned that Jinbe can stand without the base, but it's not recommended.

HLJ has a monthly billing cycle (or something close to that) with credit cards. So it may take a couple weeks for charges to show up on your debit or credit card.

I am learning a lot from this thread. PVC can be colored after all. That's pretty interesting.
I have heard that the bad parts from the paint job that Jinbe has isn't all that noticeable, so that's a good thing. I hope the one that I'll be getting is a good one…
Is the book thing with Kuma affecting only a few of them, or is this a problem with the majority of them? Also, I've seen a review of Kuma where that particular figure had either very few or no bad paint errors.
I hope MegaHouse snaps out of whatever it is and gets back to having the quality that the Portrait of Pirates fans know and love.
If there are timeskip Portrait of Pirates, I can only say goodbye to whatever money I'll be receiving in the near future. XD
It's true about Kuma's bible, he has to hold it by the pages and not the spine for the hand to stay intact, if he holds it by the spine then you can't really push his hand in all the way. Cos then it'll hit his sleeve and fall. Or something.
Personally I have no problems with Jinbe's paint job. I hand-carried him all the way from Japan, and for some reason they were only selling him at 6980yen there. But anyway I've tried making him stand without his base (just for fun cos I like them with the bases anyway) and he fell over.
Garp, I only have issues with his head. He looks cross-eyed on the smiling face, and yes his skin tone doesn't match his face tone.

You can find them on auction sites such as eBay, Yahoo Auctions Japan, etc. However, earlier releases can cost as high as hundreds. Can be anywhere between 50-700$ depending on which one.
Example
NEO-5 Robin: 100-250$ USD(approximately, the lowest price is also considered to be rare)
NEO-1 Nami: 180$+
Bellemere: I've seen her as high as 700$
It's a dangerous game to hunt the old ones down at those prices considering there's always the chance they could be re-released at normal retail cost.

Be careful on the desktop McCoy. the quality isn't as good as the POPs. also shipping is extremely expensive outside of Japan. almost as much as the figure is itself.

Yes welcome, all collectors new and old of course scatter about. We all gotta start somewhere like you say. Old POPs are definitely on the hots right now….it's like the interest in them exploded in the last 1-2 years really and the prices just keeps going up and up. So if you're serious about buying the old ones (refer to OP POP wiki with credit to xingyingho: http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Portrait_of_Pirates), I'd be keeping my eyes on the marketplace here since a lot of times some members let go some great stuff used/new for decent prices. For all new POP news, hang out here and you're bound to catch the preorder dates and rush like the rest of us in ordering them from various sites….takes a bit of getting used to but it gets to be routine after awhile. Good luck.

She's right. McCoy's size is the real problem…the box is ridiculously oversized for the figure and has to be EMS'ed. That's why the cost is so high. Yeah that's definitely a good route to start on, I was thinking along that line too, Maybe even the HSCF series. I'd love the timeskip crew in HSCF form, I'll dabble in WCF here and there but it's too expensive at the moment. (My Nightmare Luffy cost me 50$ alone! Plus the set of my extra Nightmare Luffy plus Zoro and Sanji cost me 85$!!! :/) I really loved Strong World Chopper (ver 2) P.O.P. so I had to pick him up, luckily he was only 35$ in total after shipping and all so I'm pleased with that. I'm going to start with Banpresto's "Name of D" line, I already have the Garp and Luffy and I have two of the Ace plus a Roger coming in.
I also preordered the brotherhood set off Ebay like 3 months ago, so that should hopefully ship out soon to me, I'm quite envious to see many of you already have it. I know where to get the Brotherhood for about 60$ in total after shipping and everything if anyone wants it. Also if you want Desktop One Piece try Angolz, they have it there listed at 112$, I've seen it at other spots for 100$ or so… with relatively ok shipping you're looking at maybe what 130 in total for that.

I thought there was fake Toei stickers going around for a while now. Kinda sucks if you're trying to chase up old figures. When I first started the hardest thing for me to figure out was the boxes and updated release changes to them. It's a shame the wiki doesn't have pics of what original and neo boxes for each looks like. Would help those new to getting the PoPs. Though I've only started this year, I've been very lucky to only need five more POPs to have them all. Mostly thanks to this site :)
And on another note, I'm looking forward to those girl hooks. I want all six, I'd probably display them, but not for key holding. I think that would be too weird to have by the door. Hopefully Ami has them up within the day then.
