Bad news, don't expect the 3rd Year Anniversary Video for a while.

To make sure it gets out soon, Doug will be doing nothing but Nostalgia Critic videos (and maybe a Bum Review).

I played Puck in high school, so I have an attachment to Midsummer's Night Dream. Can still remember a lot of the lines.
I also played Dr. Pinch in Comedy of Errors… I was dissapointed to find out years later that he basically didn't exist in the real play and his part was exagerated for school productions so classes of 40 could have characters. Man I overplayed that part with my usual crazy.

Nertz. Well, hopefully it'll be epic.
Shakespeare is very rarely played played around my parts. Never had a chance to see it on stage, so I've only seen film adaptations. The closest films get to the stage are with the Laurence Olivier versions, which try hard to maintain a theatrical quality. The 1930s Midsummer's Night 's Dream also attempts a very lavish theater presentation. Branagh's Hamlet and Marlon Brando's Julius Caesar are very high-budget movies made for a more film-like experience (though the Shakespeare material still makes them stagey). Others, like the most recent Richard III, take great liberties in altering staging of the material–with the English kings being replaced with Nazis, with a similar time period and some Al Jolson tunes. I think its still an unwritten movie law to leave the script unaltered--something that not even biblical epics using scripture adhere to.
Two adaptations I hope to see in the future are Elizabeth Taylor's Taming of the Shrew, and Orson Welles' King Lear.
I heart Macbeth. Like a lot. Like my highschool yearbook is my well-worn Cliffnotes of Macbeth.

Funny enough, I played Bottom the Weaver when I was in Middle School, and I really hammed it up. As such people loved me, because that's how you're supposed to do Bottom.

There were characters other than me?

Oh, I think we can all count on that.
Actually, I just had a thought. I think what would really be epic is if the TGWTG crew did their own take on movies with an ensemble cast. You know, like Snatch or Ocean's 11. That would really be awesome.
If not this year, maybe next year.
captainussop! If you don't stop teasing your cousin, MonkeyKing, by talking about your dead brother, Zephos, I will turn this car around immediately, drop you off with your father, and Monkey King, Robby, Satsuki, and I will be the only ones going to Disney World!
sniff
I miss Zephos. And his masked best friend of mystery, Jerk Disease.
i was gonna shake my finger at you for comparing me to him, but then i remembered my brother and i are polar opposites, so it's ok. :)
as for being on topic, i'd rather doug do NOTHING till the 3 yr anniversary is done. not that i mind nostalgia critic. :)
funny thought. nostalgia critic reviewing "the critic"
That'd be a terrible idea if Doug put off all of his work until the third year anniversary is done.
why? he'd get it done faster, and then back to the regular stuff.
why? he'd get it done faster, and then back to the regular stuff.
You're asking him to not only deprive everyone of a weekly Nostalgia Critic, but basically asking him to give up his biggest source of revenue to get the 3rd year special done slightly faster. And by his estimates it's already going to be a month to 2 month project more or less by only making Nostalgia Critic videos.
so if, right now, it takes a month, but if he's not doing other videos, then maybe 3 weeks? that's 3 videos we'd be deprived of. I was always fine and happy with AVGN's once a month video. I see the point your making. I just don't think it would be that devastating. :)

No, I think he said that he's still going to do the weekly Nostalgia Critic's videos. He's only putting off the rest of the stuff like Bum's Review, Ask that Guy, Video Game Confessions, etc. Personally it doesn't matter for me because I'm just watching his NC videos anyway, and unlike the regular NC stuff all the other stuff are usually pretty sporadic in the first place.
….i think you miss-read that. RPGJay and I are debating about him doing the critic videos. We both know he's putting the others on the side burners. :)
hey, does that mean everyone else on the site will be slowwing down? I wanna know what's gonna happen with this dark nella stuff. and I'm STILL waiting for jesu otaku to do digimon tamers.
Unless they have a hand in the editing, I don't think anyone else should be slowing down.
Though considering they finished filming not too long ago, I wouldn't be surprised if they're still too exhausted to make videos right away.
oh? they've filmed everything already? :)
It would prove difficult to edit something that wasn't filmed.

Speaking of bashing, the Nostalgia Chick's last video got a surprising amount of hate.

Oh jeez I remember seeing the video he reviewed on youtube a few years back.
God that was creepy. I've never looked at Winnie the Pooh the same way since.
That ending song…..good god.
And I'm sad to say it seems like one of the people doing the voices.....is the voice of Flintheart Glomgold.

I really can't fucking stand the incessant whining in all these TGWTG comments. God this generation is fucking spoiled as shit. Christ almighty, the way these comments come out you'd think Lindsay ate their first-borns. It's a fucking internet review, this is not serious business people. If they don't meet your ridiculously high standards then go eat a goddamn dick.

Also, check out this retarded comment for the Toriko review:
Groan One Piece? I HATE One Piece…I don't know about this one, I love Dragon Ball Z and I love food, but I hate One Piece. A lot. Like as much as I hate when you're in a cave in Pokemon and every 5 seconds you come across a wild Zubat. No, more actually.
It looks like it could be interesting, but the characters look kinda one dimensional. I may check it out at some point, but there is no way I'd be able to watch that first episode. If they had done a cross with Dragon Ball Z, I would already be watching it.
How one can love Dragon Ball and hate One Piece is beyond me.
I tried watching the latest nostalgia chick review, but when the first thing i saw was the goddamn dark nella skit i just couldn't go on.
Also not only have they not actualy watched an episode properly, but there has been a DBZ crossover.
And he's also aparently the type who prefers endless fighting in boring nondescript locations.
Lovely.
The part I don't get about the latest NChick video is all the people complaining that it has Dark Nella. Didn't you even see the title card? She's right there, along with the words "Dark Nella Saga". You said you didn't like the Dark Nella bits, then why did you click on a video that blatantly says "Dark Nella Saga"?

what? like an official on tv cross over? i didn't know that. kid's dumb. "the characters look 1 dimentional. um, derp, watch the show.
also, i don't understand why people hate dark nella so much. if you actually watch it, it's actually not bad. each to their own i guess. guess i'll go watch it now, since no one posted it here.
Cross Epoch ? The tv exposition in Tokyo ?

I have to say it's realy not funny anymore.
Was it really that funny to begin with?
No, aside from "Dark Rob" :P
Also I sort of don't realy feel any of the "characters" the Chick has going for her.
The only funny thing about the whole affair was Nash's death scene (or at least I think he died in that one :P)
New AT4W! Linkara looks at one of the dumbest crossovers ever. Superman Meets the Quik Bunny. Yes, this is real. http://at4w.blip.tv/file/5093557/
Years ago I heard about a planned crossover with Bugs Bunny, is this what became of it ?
Dark Nella is starting to wear out her welcome, but I am looking forward to the conclusion. Because the NChick has to find her "squee." And any fangirl knows the importance of "squee."
i dunno. i kinda liked how dark nella took over and did the review

Because people can't possible want to hear the Nchick's opinion of The Craft or Tron.

Not really. I was in it for hot chicks in low cut tops. Lindsay rarely does a review I genuinely enjoy and the dark nella hasn't helped.

Wow, that is a terrible terrible thing to say.
Is this what she deals with everyday? No wonder I keep hearing about the horrors of her "fans".

I feel sorry for Lindsay. She just signed up to do something she was interested in and majoring in for school, and sheerly because she's a fairly cute girl, she gets tons of creepo viewers.
Yes she's not AS entertaining as some of the other reviewers, but she tends to do her research, has fairly good points, and is having fun with her friends (and their character personalities) which is fun in its own way to watch.
Wow. That bad huh. she s not that bad of a reviewer. She's doing it for fun. And all she gets for it is flack and perverts. :/

It probably didn't help when she randomly wore what she wore for the Hannukah video. I think that encouraged it.

Oh, it changes over the years. Back in the day I was a hard-core CLAMP fangirl. Now, I'd say Dragon Age. see ponies
I feel sorry for Lindsay, too. I wonder if MarzGurl, Lupa, or JesuOtaku have to go through any of this shit.
I really don't see what there is to feel sorry about.
If the worst she has to deal with in life is some horndogs on the internet then she's got a pretty sweet life.

Something a lot of girls get hit with. They're intelligent and have something say, but that gets overlooked/reduced to insignificance because they look good.
If they're flaunting and asking to have their looks judged (and Lindsey did do that Hannukah video, so she IS aware and asking for it somewhat) then thats one thing. But when someone just goes "Yeah, she's reviewed like 40 movies and put 2 years of work into this in her freetime. I don't care, she's stupid, her videos are stupid, how low is her top this time?" that's just… blech.
How easy it is to turn the tide of conversation on this site…
MarzGurl gets flack. A lot. She still manages to have fun with her videos, but I think it does get to her sometimes. As I've said many times, she needs to have more fun with her videos. She IS a likable person, she just needs to let loose.
Jesu doesn't get much flack, but at the same time, she doesn't have all that many fans. Either way, she's a pretty optimistic and happy chick, so not very much as let her down. Yeah, I like Jesu. Although, she doesn't pay that much mind to TGWTG. She'll post videos on it, and post sometimes on the forum, but I can tell her focus are on other ties, which I think is a good thing.
Lupa is a fucking beast (in a good way). She's gotten flack every so often, but she's clearly VERY tolerant. Since one of her biggest competitions on this site is Brad Jones (who is fucking awesome), I have to applaud her. Plus, I don't think I've seen someone talk to their fans on this site as much as her. Hell, when someone on the site forum made a huge complaint to the site in general on a thread, she (not Film Brain who's a freaking mod on the forum), no, LUPA came on the thread, made a six paragraph argument, and pretty much ended the issue there. Top that off with the fact that she sometimes manages two videos a week… I don't know what drug this woman is on, or what deal she made with the devil, but I need that energy and enthusiasm.
Spoony uploaded a commentary on his Zombie 5 review.

He also says he's sick so at most we can expect another commentary for the moment.

I like Lupa and I've seen most of her OL Presents videos, and seen one Manic Episode, but she did annoy me with her christmass video. If she kept it simple, I would have liked it.
But she had a random guy who in no way resembles Patrick Stewart, who goes around as Patrick Stewart in her apartment….but the joke was not that he isn't Patrick Stewart......yeah it felt kinda cheap.
I like Lindsay, but I can't feel all that bad for her.
Everyone on the site who actually has a fanbase has gotten flack. Even Todd (hell, he got flack for making comments on "who writes a song over a dead dog" in his last video). Spoony has contemplated dropping out once or twice, but he's been doing this CLEARLY for a long time. Linkara gets a TON of flack (especially for IronLiz), and he manages pretty well. I mean, Lisa Foiles has so many people who hate her guts, yet she still manages pretty well on the site beside AngryJoe and the other Blistered Thumb folk.
I understand that I'm a guy and she's in a pretty shitty situation, but I would kill for job. I mean, her movie "The A Word" got plenty of popularity thanks to her fans.
And in terms of 'perverts'….....I'm on the same boat as Todd, Roses, and (to an extent) JewWario.... I would be constantly looking up Rule 34 images and fan fiction of me, to see what people are saying/thinking.

I know the video you're talking about. The guy is supposed to be her fiancée (husband?). She often uses him for jokes and little props, especially their little "Tommy Wiseau" gags. It's supposed to be much more of a gag of, "I live with a complete idiot, but I love him". Not her best joke, but she often likes to include him in things.
The preview to her Phantasm reviews always killed me. Her waving goodbye to him as she walks to her car. He and their cat watch and wait in horror, as he gets into her car, and the car explodes. As fake as the explosion was, I laughed pretty hard.
