I agree that gender equality in Japan is in DIRE STRAIGHTS.
But Kenichi isn't exactly a product aimed at anyone but young men, so who would it "suck up to" if not them?

^Yes of course, but these latest stripteases only makes us (myself) feel uncomfortable, not crave for more.
i just took it as a regular gag, nothing more and nothing less.
Maybe i've become too numbed to manga boobage or something.
pumped for next chapter!!!! there way stronger than they were before when they fought fortuna but the masters way stronger too
The latest chapters have been really well done. Nice to see Shinpaku getting proper fights.
I love the interaction with the shinpaku. They remind me of my friends. Takeda is still in to Mui but steps aside for kenichi.man trhat congress man look like he got to take a shit or something .really. how are you a master martial artist and and congressmen.
Chapter 421 is out

! I'm really disappointed, the Sninpaku members got so much stronger since the last master fight and Miu and Kinichi are with them and now one of the masters must interrupt this fight
! Though it was exciting to see Sakaki, I had hoped that the Shinpaku Alliance could defeat this guy on their own. I kind of hope this arc is almost over. Since the data is gone and we now know that getting the data from Okinawa was just to find out which politicians would go against Yami, this arc has done little more than introduce Rimi, who I don't care for much as a character yet
It is a bit underwhelming yes but to be fair the only reason Fortuna didn't beat the crap out of Shinpaku before was because he was intentionally going easy on them so as to not damage his future children. Still annoying that Sakaki is gonna bail them out.
! I kinda wanted the Shinpaku alliance to beat this guy on their own, but I guess this guy is serious business. A true master class. Sakaki is badass as always, of course.
In other news, wasn't it TOTALLY badass the way Kenichi just walked up to a master class like that with such a pissed off expression? He's sure come a long way.
yes, that was worth the price of admission alone. He got his Righteous Rage face on.
definitely.
and damn, this guy really is master class. i totally believed him when he said that without the acorns everyone would be dead already.
I don't buy how every master in this series overshadows the disciples. Yes, it should make sense for a master to be stronger, but this here was like a 10 vs 1 fight that included the likes of Miu, Seigfried and….that little girl whatsherface. Sakaki can beat this politician with acorns, yet these guys together can't beat him?
It feels more like the master class is constantly being protected, rather then the intended effect of the masters being awesome. I really wish these jobber masters would just stop appearing.
Not that this chapter wasn't neat though. The action was great, I just wish the disciples could get a chance to be awesome on their own.
Fortuna looks like garbage next to this guy. I'm not disappointed in the Shinpaku Alliance because they couldn't beat this guy. I wouldn't expect the Shinpaku Alliance to beat any master class they come across. If this small arc was used to give us some updates on the members of the Alliance and show us how much they've grown then it did a very good job. We all got to see most of them fight and beat a good few high level opponents.
It was like a mini-arc with Shinpaku Alliance fan service.
I hate that they make shinpaku look so weak. even if he a master 10 vs 1 ain't hurtin him but acorns are? overpoered much. but still good chapter.
Ten acorns thrown at the eyes with master-level accuracy. Though I think he'd have fared much better against them if he didn't have to also contend against ten disciples attacking simultaneously. Don't get me wrong, it's still a bit disappointing though.
I had a feeling that someone would come help them… glad they showed that even with all their combine strength they would not have been able to beat up a master ... can't wait for the day that kenichi will be master class
I hope that by the end of this series, these guys can take on a master.
And when is Chikage gonna official join Shinpaku. She just tried to take down a Yami member.

I think in terms of attacking another Yami member, they were members of the weapons division, so it's cool.

This senator guy doesn't have a weapon, though.

I don't know, I actually like the fact that they are still complete trash to masters. too many series have their characters reaching the top at unrealistic ages so this is a breath of fresh air.
^ My thoughts exactly.
It feels great that there is a level we probably won't see them reaching without some big-ass timeskip.
no time skip for right now. at the end of the manga yes but tright now no.Kenichi will get stronger but is landing a puch on a master by himself too much too ask for?
Probably Keneichi is still a disciple after all and no where near master class.

The only problem is that for 400 chapters every single threat the protagonists have faced has been completely irrelevant when faced with the Ryozanpaku masters. Wheres the tension to a fight when we know that theres a guy a million times stronger than the hero on the sidelines, ready to step in and take over if it ever gets too rough? And with basically the strongest man in the world being part of their team, theres no enemy enemy whatsoever they couldn't just sick the Elder on for Instant Win.
It's like if Shanks followed Luffy throughout the adventure, in case he needed to step in and save his poor widdle fanboy.

Matsuena has been doing a VERY good job in handling this. The masters have NEVER bailed out Kenichi out of fights he could conceivably win. They only step in against super high-tier opponents he could never beat while letting him fight his own battles while standing on the side-lines observing as they should no matter how rough it gets. It ultimately results as an interesting way to show the protagonist how far he still has to go without diffusing the dire situations he finds himself in.
did no one see this????

Sorry Choperman with what's happened with Japan, I honestly forgot about manga but thank you for posting the link.
EDIT: Not at all suprised that Sasaki pwnd that politician.
I really hope there isn't going to be a series of mini arcs like this one featuring all the masters "teaching" the Shinpaku Alliance. I have a bad feeling the next arcs will all be in a similar pattern though. Shinpaku Alliance goes on a mission, master secretly follows them/helps them, goes back home to Ryozanpaku.
That is what makes Kenichi arcs take so damn long is all of the side quests. Which is good since it does give a chance to focus on different characters.
I can't believe how long Chiaki has stayed in child mode.

I don't feel that is generally too much of an issue, since the masters have basically sworn not to interfere in disciple fights and those are the really important fights. Still, I do get what you mean and I feel that this manga can use some improvement in that department. Overall though while the system has it's flaws, it's still something I generally like much more than some 15 year old becoming stronger than people who have been at the game for decades.

Polygon has a point.
He isn't History's Strongest Master Kenichi.
@Niijima:
This era is different, so different!!
Don't think that all information is always controlled by the government
lol, did anyone else think of wikileaks?
Kinda a meh chapter. Nothing really happened we haven't seen a million times before. It was kinda fun to see Sasaki do the total opposite of what he was saying and it has been a while since we saw him go into full rage mode.
man Sakaki beat the hell out of that guy. I kinda do wish that shinpaku didn't have
to be babysat on missions but they taking on a master and last time kenichi did that he got slashed by that dredlock master.
@MDL:

I certainly did.
I'm pretty sure that was intentional.
Alright chapter but too short. Funny near the end but all Sasaki did was handle some trash. And if Nijiima had backup for his backup's backup then was the point of trying to deliver the backup in the first place? If all the information was already all over the net? Seems kinda pointless to me.
It was all about flushing out the hidden Yami member, like the master that got brutalized by Sakaki.

Revealing the Yami spies maybe ?
Revealing the Yami spies maybe ?
Yeah it worked out that way but Nijiima didn't even know about the Yami spies in congress. The masters suspected spies which is why they decided to tail Kenichi and his group, but the whole reason the group got into trouble was because they tried to deliver information which was already spread out there on the net. Nijiima already spread the information out on the net so he could have just told the police inspector what site of many sites to find it on.
well i think the author wanted to have a shinpaku arc since we got jipped in the last one with little face time. you can't say that chapter with double spreads wasn't sweet.

That's true…I can't deny that. :ninja:
Fricking finally:wub:!!!!
I mean… Man, can't we get to a manly fight soon..:ninja:
Holy shit.
I never thought I'd see the day.
Bravo.
Excellent, excellent chapter. Matsuena REALLY knows how to hit the emotional notes when he needs to. It's amazing how romantic a manly battle manga can be. The last spread and page was comedy gold.
YEAH! THIS IS HOW YOU FUCKING DO IT.
i actually felt the emotion and tenderness between the two and it didn't feel forced at all.
i BELIEVED IT, if you get what i mean.
LMAO!!! The elder was about to kill Keneichi!
