That's too sexy.
Uncharted 3

That's too sexy.
-
I'm just so damn hyped right now. If that is truly in-game, then it's just… wow.
I thought that they could never top Uncharted 2, but i'd say they have already done so.
-
Dem physics @ GIF.
-
The thing is, the majority of the time stuff like that happens, it's scripted. So it's not really physics, just an animation made to look like physics.
-
Sorry if I sound Newbish - But I'm just getting into gaming again and my friends reccomend this highly, so I looked it up and it looks quite good, can someone tell me what the gameplay is like? What you do? etc
Can't wait for this + Skyrim!
-
It's kind of a mix of platforming and shooting. There are a lot of jumping puzzles, as well as more mental puzzles. There's also shooting, like hiding behind cover and shooting. Stuff like that. You can also fight hand to hand.

It's mostly a shooter with platforming elements in it. There are also puzzles every now and then, but most of them are short and easy to solve.
it looks quite good
IT IS.
Edit:Damn it, Kai! Beat me to it…!
Anyway, I couldn't be more hyped for this. Naughty Dog out did themselves with Among Thieves and I'm sure they can do it again. They just need to fix one thing: More Sully. That guy is fucking awesome.

I know what scripted means, but just imagine if that wasn't scripted and it were the actual destruction physics.
Doubt it, though.
-
From the pics it looked sorta 'adventurous' in an Oblivion kinda way :'c
-
It's linear for the most part. There are some places you're allowed to explore, mostly to find treasures.
-
Imagine those graphics in an Oblivion-like massive world..
Probably impossible.
-
On a console anyway.
-
I know you can destroy pretty much any man made structure in the new Red Faction game.
Edit:

-
Metro 2033 has some pretty cool physics looking things but they're most likely scripted as well.
-
Damn. I cannot wait for this game. At least a whole fucking year wait?
Talk about cockteasing. -
How is it cockteasing?
Uncharted 1: November 20, 2007
Uncharted 2: October 13, 2009
Uncharted 3: November 1, 20112 years between games is the average in the industry.

Saw this on FB just now:
@Playstation:
Don't lie to yourself: You want to see UNCHARTED 3 live gameplay. Tonight, on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, you will get to do just that. Set your DVR, hide your kids, hide your wife
-
Ewwwwwwwwww… ugh.
-
Even if you don't like Fallon it's nice trade-off.
-
Jimmy Fallon announced this last week on his twitter, same day UC3 was officially announced. Figured it was general knowledge by now? My DVR is set.
-
My DVR is ready to beat the shit out of me.
-
That was… horrific. The first half of the demo was awesome, even tho the fricken game developers themselves can't seem to aim and shoot and had to resort to melee. But then... they... handed the controller... to... Fallon...
This will haunt me when I play this game.
He was all "Oh, this game is awesome! I played Uncharted 2 so much!" then they give him the controller and it's clear that he's never even handled a analog stick before, he couldn't even more the character. And then he had no idea what button firing was, and he had to be shown.
Sony better learn their lesson and not pull this shit again.
Also, from what we did see in this demo it didn't actually look any better than Uncharted 2. Then again, it was entirely in a dark mansion that was on fire, so not the best place to judge graphics on. Apparently it's Drake's place. Sucks for him.
The most notable change is the melee... you perform much longer combos. Hopefully that's just an option if you keep mashing melee, cause taking 5 seconds to take out a guy is too much. Satisfying... but too much.
Here you go, if you wanna see this train wreck: http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/blogs/2010/12/uncharted-3-world-premiere-demo/
-
I totally missed it.
My dignity bullied me and put me in a sleeper hold before I got hold of my DVR.
-
Consider yourself lucky. It looks to be an epic part of the game, but now I won't be able to fully enjoy it cause I'll have Jimmy fuckin' Fallon haunting the memory.
-
Jimmy Fallon was fine. It seems to have flown over just about everyone's head that Fallon was doing shtick once he started playing. Some people need to remember that Fallon's show is a COMEDY show after all, and NOT a serious video journalistic endeavor.
I've also seen mountains of complaints about the guys from Naughty Dog "not being able to play their OWN GAME". Do people really not comprehend what a game demo is? How television worthy would it be to see a guy creep from cover point to cover point delivering nothing but fatal head shots to every single NPC? Not very. They need to show the crowd (probably most not being even remotely familiar with the game) something interesting. That is exactly what they did. Seriously, what did everyone expect it to be?
I'm unbelievably hyped over this game. I can't even get straight all of the verbal blow jobs I want to give this game and the team at Naughty Dog. For now I'll just say, I cannot wait.

Lol, no, no he wasn't. He WAS trying to play the game, but he just didn't know how. Jimmy Fallon is not anywhere near that good an actor.
-
Most of the people that didn't notice were people that were busy trying to find faults with Fallon's show before even turning it on. Hive mind garbage. I guess that's really a discussion for another thread though.
Just in case you don't have the Playstation Network, the first of hopefully many behind the scenes videos:

mrk, I understand if you like Jimmy Fallon, but don't be ignorant. Fallon wasn't intentionally sucking at playing the game.
-
It is my contention that Naughty Dog and Fallon were intentionally sucking at the game for the sake of the audience. There will be plenty of other moments this year for Naughty Dog to BLOW our minds.
I actually don't have strong feelings for Fallon one way or the other, but I do know when someone is hamming it up for a crowd. That has been Fallon's shtick for so long now. People really do seem to have a venomous seething hatred for Fallon though, and I really don't understand it. Fallon didn't do anything that was that different from Adam Sandler during his time on "Saturday Night Live", but for whatever reason people hate Fallon's guts for it. That's enough of that though. If you want to talk more about Fallon we can open a thread for it in the appropriate place. Although I think we both said all there really is to say about it.
Unlike most I'm quite looking forward to Uncharted 3's multi-player. I've been playing U2's multiplayer for months now and am still very fond of it. All I've heard from the Dog's is that they are working to make the experience even better for Uncharted 3. I can't wait. I really can't contain myself.

Fallon can rot in hell for eternity for not writing Billy Madison

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure that enemy before he blocked the door with fire said "Burn, you fuckers!" or rather "fockers" with that accent hes got. I know the F word can be uttered once in a PG-13 movie, but I've only ever heard it said in M rated games. Can it also be used once in a T rated game?
-
I didn't even notice the line until you brought it up. It certainly sounds like "Burn, you fuckers" to me.
-
Well, this is news to me. But apparently there was a Uncharted 1 prequel game that was at one time playable on the official European Uncharted site. More interestingly is Nate's birthday is revealed in it and… what.
January 11th, 1982.
I figured Nate to be in his mid to late 30's, not mid to late 20's. Nate's only 8 years older than me, hah... Likely it's not canon tho, it was some sort of flash game on an overseas site afterall.

Meet Katherine Marlowe.
The villainess for Uncharted 3:

-
Woah, are those screenshots or concept art? I can't tell. Loving the look of that alley scene.
Oh snap, it's in-game. Uncharted 3 is making seventh-gen look like eighth-gen.
KGXe3tvHDMk
-
Finally we get a villainess, and it looks like she'll be quite intimidating as well.
I wonder if they planned to release this info on women's day, or if it just was a coincident.
-
she wants to kill all the desert reptile-puppies to make herself the world's most luxurious coat
-
Wow I can't wait for this. If they can do this with the PS3 I wonder what they'd be able to do with a computer.
-
The same fucking shit?
-
Wow, so the villains in Uncharted 3 are a GILF and JASON MOTHERFUCKING STATHAM.
-
Basically.
-
And there's not a thing wrong with that.
-
Also, it might just be me, but doesn't Marlowe look like Helen Mirren? She even sounds like her…
-
Not Helen Mirren, but she definitely reminds me of someone. Not sure who, but definitely does.
No, no, you're right. Helen Mirren was who I was thinking of.
-
Wouldn't surprise me if Naughty Dog actually got her to play the part. As far as i know she hasn't voiced any video game characters before, but some time has gotta be the first.
-
I'd smash that
! Like the natives did to lazervic
-
Issue 57 of the Official Playstation Magazine has an exclusive look at Uncharted 3. Here are the summaries of the whole info.
-
Drake spends most of his time exploring the Arabian dunes of Rub' al Khali.
-
The game features "all the things you'd expect in a desert" - including sandstorms and mirages.
-
The sand creates a 'dynamic environment' for Drake, with altering geography.
-
Drake and Sullivan are in the Empty Quarter, looking for the Iram Of The Pillars, a kind of Arabian Atlantis.
-
Not all locations are dry and arid; you'll be taken all over the world to places like London and a jungle temple.
-
The story is based around Lawrence Of Arabia, and his fascination with Iram Of The Pillars.
-
Bike sections are all but confirmed. There's a newspaper cutout in the teaser trailer that mentions motorcycles, and Naughty Dog says "We have a strong tradition of vehicular gameplay, and we try not to repeat ourselves".
-
The story to the game is still being written and altered, but villain Katherine Marlowe is part of an secret order that dates back to Queen Elizabeth I.
-
Drake's Deception will most likely not be his last outing; "The Uncharted franchise was never conceived as a trilogy"
-
"Of course, there are recurring characters from previous games" - I guess that's Elena confirmed, then?
-
There's a new melee system, with features like Drake picking up a bottle from a table and smashing it over an enemy's head. There are also new stealth moves and mechanics.
-
"We'll be sure to alert everyone if a public beta is in the works this time around"
Some new info I think.
-
