Holy shit, it's a hugging thread!
Man, I hug like mad. I hug so frequently that it's not unusual for people to jump on my back, or rush to me for a hug, or slow-mo through a field of flowers. Honestly, I'm more shocked when I meet people that don't enjoy it. I used to hug all my roommates (all guys), I hug guy friends quickly and then push them away (to, ya know, keep it manly), half-hug my female friends to respect their personal space, and fully hug people whenever I want to be silly, we're close, or it's been a while since we've seen each other.
And now I shall take you through all of my favorite hugs from my vast archive of hugs. I think the most sentimental hug I've ever given was when I saw one of my female friends (Danielle, nicknamed Dani) break down. She was crying across the courtyard and I watched her from afar, concerned, because she was a pretty isolated person in our school. I didn't know what I could tell her but I walked over to her anyway because I couldn't stand to see her crying.
I crouched down and I think I asked her if she was alright and then all of a sudden, she just throws herself at me and latches on. Not knowing what else to do, I wrapped my arms around her and just held her for a while while she cried into my shoulder. Eventually, her friends showed up and I stood up to leave her to them. They held her after I did and I just walked away silently. We had sort of an awkward friendship because I was a fairly intimidating person around campus. People that don't know me probably would have been cautious at the sight of me. So we did the whole transition in silence.
Later on, I found out that she broke down over a really minor thing so it became a relief off my shoulders. In terms of sillier hugs, though, I saw my friend hug a female friend of his and then I came up behind him and wrapped my arms around both of them and picked the two of them up, shaking them around. My younger siblings rush to and hug my waist all the time; I probably hug them for the longest periods of time amongst the people I hug, as in I actually hold them for up to 10 minutes.
Blah, blah, blah, I hug a lot.
