hmm tough choice here.
while i would think luigi's mansion would be perfect for wii with the whole flashlight and vacuum being used ot the wiimote, i also have to think it is more perfect for the 3DS, due to 3D.
The ghosts will look almost like ghosts being able to project out. The little rooms all over will be able to look nice in 3d, to see all the furnature and so on scattered around.
If only we could use the Wiimote on the 3DS, lol

They've talked about it alot during in the 3DS Iwata Asks. Seems like they did a 3D version for the Gamecube but didn't use it, so it obviously makes sense to release it for the 3DS. Nintendo/Miyamoto often drop subtle hints about new games they are working on.

Why exactly? The Ninetendo thread was were you could discuss Nintendo in general (IE the characters, the brand, games systems in general). The 3DS threads (and other similar thread was so that the 3DS could be specially discuss there. All you've succeeded in doing is now making it harder to discuss a particular topic because of all the noise that will now blend in with it.
Can we please get the separate threads back?

Remember in Luigi's Mansion when you had to use the gameboy horror to scan things, and you'd like look through it and see things that were otehrwise invisible?
that would be kinda cool with the 3ds' augmented reality. Like, a ghost escapes from the game into real life, and then you have to use the Horror3D to capture it or something.
but with only 1 stick, control would be tough. Would you use the stylus for the vaccuum? how would you easily access the shoulder buttons to raise/lower the thing?

I'm thinking about getting Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. I hear that you can capture and purify Shadow Lugia and trade it a GBA game. Will the GC to GBA cable work if I use it on the Wii or will I have to buy a GameCube in order to trade it over? Just wanna know in advance.

Since we don't have a generic DS topic I'm gonna post this here instead of making a new topic for it.
Recently changed my router last week. Came to connect up to it on the DS. Said it wouldn't allow me on connections 1, 2 and 3. But I can use advanced Setup (4, 5 and 6) instead. So I set it up on 4. But when I come to use the internet on Pokemon it just says 'no access point.' and brings up only 1, 2 or 3. How am I supposed to use connection 4 with the DS? Does this mean I have to do the impossible and manage to locate a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector or change all of my router settings to make the DS work?

If I remember right, connections 4 - 6 were added to the DSi to support WPA. Older games can't use those connections, and only a few DSi enhanced games even supports it, I think. Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router?

IIRC you should be fine. XD takes up quite a bit as I think you got a Memory Card with it. Or was that the other one?

I have been checking out some of the 3DS's AR applications and they look pretty interesting. My plan is to scan an AR card, print out a larger version, and then see how things develop from there. Could make for some pretty interesting games played in the living room.

shit, son, you'll be fine. Melee is like 11, plus a block for each screenshot you take. XD takes something like 50-ish blocks. So far, you're looking at about 100 blocks-ish for your 4 games. You could still have room on there for an animal crossing town if you wanted.

I don't think we'll be seeing a new Smash game until the Wii 2 Plus or whatever the next Nintendo console is.

I played Brawl in 3D on my computer. It is cool but not game changing. Game is pretty flat in the first place. I had more fun playing One Piece Grand Battle in 3D.

I think a 3DS brawl would work fine.
All the buttons are there. If SSFIV can work, Brawl definitely can.
Graphics are not an issue.
Power is not an issue; the 3DS can easily handle Melee, and most of Brawl if they keep the scrolling stages out, and take it easy on the collectables. Hell, they could even loose the story mode while they're at it.as for why I would want a portable smash, the 3DS is made to be much more wi-fi friendly, which would mean we could actually have online smash for once.
plus, smash would just look great in 3D. Hell, everything looks great in 3D.
the biggest argument is that smash is best when played with a group of friends. Would a 3DS smash be as good if you can't play as easily against friends in the same room? Not necessarily. Personally, I play smash to compete against people. I wouldn't care whether they were next to me or across the country.
also, I think a 3DS smash, which would be inherently one-player and wi-fi based, would be a good opportunity to step away from the party atmosphere of brawl and revisit the more competetive atmosphere of melee.
tl;dr - 3DS brawl would work just as well from a gameplay perspective, but your enjoyment of it would depend on where you stand on casual vs competitive brawl.

The actual ingame screenshot doesn't look too good. Even though 2,5D games can look pretty (Lostwinds), it often is inferior to pixel- and hand drawn art and it seems to be the case here. It's also coming out pretty soon as they are stating in the interview, so it probably isn't taken from an early build :/

about Cave Story: I really think that it loses something when it moves to 3-d. I'm sure the gameplay will still be great, but… I don't know. I love me some cave story, so I might buy it just to put some more money in Pixel's pocket, but...
and I doubt the Black and White "enhance functionality" is anything much. Probably just taking use of the street pass thing. I don't see how they could work 3-D into it, since the game's been out for months in Japan, and re-releasing it on the 3DS would be stupid. They're probably going to wait until the inevitable Pokemon Grey to unleash full 3D pokemon goodness.

According to IGN, The Virtual Console of the 3ds will be available from day one. While the Nintendo eShop won't be coming till later sometime in May. Also it was also confirmed before but IGN reconfirmed it that the 3ds will have AAC and MP3 playback which, can obviously be put on a SD card and inserted in to listen to.
According to Nintendo who first confirmed MP3 playback, developers can now choose if their game can have custom soundtracks via MP3 files but no developer has confirmed it for any titles (Hopefully Mario kart 3ds and Animal crossing 3ds will have it). While to some seems like a step forward for Nintendo, this isn't the first time they decided for custom soundtracks. Check Excite Truck and Endless Ocean.
Play and charge can be done as some people were worrying about you can't do it. You can play and charge on the cradle, for games likes Kid Icarus that only use touch screen and the control stick, or the AC adapter. To those whom want Cave Story 3D, apparently they used earlier footage of the game and that they're trying to get it to be in the launch window of the 3DS, which is from when the 3ds releases to before the next E3.

It seems like Pokemon Black and White WON'T have any enhanced functionality, and also the Virtual Console will not be available on day one. Yes but I think people are looking forward to a pokemon game that makes use of 3DS features like augmented reality and 3D. Not to mention a much needed graphical boost.
Also in related news apparently Gamefreak has said no to pokemon grey. Hopefully this means that the next pokemon game will be a true 3DS title.

but they've said that a Pokemon 3DS game is in the works. Maybe they're working on a ruby/sapphire remake? Maybe they're just making a new game with a completely different story from B&W, but still using the 5th gen? Maybe they're doing some sort of anthology-like game? They can't be working on a 6th gen, can they?
