The planes flying over the protesters is kind of strange.
@asm00200:
Seems Mubarak is expcted to announce new appointments in the cabinet soon.
Keep on beating that dead horse there, Mubarak.

Of course they do. They don't like what the US are saying right now (even though it wasn't much), they don't want to risk Mubarak leaving.

source/s ?
Nothing much to add, everything is already said.
News about arresting Ezz & El-Adli is wrong, Army still confirms that no force will be used against protesters and the F-16 flying low is only to scare away random thugs (said by an army officer to the protesters at Tahrir square).
And Police is coming back to spread all over the country to enforce law & security and NOT to interfere with the protesters.
The main worry right now is how will the people (and protesters in particular) will deal with the police who not only oppressed them for so many years and used force to shut them up at the start of the revolt but also were the first ones to damage to public property (members from the police force were arrested looting the Egyptian museum, Bank in Alexandria and probably even were the ones who set fire in many police station all around the country).
If the protesters exercised any violence against the police then the police will have the right for "self defense", and it'll lead more violence.
Finally something to share from Egypt before the net was cut (this is made on 25th Jan. events (before things got serious)).

That's true of a lot of governments in the area right now. There are probably quite a few leaders in the region pressuring Mubarak not to leave if only to prevent encouraging their own people and probably cursing the day they didn't try to intervene in Tunisian politics.
If he does give in, we can expect quite a few preemptive crackdowns by other governments over the next few weeks though that'll probably inflame protests rather than disrupt them.
That's true of a lot of governments in the area right now.
Israël, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Libya all hand in hand for the cause, against the people.
Sudan protests don't seem to be amounting to much at the moment. But at least it's apparently not just in the Khartoum metro area.

Strange bedfellows and all that. The djinn is out of the bottle though and only a major massacre is going to put it back in for a short time at best.
@JERK:

The people already protesting are the bravest of the bunch though while most people are still waiting to see what happens in Egypt and also to see what happens to the early protestors. If Mubarak cuts and runs, then they'll be more inclined to take to the streets.

There are more signs of Israeli nervousness, following those comments by Netanyahu. Our Jerusalem correspondent, Harriet Sherwood reports:
Israel Army Radio said this morning that the Israeli military is preparing for the possibility that militants in Gaza may take advantage of the chaos in Egypt to bring in weapons from the Sinai.
Meanwhile, it's being reported in Gaza that three Palestinian prisoners being held in Al-Arish jail in Egypt have escaped and made their way back to Gaza through the tunnels.
The Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt has been closed until further notice, a Hamas official said.
Wow this is becoming much bigger than I would've ever expected
About the museum.
Update from an official at the celebrated Egyptian Museum in the centre of Cairo reports that some damage has been done by intruders who broke into the Tutankhamun galleries. He says:Thank God they opened only one case! The criminals found a statue of the king on a panther, broke it, and threw it on the floor. I am very thankful that all of the antiquities that were damaged in the museum can be restored, and the tourist police caught all of the criminals that broke into it. On Saturday, the army secured the museum again and guarded it from all sides.
What is really beautiful is that not all Egyptians were involved in the looting of the museum. A very small number of people tried to break, steal and rob. The Egyptian people are calling for freedom, not destruction. When I left the museum on Saturday, I was met outside by many Egyptians, who asked if the museum was safe and what they could do to help. The people were happy to see an Egyptian official leave his home and come to Tahrir Square without fear; they loved that I came to the museum.
–-------------------America's highest-ranking military officer has praised the "professionalism" and restraint of Egypt's armed forces, following a phone call with a senior Egyptian commander. Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Lieutenant General Sami Enan, chief of staff of Egypt's armed forces, of his "appreciation for the continued professionalism" of the Egyptian military. "Both men reaffirmed their desire to see the partnership between our two militaries continue, and they pledged to stay in touch," a Pentagon spokesman announced.
Is that Zahi Hawass? Been wanting to hear a bit more from him. Last I saw of him, he was just talking about the antiquities.
Small update about Tunisia from NPR:
They said that after 22 years, some influential Islamists are returning to the Tunisia, greeted with significant support. A testimony from a citizen stated that he was nervous for his daughters should these people gain any political influence. Also, NPR stated that come next election, anyone in that country can run for president.
Also, foreign tourists are being evacuated from Egypt, starting with the families of those in the embassies.
I wonder how long it'll be till tourism picks back up? After all its a big money earner of there.
This has nothing to do with the fact i want to go to Egypt again this summer.
From an Egyptian ( half of me is ) POV el baradei should not say a word about Mubarak he's not that important to egypt and at least a good 80% of egypt don't know who he is and I dare anyone to ask around in egypt to see if someone really knows El Baradei or want him to do what's he doing right now. He's the only guy that have been interviewed from all the big names in Egypt? Why? cause he was probably the first guy that fled the scene did someone in Egypt hear his voice? No. didn't happen.
about the situation. I don't think Mubark would leave as the way things are right now. Him leaving right now would create more Chaos in the country than there's already is.
There's also a big conspiracy going on in egypt Right now to remove Him ( Mubark ) from the Presidential seat. Who's behind it no one really knows yet.
I'm expecting to see things go back the way it has always been after 1-2 more days then, I think it will be the best time to see some changes happen in Egypt.
And Mubark will leave soon.
I missed the name earlier, but an amendment to my earlier post: It was the members of the Islamist Movement (or at least its leader) returning to Tunisia after 22 years in exile.
Aljazeera: Egyptian opposition to distribute letters of invitation to do a demonstration of millions on Monday.
-The army wanted to go inside Altahrir sq. but people stopped them saying they're afraid of a future cooperation with the police.
-Egyptian TV: the arrest of the accused to kill Anwar Sadat after he escaped from prison.
-Mubarak tells Shafiq to communicate with the opposition. – someone said this just talk, nothing happened yet.
-Forgot to mention that Obama had a talk with Saudi Arabia, Israel, UK and Turkey.

That's Rachid Ghannouchi.
Someone called Aljazeera from Altahrir sq.: "We ask the people through Aljazeera to come here to Altahrir sq. WE WANT MILLIONS, and then we'll move to a different direction (place)". –-he said tomorrow will be the day of this gathering.
-Chavez had to comment on this and said: that the US reaction to this is embarrassing, they use this president and that for years, and when shit happens they leave him alone. --basically
-Some news about police cars coming back to some places in Cairo.

Apparently this is a really long interview, though.
Someone called Aljazeera: Yesterday protestors number was low in Almansourah because people saw videos of the police getting thugs out of prisons, and people feared for their houses and kept protecting them.
BUT tomorrow they're planning a protest as big as the one that will happen in Cairo. (The Mega prorest)
They're viewing footage of what happened in Friday. they're throwing water at the people while they're praying and nobody moved from their places and continued their prayer until the end.
Police cars were moving through the crowds in the middle of a bridge which was full of people.
not sure if they'll show it in the English channel but keep watching. http://english.aljazeera.net/watch_now/

eh? keep watching Egypt TV that is showing empty street and claiming that that the protestors are a bunch of thugs. They shut down Aljazeera office because of the shit they showed and now Aljazeera are using the people to keep us in the picture.
You say you're part Egyptian and your first post here was "oh I think things will be back to the way it was". We don't need people like you who downgrade what the people are doing. So if you don't have anything good to say then shut up.
I'm watching it right now and it's full of people. And who fucking care how many of them are there. I'll take one brave man over 100 setting in their houses doing nothing.
I really wish Mubarak gets kicked out off Egypt but if Muslim Brotherhood manages to fill power vacuum left by Mubarak and his goverment I think it will lead even worse situation…
Mubarak was so totalitarian with his rule that he didnt allow any opposition to be formed thus there is no viable replacement for him left...except Muslim Brotherhood, the only unite political group that can take over goverment. But good side is that egyptians generally arent very fond of islamic fundmentalism but rather moderate muslims who tolerate their kopti christian countrymen and now that they understand power of the people they should be able to resist most propestorous changes future goverment might propose.
But still I hope they kick Mubarak hell out of Egypt, that bastard should not rule a day longer...
Here is the link from Aljazeera live stream. http://english.aljazeera.net/watch_now/
I don't know about you but I can see a lot of people there.

I'll just leave this right here.
and that's not even the whole picture.
Wait.
Are you saying we have no right to emphathise with these people there? That we have no right to watch?
Oh, I'm sorry I'm a human being with feelings. I really should stop that.

Did not say or mean that in any way. What i was saying is Al jazeera is not really what it seems to be transparency Mixed with lies. All media is bad I know that the Egyptian channel are not showing anything in Altahrir sq. but i never said I was watching this channel! All i said is i have family and friends there. I'm more concerned about my family then anything else right now.
Guys look what I found.
So how much do see?
I hope u know, that we have more sources than Al Jazeera alone. And from all medias out there, I think we can trust Al Jazeera the most. If u don't think that way, then be it.
I'm sorry for your family but this is no reason to bitch on us.
And what the people are doing there is brave and respectable in every possible way. They're out there to change their future. To get a better future.
12.29pm: More on those arrests of al-Jazeera staff (12.19pm). One of those reportedly arrested is Dan Nolan, the station's UAE correspondent. Despite being apparently under arrest, he is still tweeting.
Unsure if arrested or about to be deported. 6 of us held at army checkpoint outside Hilton hotel. Equipment seized too. #Egypt #jan25
4 soldiers entered room took our camera. Wr ae under military arrest #Egypt #jan25
Whoo! Freedom of speech~! :getlost:
People like brebaz disgust me. Trying to discredit Aljazeera, lol.
Israel literally wants the Mid-East to be just one giant prison state around them.
Also lol at brebaz.
"yeah im an ex-pat, and no i don't think things should change cuz chaos and stuff, no i don't see any irony here???"
Mubarack has even partisans in manga forums. You even have the time to troll on the internet while revolution is going on.
Hahahahahaha…
Also lol at his user title.
