Okay now if the story make Caribou take the form of Luffy with the mud powers, he may encounter some of the straw hats first and make them start a big fight by trick them with some lies. It´s a scenario that doesnt hold up very much facing the fact that we just had the fake straw hats in the SA and all, but it may happen. I hope it is Luffy, so we have an epic fight in the near future.

Ever since I read Luffy would destroy FI, I can't help but think of Oga destroying Ishiyama in Beelzebub.

Uhhm yeah nice facts about how fishman\woman mermaids\man were born and about Vander Decken.
So the chapter had a lot to offer…the prediction in the end will most likely be seen as Luffy being the one who changes the whole island..in the end to a better place.
But it would also be nice to see Luffy go amok against every fishman..would be a super twist needed to achieve that, thought. -
The design of Hyouzou's in walking pose is fantastic. Oh, no, I forgot that Oda's art is very bad.
And, really, Oda outdid himself with Madame Shirley. Beyond sexy.
And I think the possibilities of a plot twist in the end of Luffy destroying FI. . .are 1/10000000. If it happens I will be blown away, but I'm NOT expecting it.

Oh, and also, Oda REALLY needs to work on not trying to fit so much into one chapter. The exposition in this chapter and some of the others recently has been flat out ridiculous! I barely got a chance to look at enjoy some of this chapters artwork because there was so many speech bubbles crowding every panel! The past few chapters have been this way, but I don't think any of them have been this over the top with it.
Rein it in, Oda! It's getting to be a bit much!
Yes, Oda is terrible at exposing and pacing his plot, but he's great at writing the actual plot, making us excited (even if he sometimes fails with the pay offs) and making it all work consistently.
Which basically means that as long as you are able to analyze every chapter a lot and theorize it (like we do here), you'l have a great time reading it :)

Hell, I would say his pacing is better than the vast majority of manga artist out there, period.There are plenty of REAL examples of awful pacing right in the same magazine OP runs in.

My prediction is that Hodi Jones will use the fortune telling to cause great destruction on FI in such a way that the Strawhats are blamed for it (which will include showing some human using a strawhat), in fact I think that he was planning on using them since the moment he found out that Luffy reached FI (and also the reason why he sent his lackeys to bring Luffy to him), but now with the fortune telling he has the perfect opportunity to convince everybody that the Strawhats are responsible for the destruction. And that he is planing on using this to turn all the Fishman and Merman kind into anti-humans, and thankful to him for stopping the Strawhats.

Lately I feel a lot of One Pieces chapters are just really cluttered, you know? Like Oda feels like we'll forget someone is there if they aren't shown in a few panels every chapter. It really kills the pacing and it's not a problem the manga used to have. He needs to calm it down.
And the exposition. REALLY outrageous, this chapter.
There's a great lighthearted vibe around here, because no matter how serious we might get, we're all together because of some magical pirate.

I also thought the exposition in this chapter was overly hectic but whatever. Compared to any other mangaka Oda is a pacing genius (especially in the context of the other WSJ writers who are mostly HORRIBLE) so the occasional awkwardly paced chapter is more than tolerable.

Werent a big thing? Didn´t Shiki and Roger already famous pirates back then. In the funeral you can see all that rookie generation, and some other pirates. And even before that Brooks was a captain, and Roger was becoming famous at that point. But yeah i understand your point and the one they are trying to make in the manga. But i think it would have work a lot better something like "the sea would be under the control of a new generation of pirates" or something like that.
