Judeau's death from Berserk. What made me really sad is that he still didn't tell Caska that he was in love.
Saddest Deaths.

uh… the only ones I can think of off my head at the moment.... stfu it's midnight and I'm tired.
Movies
! Bridge to Terabithia when the girl died. I refuse to watch the movie ever again cuz I know I'll spend the following 24 hrs in tears.
Nonfiction
! Doc Holiday. The guy was fucking awesome! Why'd you have to die of tuberculosis?!! D8 yes I'm an old west geek. Happens when you live in the southwest near tombstone. Don't judge me
Manga/Anime
! Hiluluk, Bellemere, Tom, and the Ohara Genocide all made me cry like a baby.
! The death of Captain Nemo in Nadia. And shortly after his big reveal too! Dammit.

This post is deleted!

Manga/Anime
This Guy: Wolfwood
!
Nisha rokubou no shichinin: Rainbow
Rokurouta Sakuragi
!
Captain Pip Bernadotte: Hellsing
!
-
Fullmetal Alchemist
! A lot of people say Nina, but I say Hughes. I loved Hughes. Hughes' funeral scene gets me every single time I watch it. Hearing his daughter ask "Why are they burying daddy?!" is just too sad.
One Piece
! Pretty much every death is sad here. But I remember like bawling at Robin's flashback.
! Ace's death was ruined for me, I'll have to wait until it comes up in the anime to really judge it. But it did make me tear up even though I had been spoiled of it. Especially when you see tears in Whitebeard's and Garp's eyes.Surprisingly enough that's all I can really think of right now.
I suppose I have to agree with Cuddles The Dark on Marley and Me, though. I watched that movie only a short time after I had lost the dog that had been with me for all of my childhood. Dog movies are always sad. They always have to end like that. =(
-
Shall I remind anyone of a little anime called gungrave.
-
These are Spoiler-ish, so Spoiler'd
In Anime/Manga:
! Captain Pip Bernadotte in Hellsing
Alucard was kinda sad too when Integra was begging him not to go.
! Kamina in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Nina AND Hughes in FMA.
Nicholas D. Wolfwood from Trigun.
! Kuririn's death in the Piccolo Daimao was the only sad death in Dragon Ball, mostly because he died at a point in the series where dying was not yet a novel thing where anyone could be whisked back in a heartbeat with the Dragon Balls.
! And… every Flashback death in One Piece... Plus, Merry.... god damn Merry....
! And, I was little at the time, But Ash from the first Pokemon Movie got to me...Other:
! Sirius Black in Harry Potter 5 and… most of the cast in Harry Potter 7, though ESPECIALLY Lupin, Tonks, and Fred.
! Rufio From Hook actually...
I actually also got kinda sad over Rorschach from Watchmen.
! Even though I knew it was coming, The Spider-man movie got Uncle Ben's death right, it touched a nerve for me. -
Millennium Actress
! The artist's death. Really cruel.
I agree! (Yay, I found a Satoshi Kon fan!)
! Though it was only the beginning for me, after hearing that Chiyoko will die too. It was expected, but I still cried together with Genya and I can't decide whether it was that sad or that beautiful. :cwy:
FMA
! Nina's and Hughes' deaths were shocking and definitely very, very sad. So cruel, so… sad. T_T
Forrest Gump! Jenny's death- After all those years, they could have been finally together and then… T____________T
Grave of Fireflies
I don't even need to comment this. ;_;
Glass Mask
! Death of Maya's mother. She couldn't see her perform, not even once. :(
Death Note
! Interesting, but when L died I did not feel sadness, but rather anger and disappointment.
-
Green Mile:
! To this day, I cry every time John is put to death. The part that always gets me is when he asks them not to put the bag over his head because he's afraid of the dark. Gah, I'm tearing up just thinking about it
Harry Potter:
! DOBBY. I was sad about other deaths in the series, but the only one that ever succeeded in bringing me to tears (and still does) is Dobby.
Of Mice and Men:
! Lennie. Poor, poor, Lennie. The whole final exchange between George and Lennie brings me to tears every time.
Lord of the Flies:
! Piggy. Poor kid was the only decent one on the entire island, really. His death is jut so sudden, and so pathetic that the first time I read it I actually yelled out in shock. Not enough to bring me to tears, but it's made Piggy one of those characters that I loko upon with sadness when I see their name.
The Exorcist:
! Damien. He was one of those characters whose life had just been terrible for the most part. You really come to feel for the guy throughout the novel, and when he makes the ultimate sacrifice to save her at the end, it's tragic and heartbreaking.
Lost:
! Charlie. He was always my favorite character, and his death is still my favorite out of the entire show. He was the first character to get a respectable death in the series, and his still saddens me the most.
I'll leave it at that for now.
-
Does a fake out death count? Because those two scary minutes near the end of Wall-E was really heartbreaking.
! I wasn't worried when he got crushed. Who wouldn't assume, "it's ok they just have to rebuild him and everything will be okay!"
! Then she switches him on and he's just… blank. Ooooh, that really had me worried there. -
assassination of abraham lincoln, for someone who was fixing alot of the problems back in the day, maybe the world would have become better if he stayed alive a little longer.
also Hitler. -
Oh, I just remembered
My Girl
! Thomas J.
I think this was the first time for me I watched a movie and somebody died in it. I mean, some main character, not some random people.
Aww, I still get sad to the bones when I watch this movie…@bartholemew:
assassination of abraham lincoln, for someone who was fixing alot of the problems back in the day, maybe the world would have become better if he stayed alive a little longer.
also Hitler... are you serious?
-
@bartholemew:
Hitler.
I hope you're joking.
Ontopic
Ok, I have a lot of stuff to list here…One Piece:
! Almost every death in One Piece… especially the death of Ace, Bellemere, Whitebeard and Hiluluk.
FMA:
! Hughes Death… and Nina's.
Wolf's Rain:
! Well, every character dies, so… everyone? But Toboe's and Hige's Deaths are the saddest.
Grave of Fireflies:
! Setsuko… oh man, that was painfull to see :cwy: And her brother starving to death, too...
Harry Potter:
! Sirius Black! The way he died made me angry…
Animals of farthing Wood:
! I loved this show when I was a kid… and I still love it. But my favourite character, the fox Bold, died ;___;
Bridge to Terabithia:
! Leslie's Death
Games
! Zack Fair! D=
Also, Sialeeds', Arshtat's and Ferid's death in Suikoden V are really sad. -
Anime
FMA
! Hughes… just... he was my favourite character... and his little daughter...
Books
Drizzt
! That creature from the second book. I don't know his English name unfortunately. He was slowly becoming a beast because of a mage's spell. Zaknafein killed him
Games
Penumbra
! Red. After we killed him, it was so painful to go into his room, see how he lived, realize why he wanted to die… and it was shocking to know that he was trapped in there since he was 17 years old.
-
Animals of farthing Wood:
! I loved this show when I was a kid… and I still love it. But my favourite character, the fox Bold, died ;___;
Holy mother of Hattori, how could I forget about this show? And all the horrible things that happened in it?
I was very young when I first saw it. I remember being weirdly fascinated by it; even though it kinda scared me, I just couldn't stop watching.
But it's been so long, I can only remember a few scenes. All of them tragic.
Aah, that's definitely a show I would want to rewatch sometime. -
Albus Dumbledore, Arthas Menethil, Anakin Skywalker…and Jack Sparrow. (When the Kraken ate him.)
Really sad...really sad...
-
FMA
! Nina's death
One Piece
! Hiruruk and Brook's death
-
breaking the waves
! the movie's so brutal that when bess dies, you feel relief for her. one of very few stories to make me cry. i lost two weeks of sleep trying to fix it.
und so weiter.

! Those hedgehogs. …Those freaking hedgehogs. They were nearly over the road D':
! Bold was so young, and he wound up dying because he couldn't/didn't have time to recover. -
Games
! Zack Fair! D=
Couldn't agree more.
And then one I almost lost myself:! John Marston in Red Dead Redemption. I knew it was coming but still…
-
.. are you serious?
yes, i am. After everything he has done in his lifetime, no matter what you say. He wasa 1 of the most important people ever to walk this earth.
he commits suicide by shooting himself knowing that there is nothing else he can do, if it wasnt for hitler america wouldnt have nuclear bombs and the UN wouldnt have been created.
so much he has done:- He unified the German people and helped them regain their sense of pride
- Stabilized the German economy and eliminated foreign debt
- He instituted the standardized schedule
for the German train system and a standardized measurement for rail cars - Created the modern autobahn system
- Encouraged the development of the Volkswagen
- Instituted the Kindergarten system
- Encouraged the development of jet aircraft, and rocket development.
Both of eva andhitler killed each other after 40 hours after getting married together. "

! Yeah, the hedgehogs. That's one of the scenes I still remember very vivdly. Maybe because it happened so early in the series.
Those stuipd, stupid hedgehogs! Why didn't they just RUN ARGH. -

Hitler took advantage of the desperate position the people and its economy were in after losing the war. How fucking dare you act like he was the sole reason Germany turned itself around from being a country so starved it made the poorest African nations look wealthy.
You have no idea, absolute no idea about Germany's position back then, nor the reasons behind the peoples desperate act of following him so blindly.
I'm going to drop a very big historical bombshell on you kid.

Damn, this forum will never cease to surprise me.

people said the same thing about Saddam Husain and even Lincoln. He changed Germany for the better, sure there are some bad and horrid things that he done.
also in world war II
The basic causes of World War II were nationalistic tensions, unresolved issues, and resentments resulting from the First World War and the interwar period in Europe, plus the effects of the Great Depression in the 1930s. The culmination of events that led to the outbreak of war are generally understood to be the 1939 invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany and the 1937 invasion of the Republic of China by the Empire of Japan. These military aggressions were the decisions made by authoritarian ruling Nazi elite in Germany and by the leadership of the Kwantung Army in the case of Japan. World War II started after these aggressive actions were met with an official declaration of war and/or armed resistance.EDIT: youtube doesnt work for me, so if the vid is for me i cant see it. i live in libya and youtube is banned here

Germany was in an era of desperation caused by the absurd bill for losing the first world war, which was 6.6 billion dollars. They were also stripped of all their military powers, and forced to accept full responsibility for the war. And to further humiliate them their european colonies were taken away.
The German people were proud for hundreds of years, and all of a sudden they plummet from the top ranks and descend into an age of misery and starvation. After several years of degradation the people began calling for a strong leader capable of making them a proud country again, and along comes mr.yesman hitler with his trunk of promises and ego boosting tactics. From here he built up the countries economy and direction with the aim of dominating the globe through killing, slavery and dictation.
What you don't seem to grasp though is that Hitler wasn't the driving force behind Germany's rise to power, it was the peoples sheer will and determination to return to what it was pre-ww1. At that point in time you could have had any radical politician lead the country as long as he promised glory or perhaps even change. You only need to see hitlers struggle through his time in politics to see how it could have gone either way with a handful of different faces.
They initially overlooked the warning alarms from the rapid results he got after finally winning his campaign.
@bartholemew:yes, i am. After everything he has done in his lifetime, no matter what you say. He wasa 1 of the most important people ever to walk this earth.
He took advantage of a desperate and proud people to meet his own desires. In short he was a selfish lying cunt that should have been eviscerated.
he commits suicide by shooting himself knowing that there is nothing else he can do
What a coward. Instead of following his soldiers to a proper death he leaves them to die while he's in comfort surrounded by friends and his loved one.
if it wasnt for hitler america wouldnt have nuclear bombs and the UN wouldnt have been created.
Oh my think how awful the world would be without the threat of nuclear bombs. The UN is a fucking joke too.
- He unified the German people and helped them regain their sense of pride
He lied to them to achieve his own delusional future germany. A country rising to power from genocide, slavery and sheer terror….what a great achievement. I wonder what pride the guards at Auschwitz felt when they starved, murdered and abused the tens of thousands of women and children around them.
- Stabilized the German economy and eliminated foreign debt
Only to increase it ten fold when he lost the next war.
- He instituted the standardized schedule
for the German train system and a standardized measurement for rail cars
lol. he improved the system of sending POW's and Jews to the deathcamps.
- Created the modern autobahn system
- Encouraged the development of the Volkswagen
- Instituted the Kindergarten system
The rest of this was actually thought up by his aides. He only implemented a good idea from someone else.
- Encouraged the development of jet aircraft, and rocket development.
To kill people, he developed technology that would kill his opponents. You also seem to lack the understanding that the first prototypes and ideas were already under-way before his hand extended towards them.
Both of eva andhitler killed each other after 40 hours after getting married together. "
it is very sad….........I have no sympathy for either of them….none.
-
wow, so much hate. Thats your oppinion though
-
@bartholemew:
wow, so much hate. Thats your oppinion though
No that is a god damn fact.
Hitlers only use so far was to see just how evil a human can be. And to make sure we never come that close again.
-
@bartholemew:
wow, so much hate. Thats your oppinion though
By that logic, a bastard doing a few good things in his life is also an opinion,

I see Hitler as a must. Somebody had to do what he did, do you really think the world would be better now if things didnt happen the way they did.
Forget the halucaust, what about the scientific breakthroughs, not all were meant to be used for war. The discovery of Methadone itself has saved more lives than what hitler killed. -
@bartholemew:

.Stop trying to justify the end result in any way possible.
Forget the halucaust, what about the scientific breakthroughs, not all were meant to be used for war. The discovery of Methadone itself has saved more lives than what hitler killed
Tell that methadone theory to the relatives of those people killed in the war. I'm sure they'd feel at peace knowing something vaguely good came from it all.
You must be seriously narrow-minded to think that Germany couldn't have gone any other route of success without taking the route of Hitler and his megalomania.
Forget the halucaust
I will never forget, nor wipe aside the holocaust to attempt to justify your dumb delusional positives.
I implore you to read, just read and read and read until you see the wars beginning and end from all perspectives, then came back and try arguing that shit to me.
-

im not trying to justify anything, i can;t deny that the biggest war in history happened because of him, but due to the war, a sudden realization happened to the whole world. We are lucky that Hitler was the example cause if it was someone else the result could have been worse.

forget the holocaust, he says. LOL

and without the war we would maybe be a bit less advanced but so many peoples lifes would have been saved

80 million mercy killings?

In the bid to create the perfect Aryan race.
