@Thousand:
It can be stopped? There's still hope?:(
Silly responses aside, I'm devastated right now…
Kadokawa and Shuueisha in particular seem determined to fight this bullshit ordinance tooth and nail. If the economic pressure is enough, it might be enough… I mean, even the Prime Minister's made remarks about Ishihara as of late.
And yeah, I feel the same way. This shit's had me flat-out depressed for the past two days, and my heart sinks every time I see a random post on it somewhere.
I still don't understand how he can be doing this. This is the exact equivalent of Jack Thompson persuading Congress to ban all video games. Aohige, Zenigame and any other Japanese inhabitant…I severely and sincerely mean no offense but your country can be a tad fucked up at times.
Sad truth is, the majority of any group of people is fucking retarded.
Extra dumb thing is that the US is the only country I can think of where something like this could flat-out never get passed.
I mean, people try all the time while screaming "DURR ITS FOR TEH CHILDRENS!!!" but it never actually works.
@Aohige_AP:
Magazines like Champion RED is pretty much screwed, and so is many of the older shoujo magazines.
Ugh. Yeah… I mean, I only read Champion RED for Saint Seiya Episode.G, too... >_<
@Nekketsu:
Sorry Aohige, but it's the only source I can rely on since I can read japanese.
In short, reading the whole scope, would you mind naming me a shonen that could get the +18 label?
Off the top of my head, Toloveru would get fucking fried.
@Thousand:
I can only pray that publishing companies like Shueisha, Kodansha and the rest unite to fight this and protect their own and each other's titles and their established, esteemed mangaka as well as try and protect the interests of the new generation.
They are, at least for now.
Expect the worst, hope for the best… even when shit like this is going on.
