She took her father's advice to heart.
Deidara will be Talk no Jutsu'd by Sai, I bet
Itachi will be Talk no Jutsu'd by NarutoThe only hope Kishi has for repentace now is Mecha Hidan
At least with Hidan, it's almost a sure-win no one can Talk'd him. Probably why he wasn't brought back.
Where the flip is kurenai anyways??????
Captured by Kabumaru.
Not that you heard it from me.
So… how many on screen zombies were we already shown that we'll have to wade through happiness speeches for now?
Instead of you know, emotionally conflicted fights to the bitter end against former allies, with the heroes slowly but inevitably losing to the immortal zombies only for it to all end what Kabuto himself calls it quits or backstabs Madara...
We're getting a parade of single attacks working against uber elites and making the zombies cry.
At least Jiraiya is still alive, they won't have to speech him.
Can Kabuto take away their personalities like he promised two chapters ago now? (At the time it was a threat... now its the only hope...)
I have to wonder if Kabuchimaru is even aware that the power of love can kill zombies. If he is though, why didn't he make them all mindless slaves in the first place?
I have to wonder if Kabuchimaru is even aware that the power of love can kill zombies. If he is though, why didn't he make them all mindless slaves in the first place?
Because emotional scenes are far more important than continuity.
funny we though these zombie fights where going to be great character developing scenes for our side characters. but it looks like we are getting more character development for the zombies than the actual live people
i remember something posting this before:
damn! and sarutobi died to defeat the 2 hokages. weren'y they against fighting him in the first place? but as the story goes: THEY DIDN"T HAVE A CHOICE! now they disappear because they are at peace?
(sighs) am almost expecting an explanation that kabuto has not perfected the jutsu like orochimaru did. fuck.
@S.C.:
At least with Hidan, it's almost a sure-win no one can Talk'd him. Probably why he wasn't brought back.
Hidan is probably still in pieces at the bottom of the hole Shikamaru dug for'em..
cursing him out…

He's voiced by Liam O'Brien. His other roles include Red XIII in Advent Children, Jonathan Morris in Castlevania Portrait of Ruin and Kain in FFIV DS.
Wow that's a bad scene, and I heard Naruto had a good dub. Ouch.

Believe it or not I was actually waiting for someone to make that comparison.
And here's why that comparison fails:
In One Piece the zombies still acted like their original selves, but serve Moriah (to an extent). Cindry did hesitate and even cry, but she didn't lose her shadow from that and it was a touching scene.
In Naruto, the zombies are the original selves, but personalities can be shut off at any given moment. For whatever reason, Kabuchimaru didn't turn off everyone's personality. And we're given no reason or explanation why the power of love can not only stop the zombies, but evaporate them where they stand.
It turns what was supposed to be a touching scene into 3 pages of Kishimoto jerking off into our faces.
Little do we know, all the defeated zombies will merge together in the final chapters to form a super zombie. Such logic exists in Naruto.
That would be awful.
Having all Zombies merge in one super Zombie? What next? Having all shadows merge one person in a colossal beast? Pft, ridiculous.
This spoiler is pathetic, btw
That would mean that Naruto would have to take five chapters or so to talk that super zombie to death.
Believe it or not I was actually waiting for someone to make that comparison.

What's your point here? When Cindy stopped, it wasn't the soul of the maid thinking, it was the soul of Cindy, you know, the body, the one without life? Not the one that lost her shadow? It didn't make sense with the explanation provided by Oda and was something completely out of the blue, no one cared, Naruto does something that is more plausible, holy shit, what a terrible writer.
And your other argument is that Cindy doesn't disintegrate, so its somehow better.

True. I think the main difference though is that Oda's zombies were all fresh, new characters whereas Kishi's are just recycled characters from earlier in the series. Any argument there, LP?

I think there was a good reason that Chopper of all people was the one who stopped Cindry. It's presumably something that will be explained in the future.
And how in the name of Neptune's giant blue crank is Kishimoto's reasoning better when there is literally no reason at all?
Another thing.
Your other argument I left untouched was "This scene was lame, the other was touching"
I agree, but I was arguing specifically with the people that thought that the idea itself was lame, and also, that's 100% subjective, as I'm sure you know

It's crap, because Cindry could still feel, but just feeling doesn't mean she's going to escape Moriah's grip.
With these zombies, they are supposed to be even more invincible, but one sap session, and oh, bye-bye zombie. And it makes the Third Hokage's sacrifice utterly pointless in comparison.
Another thing.

All I said was they were both touching scenes. One of them however is effectively ruined by the power of love.

I will tip my hat off to you if it is so. It ain't happening.

Both Oda and Kishimoto broke the rules, Kishimoto said that someone could pick the soul and encase it into the body, the personality would stay but the person would have to stay under command. Meanwhile, Oda pretty much used the same concept, but the soul and the body was different, something that I consider more "realistic" (for lack of better word).
Kishimoto made the body be able to disintegrate, I assume because the soul got so touched it was able to get free.
Oda made a dead body (not the soul, that was from an entirely different person) regain its last soul (that is 100% gone, according to the rules of Oda) and act for some brief seconds as Cindry, not the maid.
I consider the first more plausible, once again, for lack of better word
All I said was they were both touching scenes.
Neither was touching, I yawned at both almost equally. But that's subjective, I guess.
One of them however is effectively ruined by the power of love.
Both were "ruined" by the power of love, you just feel Naruto's more because it happens far more frequently, and also, because you don't want to hate One Piece and you want to hate Naruto.
Not implying that One Piece is somewhat bad, but you get what I mean

i think your thinking of bleach.

It's hateful, because it's so damn sappy, and it pisses in the face of a great scene from Part 1.
I will tip my hat off to you if it is so. It ain't happening.
If it's explained in greater detail (since we'll definitely be seeing more of Moriah in the future), I won't be rubbing in anyone's faces. If it isn't, then I admit it's crap and move on. Even if you're right, it's not like this ruins the series for me. Cause it still makes more sense than Naruto's reasoning (or lack thereof).

That's just the thing, you have to assume these things. We've only been given a rushed explanation of this resurrection jutsu that amounts to "this is a really really evil jutsu that will still be up even if we kill Kabuto".
We weren't given ANY indication that "touching their soul" would free them and destroy their body for good. This is coming out of far left field man. That's why it's bullshit.
As Amigo said, even though Cindry temporarily broke free of Hogback's control, there was zero indication that she was free from Moriah. It would be just as stupid if One Piece made it so their zombies shadows released from the power of love.
Neither was touching, I yawned at both almost equally. But that's subjective, I guess.
juju is that you?

Trust me, One Piece does make mistakes which I happily call bullshit on. It doesn't make me hate One Piece, but I do acknowledge those mistakes. If One Piece kept consistently screwing up on a regular basis that were detrimental to the plot and characters, I would say I would hate it.
Naruto makes mistakes on a regular basis. It's laughably bad how this series continues to be. It used to be one of my favorite manga. There's overlooking and recognizing flaws only to a point man.
But in either case, both scenes were intended to be touching, but Naruto's is ruined by the retarded plot revelation that therapy no jutsu can literally reduce immortal zombies to ash. If you didn't like One Piece's scene, fine, but don't fail to recognize which one was way handled better.
The saddest part is that these spoilers tell us that the next chapter is going to revive a long dead meme… That, or Naruto has become Nel.
But in One Piece, the zombies who are given a shadow don't BECOME the shadow, right? Zoro wasn't fighting against Brook, he was fighting Ryuma with Brook's abilities and part of his personality, of course.
Plus, as shown with Sanji's penguin zombie, at first the shadow personality is really strong, but little by little it starts to lose its personality. See how he started defending Nami and ended kicking Nico Robin into submission. So maybe, as time goes by, maybe the original body's personality can regain some of its "power" while the shadow's personality slowly loses some of this, ehem, "power". Or wathever.
The OP zombies split their personalities between the original body and the shadow giver, that as established from the very start with Sanji/Dogpen and Luffy/Oars retaining incredibly large amounts of the personality, while eventually the body took over, which happened to be completely loyal to Moria. So, Cindry's original personality coming back to the surface wasn't unquestioned or out of the blue at all, since we'd already seen it with all the Strawhat zombies.
And its not like her crying and refusing to work for Hogback briefly (Hogback mind you, not Moria) then took away her loyalty to Moria, disintegrated the body, and returned the shadow. Salt and fire did that, and that was a weakness of all the zombies. And even with that weakness established, MOST of them weren't actually beaten until their master was, they were basically unstoppable before that.
They didn't just… become non threatening and powerless in the space of the first chapter they actually fight. Even salt wasn't revealed until about 20 chapters in, and wasn't the trick to beating any of the non-fodder.
If the crew had fought Oars, and then ultimately beat him by saying "Hey Oars, you CAN be pirate king!" and Oars cried then crumbled to dust, then it'd be the same thing. But its not.
During the last months i got the feeling that Kishi speeds up the plot and the events are rushed, don't get me wrong i like it this way. Its better for my mental health if Naruto ends as soon as possible. Then i asked myself the question why is he doing it, his editors and he himself would drag it out to make more money and then i saw a commercial for an awesome gadget.
! Rg7vfvQ9Ctg
I think his wife used it, cause she is pissed the way he treats women.
Personally, I don't think Kishimoto wants to work on this series anymore. I think he already has ideas for his next manga so he wants to get this over with.
Which would be lazy writing, but it would certainly explain some things.
No one minded Zombies losing to feelings when it was Cindy at Thriller Bark :)
Not saying Naruto is good, just pointing out hypocrisy
hey were not bashing the concept, just the execution. Ok i was fine with the first one with Sai's BROTHER. But the puppet guy getting swayed by kankuro? really? If anything he should have turned a leaf when fighting his GRANDMA, who was using puppets that looked like HIS PARENTS and all that back then.
Not by kankuro saying how cool puppets are. Oh and teh fact that Cindy was ONE zombie that turned, meanwhile it seems at this rate that Naruto is going to have practically ALL of them be beaten this way, since it seems it is the ONLY way to beat them.
Deidara's first few lines pretty much sum up what all of us are thinking.
So, Naruto's "new" technique….is a different colored Rasengan...you gotta love the originality..
Hmmm Did gara use this attack or something like that in full shukaku mode?
If he does, kishi gets some positive ponts. It's stupid, but at least it was planned.. FROM THE BEGINNING!!!
Sharingan red for me.
I don't know what to make of the sasori thing, I see why he passed on… but I think the only reason why I appreciate it was because seemed soooooo much worse in the spoilers but it doesn't make it good, it's like watching the worst movie ever and then seeing a bad movie right after and it doesn't seem that bad, maybe I should stop reading the spoilers so I can tell if I actually like it or not... I'll just read it tomorrow
but yeah the naruto rasengan thing i already expected... was really hoping to see something new though...
but it still sucks make a new damn move kishi stop this shit
Just overall not a good week for manga I guess.
I have a feeling Naruto will be able to shoot the Rasengan now like a power blast from his hand or body.
So..where is the alert at now?
Just overall not a good week for manga I guess.

Hey beelzebub and toriko have yet to come out there's still hope
Glossy Black.
That was terrible.
The power of love, that's so cheap. And I don't wanna see Naruto training his new Rasengan version 600000000 :getlost:
I wanna see a war, but Kishi is going to screw it up….
Well, what did I expect?
Well…. at least Naruto is better then Bleach...... right.... guys?
Wow, Naruto's even bulimic right now
I mean…
Gross.
Personally, I'd rather see Naruto "come to terms" with the Nine-Tails and fully transform to use the Beast Bomb. But nope, Kishi is cutting corners again.
Although, Sasori's departure made a little more sense than Sai's brother. During his entire serve in the Akatsuki, Sasori has always believed that true art is to be preserved and admired forever. Upon becoming a zombie and seeing his own puppet body being used by Kankuro, it granted him the knowledge that he was right all along. His creations of art had surpassed his lifespan, and will continue to do so. As a puppet, Sasori couldn't understand this because he had rid himself of all his personal emotions. But he was brought back as a human, so all his lost emotions returned to him. Sasori would much prefer his art to be immortal over himself, and it is. Thus, he allowed himself to depart, at peace and free of rage.
True art is eternal. Fuck Deidara.
Glossy Glossy Black.
Gotta love Kishimoto's originality. His new idea for an attack? A Ransengan!
That was a decent chapter. I am always happy to see Bee.
