@Demon:
My problem is that you actually seem to think it makes FUNimation "Arrogant" to have changed something like that. "Stupid" and "Arrogant" are not the only options here.
Remember, 'stupid' was your description. I've said multiple times I preffered to call it 'carelessness'. 'Arrogant' was not my first choice of words either, if you'll remember.
@Demon:
1: They thought it sounded better to say "Hawkeye" IN ENGLISH. Remember, these are different languages kids.
That's what I would call 'arrogant'. Why 'change' (rather than simply over look the characters real name). If they think it 'sounds better' than it's no different than any other change an anime dub has made. Let me remind you I'm not tossing out a profuse number of exclamation marks, either. I'm simply stating a fact.

2: They may have known about the Juracule - Dracule Debate that used to rage in the fanbase until the release of Green, so they may have decided to be non-committal in the dub.
Yet their subtitles took a stance on the situation and used 'Dracule'. They even have Toei's list of romanizations which force both their dub and subtitles to use certain spellings. I would think it's a lot more likely whoever wrote the dub script was confused and simply left the name out.
@Demon:
3: They could have tried it a few times both ways ("Dracule" and "Hawkeye") just to have a Choice. One of Mihawk's VA's performances of the "Hawkeye" version of the line may have been hist best read, so they went with that.
The dub still remains inaccurate in that regard.
You don't know WHY they made such an incredibly minor tiny little tidbit of a line alteration, yet you assume there could only have been two possible, and wholly nefarious reasons. Stupidity and outright arrogance.
That rubs me the wrong way.
Again, 'stupidity' was your word. If you re-read my initial post on the subject you'll notice it's a very nuetral and calm post. You got upset to the point where you began portraying another member as an over-the-top zealot-esque caricature for absolutely no reason at all. That, in turn, left me quite unhappy (and I'm sure that comes off in my last post, too). Now, we're both in our twenties. Let's act like adults and not resort to slinging mud because somebody suggested FUNimation was careless in their writing of two dub scripts.
